The hotel is located in a narrow alleyway - don't be put off by the graffiti walls. The hotel entrance is between two restaurants so quite hidden. Literally a maximum 2 minute walk from the main square/astronomical clock. Breakfast is in the basement -plenty of tables and a good choice of food - cheese/meats/eggs/bread/fruit/yoghurts/cereal/ pastries/breads plus juices and hot drinks. There is a lift if you can't manage the stairs. Bathroom was clean, with free toiletries. Shower was hot. When you exit the hotel lobby, turn right and next door you will find a fantastic restaurant called Restaurace Mlejnice serving traditional Czech food. It's very popular and you may have to queue outside to wait for a table. We ate there twice - 2 beers, 1 cider and 2 main meat dishes cost approx £35.00.

Room 17a where we stayed overlooks the alleyway, so there is noise from the bars and restaurants if you have the windows open. No aircon so room may feel warm but you could probably request a fan.

The staff was very helpful, the hotel is in the very city center, which has its pluses and minuses, the room was sufficient and clean, which is very important. The beds were quite comfortable, the pillows were good. The breakfast had many options to choose from, warm and cold options, veggies and fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, etc. There was a closet in the room, a fan, a hairdryer and toiletries. The terrace is nice and the view is stunning.

I find the quality of the accommodation and the facilities not a great value for money, especially in a city like Prague. There was no aircon, but there was a fan. For us it was sufficient, but I do think it is overpriced for what it is. I personally did not like that the breakfast is only open for two hours 8-10 and they start cleaning up already before 10.

The hotel is small and charming, and the staff were quite nice. Our room was a very good size and clean, with good facilities. Some reviewers have complained about the late-night noise from tourists in the street, but our room wasn't on the street side and it was quiet and noise-free. The breakfast was good too, and we specially liked the (local?) pastry. The main selling point for the Hotel Dar is its location. Fantastic place in the middle of old Prague, surrounded by bars, restaurants, churches, at least a couple of museums, and many tourist attractions (not to mention souvenir shops, which may or may not be your thing.) Keep in mind though that you cannot take a taxi directly to or from the hotel; you will have to walk about 200 meters (at least we did.)

The bed in our room was a little uncomfortable. It was an older-style bed, and maybe it couldn't have a modern mattress at all, but whatever the reason, the mattress was rather hard. It wasn't the worst bed I've slept on, but it wasn't the best either.

Comfortable bed. Proximity to the Old Town Square and other city attractions. Also near good shops. The restaurant was an advantage during bad weather and the food was above average! Despite the first impression about the street it's on, I felt perfectly safe.

The inconvenience when getting a taxi or rideshare. I like European hotels (non-international chains) but it's not for everyone. The building is old style with dimly lit.public areas and portions of the guest room. And it's in a narrow pedestrian street which may not seem to be the perfect curb appeal to picky foreign travelers.

The location was the best. Few steps far away from the main square. The room was big enough, really clean and well equiped. Only one thing, because it located at the centre the tourist make noises until late night, if you have problem with fall asleep then you need the find a location far away :) The breakfast was nice,I had only problem with the coffee. The staff was very helpful and super kind. I highly reccomed this hotel.

The noise from the street (because of the loud tourist) :)

- the location is absolutely amazing, so close to the astrological clock and to the centre of old town, and due to such close proximity to everything we could always come back during the day to pick up stuff we missed in the morning. - the staff are so polite and so helpful it made the stay so much easier - rooms were tidied daily, cleaned every 4th day and towels were provided every 3rd day

- the comfort of the beds was pretty low, the duvet was quite stiff, pillows were not comfy and very much a flat pancake and mattresses are basically non existent, however for such price and fantastic location it is understandable - there is a bar below the hotel and on the other side of the narrow street, the walls are also quite thin and so earplugs are basically a must when travelling to this hotel

The hotel is in the center of the Old City. It is very comfortable. Almost all historical places are situated near the hotel. The room was very clean! The bed was very comfortable! Thank you so much!!! The breakfast was also nice! You can have: omelet, boiled eggs, fried becon, boiled/fried sausage, vegetables and fruit, different types of cheese, ham....The woman, who makes breakfast is very kind and helpful! Thanks a lot! If you have time, you can travel a little bit on the tramway #18. Tickets you can buy inside the tramway and pay with your credit card. You can buy a ticket for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 90 minutes....15 minutes kost about 1 €.

Of course it doesn't depend of hotel!!! Again, this is not the hotel's fault!!! Our room was very noisy. This noise came outside the yard. I think, it is only because the hotel is situated in the center of the city! One wish for the hotel: it would be so nice of you to have a map of the city for tourists. Thank you so much! The location of the hotel is pretty perfect, right by the Old Town Square, easy to get to from Staromestska Metro stop, easy walking distance to most attractions. It only took about 45 minutes to get to and from the Airport via public transport. Loved being able to pop in and out. Breakfast was more than adequate.

The interior of the hotel is very dark with very little daylight. Lights don't come on automatically when you leave the room. The room itself was quite dark too and I was surprised by the fact there was no TV.

The lady at the reception when I first came was a great help, I can't recall her name ( p.s. she is the one with Asian origins) but she was very sweet, with a smile all the time, helped me with any questions, even the ones that she might just say I don't know .. The room is spacious and clean, and the water pressure is very good. Breakfast was v nice, and the pastries were tasty :)

Just that for a 1st time visit, the allies are not really showing on GPS, i mean a small description upon booking on how to reach with a landmark or something, ( ex, if you are coming from old town square, go into the street of starbucks, then enter the ally at Giovanni restaurant). Other than that all is great.
