The hotel makes s great effort on beinf an ecology friendly place, therefore it is alsi a pet friendly hotel. A lot of guests take their dogs of all sizes to the hotel an they start defecating ans urinating in the lawn by the pool renddring an awful smell, specially when your in the pool since your nose is closer to the ground. Then the dogs started to drink water from the pool and two stray dogs urinated in the pool. That's when I had enough and left the poil. Also, the hotel restaurant installed a bar on the beach with music si loud it was inpossible to listen to a regular conversation inside the apartment. It lasted until 12:30 at night.

The apartment is really big. We really enjoyed the pool and the fact that it has no closing time so you can take a lovely swim at night.

There were SO MANY mosquitos, it was driving us crazy. Altough all windows had fly screens, there were a lot of mosquitos in the rooms everywhere we looked. Even after doing a couple of mosquito hunts, there were still so many... so please keep doors shut for the next visitors. Maybe there should be invested in new outside doors, because these doors do not close really well. It was an expensive stay, same price as 5 star all inclusive hotels. The interiors of the apartments are a bit outdated.

Both the location and the facility in general were exactly what we were looking for. It was in the sweet spot between the more active pueblo, and the “quieter” resort/rental end. We did come later in the season, so not sure what the comparison would be when it’s busy. The people who live in Las Terrenas made us feel welcome in their home. Thank you for being such a receptive location and beautiful staff. I hope anyone who comes to stay sees what a special place this is and treats it with the warmth and kindness with which it deserves.

It was really quite lovely. A few times there were some bar/pool music choices which weren’t what we were looking for (not interested in clubbing music at the beach) and definitely did enjoy the local/caribean/world music choices. And it would have been lovely to have a few more local fish options on the menu, but this is really minimal feedback, and for El Loro. So can’t really say it’s a negative, more a recommendation based on personal choices.

Gorgeous, secure location and facility on Playa Las Ballenas. Easy walking distance to center of town for shopping and restaurants, and beautiful beachside walk to Punta Popy and El Portillo. Friendly, professional, accommodating Dominican staff. Delicious daily breakfast buffet. Cosmopolitan, laid-back beach bar and pool (with swim-up bar). Perfect for couples or families seeking relaxation and connection to nature.

My husband pointed out that AC in apartment was strongest in bedroom and rather weak in kitchen, which was perfect for me. Otherwise, everything exceeded expectations.

Location of the hotel offers quick access to the beach connected with a restaurant/bar. Also outdoor swimming pool in the middle of the hotel complex with a cool bar at it was a nice thing. We liked the size of the hotel generally - far from mass isolated resort, its a complex of buildings with couple of flats in it, offering good privacy.

Reception was helpful at arrival and anytime we asked something, however when we asked for organized excursions they offered a price which was more than ~50USD expensive than any other tours provider in the city. After declining they called our room with decreased offer, still above. In such a 4**** hotel targeting "higher class tourists" we would have expected more reliable interaction and not "dominican style" of price barganining.

across road from beach but it’s a small road and it’s as good as being fully beachfront. Hood quality fairly priced restaurants. Well kept grounds. well equipped kitchen in our family room for 4. Short easy walk to other beach bars, restaurants in town etc.

Bit of a smell in rooms on the eastern wing but we changed rooms very efficiently and it was sorted. A little noisy if your rooms were close to the front. Couldn’t sign anything to the room. wifi a bit patchy and didn’t reach the beach as it did with other hotels and bars further along.

location and the beach bar.

our room was the third floor and very small. clean and comfortable but definitely an add on to the main rooms. very noisy from the lower unit - they were not noisy BUT because like I say the room was obviously maximizing space the walls were super thin so felt like we were in the same unit.

Everything was perfect, my friends, my husband and myself were very satisfied, we arrived early before the check in time , they gave us our apartment key facing the pool area, beautiful setting, nice crowd of friendly people. The breakfast was super delicious with a great choice of local fresh fruits, and juices. We will definitely go back to the Alisei hotel when visiting las Terrenas.

The garden can be nicer it needs to be supervised, the gardeners don’t know what they are doing.

They knew we were going because of my wife's birthday and the room was full of balloons and flowers because of it when we arrived. The entire staff is just too much and the overall facility (the room, the pool, parking lot, restaurant, etc.) is outstanding. There is a beach literally in front of the hotel and is good for swimming and snorkelling, but there are also others nearby (a few minutes walking) that are the bomb. Food in Las Terrenas is great, both for occasional meals (L'Industrie, for example) and also for fine dining (try Al Pasito and El Lugar). Truth be told, I wish we lived in Las Terrenas and specifically in Alisei.

Dinner at the restaurant was disappointing. Out of all the people working in the restaurant, those working in the night shift in the restaurant (El Loro) were just not compliant with the standard of the hotel. Even though the restaurant was packed (all tables were full), the service was not good and our dinner arrived late and cold and the quality of the food was not what we were expecting based on our experience with breakfast and some occasional lunches we had in the past in the same hotel. My recommendation would be to have breakfast in the hotel and all the other meals around town (there are some really good options in Las Terrenas for every kind of cuisine).

We loved the location and closeness to the beach and town. This was our third time staying here. I loved that my dogs could also stay there at no extra cost.

Many things went wrong like the fridge stopped working and the toilet didn't flush and the water shut off for a few hours but when we called someone came immediately to fix the problems.
