Hotel Otakar

I recently stayed at Hotel Otakar and I had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-located. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. I stayed in a family room, which was spacious and had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and bedroom were clean. The hotel is located in a quiet area of Prague, just a short walk from the city centre. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, and the tram stop is just a 30 meters walk away. The staff at Hotel Otakar were very friendly and helpful. They were always willing to answer my questions and help me with anything I needed. The breakfast buffet was also excellent. There was a wide variety of food to choose from, and everything was fresh and delicious. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Otakar. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Prague.

The room mainly consisted of our three beds. We had an ancient armchair including a stool and a small table with a chair. We used them as racks. But they would have done a good job in their original purpose, I think. We were given hand soap and showering gel/shampoo. The bathroom had enough space to get everything done and was clean. Additionally, we had a very small balcony, one could stand on it and turn around. It was very useful for our smoking friend, and I entered it sometimes in the morning to look over the street.

The water-tap was very small and was installed in the corner very close on the edge of the sink. It was nearly impossible not to have water splashes outside. The concept of the soap and the shampoo suspender looked very cool, but for the soap, it was not ideal. One had to squeeze the bottle of the suspender with water-dripping hands.

We liked the location and the simplicity of the place; additionally, the food was not all that diverse, but it was pleasantly tasty.

Upon our arrival, our window wouldn’t close after we opened it, but the staff fixed it after two cleaning sessions; when we ran out of toilet paper, we asked the staff if we could get some more of it, but we didn’t (they probably forgot about it), so we had to buy it ourselves; the toilet was leaking so we had to put towels on the floor which didn’t help all that much but it did a fairly sufficient job.

Reasonably close to a railway station and a tram interchange. Nice room on the top floor with a balcony too. Table and chair in the room too which was handy for me. Reasonable buffet breakfast in the morning. Staff were friendly.

I did like the hotel and would use it again but unfortunately the lift was out of order during my stay and it was a long way to the 5th floor! A couple of niggles were no light switch near the bed so had to fumble in the dark after switching the light off and curtains were just net curtains so didn't block out the morning light.

The room was very good, with a kitchen, big refrigerator and a dining table. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. The location is not in the center of the city, but near the hotel the guests can use two different tram stops (Otakarova and Namesti Bratri Synku) so more routes for public transport are available and using the public transport was comfortable and easy, especially if you have PID Litacka application.

If the guest wants to pay the stay by card the payment is possible to be processed only CZK and the sum in CZK is very far from the market rates, so in fact this would result in a higher payment in EUR (or your local currency) that the initially stated in the reservation. But I must admit that the stuff at the property was cooperative and polite and accepted the payment in EUR in cash, so we solved the problem! So make the necessary arrangements in advance to get the needed cash for this. As a proposal for the property- I would suggest them to consider having spare pillows with smaller size, suitable for children. It would be preferable to change the towels during the stay, same was the situation with the litter (or pay attention to the guests to ask for it by their initiative).

solid breakfast, 2 tram stops basically just oustide of the hotel (which can be disturbing at night if you have the room with the windows facing the street), you can get anywhere in the wide city centre within 20 minutes.

The hotel is not the newest one, some rooms could use some refurbishment but overall it was clean and with all the necessary stuff. Great location if you like to travel by public transport and perfect in terms of value for money.

Spacious, well equipped and clean apartment on 3rd floor required to take elevator and extra stairs to reach it. Breakfast was good, we appreciated appearance of vegetables. Breakfast area seem more like in a hosted - very small and crowded. We have used free weekend parking right in the front of hotel, hotel offered also paid parking in a backyard. Location - close to multiple tram lines, 10 to 15 minutes from city center.

The apartment was next door to the hotel, was quite and spacious Very lovely looking hotel. Tram stop outside and best way of travelling is uber as cheaper I would stay again but we walked most days which took 40 minutes to get into old square but was so easy to get to

Beds were not the most comfy apart from that would not be fair to rate anything bad about it

Lovely hotel, very comfortable but we were only there for a short while and parking for tourists is diabolical in the centre of Prague. My family had a good look around but I was stuck moving the car every hour.

Parking anywhere around the hotel. By the time we would have worked out the trams and buses so we could all sightsee we would have had to spend another night.

Good breakfast selection, close to tram and train station. Room 8 was in good condition. Helpful reception staff. Tram stop outside allows main areas to be reached. Local station is only a couple of minutes from the main railway station, with frequent service.

Some tram and train noise, but outweighed by the easy access to city.
