- Location for the price i.e. far cheaper than Waikiki and consequently 20/30 mins away from the tourist areas by bus. - In-building restaurant. - Great bus service from outside hotel. - Housekeeping and Reception

We were so well looked after by the front desk staff (Chris, Karrie and Jen and another two staff members whose names we did not get) on both stays at the Aston. The view was wonderful and the layout of the suite was very pleasing. We appreciated the upgrade as we thought we had booked a kitchenette and extras type room. So thank you. The lobby was neat and clean and you felt very secure. Pool was very nice too.

Pre warned the streets around the area were a bit grim but ok. We had some issues but everything was resolved. There could be more communication between the hotels management and the front desk staff who were confused as we were about payments made on our credit card.

Beautiful mountain views. We paid for an upgraded room and we were informed of a further upgrade when checking in - a free upgrade! The staff at reception were really good; friendly, accommodating and professional. No surprises or unexpected costs; in fact,just the opposite. The hot spa in the pool area was great. Having free access to the gym around the corner was great, even though we never used it. They told us during check-in that the unit will be cleaned one day during the 6 days We booked, but that we can ask if we need anything. We were therefore pleasantly surprised when our room was serviced (for free) another day.

Everything in the hotel was as expected or better. We thought the on-premise restaurant was very expensive for a fairly basic Asian restaurant though. The steak was the most expensive I've ever eaten, but it was small and not prepared well at all. They also don't serve breakfast. If you really need to eat there, buy their cheapest dish with no extras. At least we did not get sick from it.. The reason I mention this restaurant is that there are surprisingly few decent dining options in the area, and more importantly to us: we did not like being harassed by the homeless people hanging around the hotel street entrance, especially at night.

We were on the 29th floor and had a great view of the city and the mountains in the distance. We were also glad to see a restaurant in the hotel.

The area is a business area. After 5 or 6pm there is almost nothing open in the area and a large number of homeless people congregate on the streets and in front of businesses. It was further to Waikiki beach than I thought it would be from the description on the website.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It's Downtown so there isn't a beach right outside your door but it's convenient to all shops and it's only a short drive to Waikiki. The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially Carrie. Not ever staying there before and arriving late at night I called reception asking for the entrance directions knowing that it wasn't a resort I wanted to make sure the taxi just didn't drop me off on a downtown corner. Her description was fantastic especially since the lobby is downstairs. Carrie's welcoming smile and helping me with my room made the first impression and excellent first impression. My room was very big and had a wonderful view over the port. It was very comfortable with a seperate lounge area and kitchenette. I found all the staff very helpful and always happy to have a chat with me after I returned each day from a day trip or walking to Ala Moana shopping centre, which was 3km's but well worth it as the walk took me past beautiful traditional Hawaiian buildings. I would certainly return to this hotel in the future.

I loved everything about the hotel. The only addition that would enhance the experience would be a cafe and a vending machine for cold water / soda.

The room was clean and the view was fantastic, Pool and spa experience was really good. A really handy, and nice downtown hotel to relax and unwind especially if you like to stay away from the crowd.

Although the hotel was extremely good, we didn't like the quietness in the area around the hotel especially when we missed the Waikiki buzz in downtown area. Food options in the surrounding area were far less than Waikiki and not everything was open after 7PM, so were limited with the options.

I was initially very disappointed with the horrible 1 bed suite on level 15 that was allocated - it looked nothing like the booking I made - old uncomfortable furniture & noisy A/C, so the wonderful supervisor, Niz , changed my room to level 36 which was gorgeous - it had a great view !!- thank you Niz - your a star! Location was great next to all public buses so easy transport around the island. Walmat next door was great. Lap pool was good but kids pool under construction.

Room 1510 Lots of homeless people outside hotel & surrounding area .

Great staff, accommodative and pro. Once we realized that the hotel lobby was down the escalator from the street, we were happy to be in a nice lobby and greeted by the friendly staff. The room was large with a kitchenette and an absolutely beautiful view of Honolulu Harbor.

The walls in the hall were scuffed and a bit raw, tho looked like new hall carpets .. Perhaps a renovation in progress. No food service.

The location requires driving to the main waikiki town, but we used the bus located beside the hotel to get to anywhere in Oahu. The property has a beautiful view of the town, we were on the 18th floor and the bedroom has an amazing view. The apartment is spacious with 2 flat screen tvs and fully equipped kitchen. This is a good value for money hotel and it exceeded our expectations. The lady in the front desk was very helpful and kind enough to help us make a booking on the excursion as we were travelling from UK and was unable to book online/phone.

The pool was closed when we were there(10am on 21st September)

Location was great. Staff was exceptional -- definitely went out of their way to help with my queries.

Although the parking was fine/essential, it was a pain having to park on a high level only to come down and get on the elevator to go to a room on a high level. Sometimes it took me longer to get out of the parking garage than it took to get to my destination!
