Out of our six nights in Luxor, we spent two nights here. Sadly, this hotel cannot compete with Iberotel's substantial discount at that time in terms of value. Nonetheless, still highly recommended! The main draws for staying here are (1) the landmarks' close proximity—four of them are only a short stroll away(if you like walking like us). When we stepped outside at 5:30 a.m., we saw the balloons being inflated between the fields across the street. We then strolled to the Monuments of Memnon and discovered ourselves alone admiring the statue with the balloons—it was breathtaking. Walking on the West Bank is more pleasurable and hustle-free, in our experience. (2) The owner of this locally owned business is a fantastic host. When you need help, he's there. The nicest aspect is that you don't waste time haggling—the quoted price for the taxi is almost the same as what we were able to negotiate while we were staying on the east bank. We’ve been the other hotels and their tour price are inflated. We had trouble arranging the train to Aswan online on our final night. He tried hard to helped us obtain a ticket but was unsuccessful. He then advised us to simply arrive early enough so that we can perhaps find a seat. The following day, a packed breakfast was provided and surprised us by driving us to the boat dock himself. Tips to avoid the crowds plan valley of the kings after 1pm or very early, 8am is late already. book your tickets online at egymonuments.com. You can walk between Luxor temple and Karnak temple via avenue of the sphinx and there’s ticket counter and check on the way closer to Karnak.

Breakfast and dinner at the hotel are basic but filling enough. That we only stayed for 2 nights.

We loved staying at the New Memnon Hotel! The owner, Said, was unbelievably helpful and arranged cars and drivers for us to visit the Valley of the Kings, Karnak and Luxor temples, a spice market in Luxor and a day trip to Dendera Temple of Hathor. The staff in the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was terrific with fruits, breads, felafels, juices, coffee and an omelette if you wished. The restaurant for the evening meal was also excellent with breads and dips followed by shish kebab or one of their chicken, fish or beef tagines. It was lovely in the evenings watching the hoodoos on the lawn while we were eating. There is a decent sized swimming pool as well and, although we didn’t use it it looked very very clean! Honestly, we loved staying here!

We could find nothing to complain about at all.

In an superb location to visit all of the west bank sites this was a stand out hotel during our tour round Egypt. The owner, Said, went more than the extra mile to make sure our stay was relaxed and comfortable. He is very knowledgeable about the area and organised transport to the sites without being over pushy and at reasonable prices. The food was excellent (taste, choice and presentation), the rest of the staff attentive and helpful, the room overlooking the garden lovely and the swimming pool a marvellous break after visiting the sites. Very highly recommended

Location was great on a week stay to do sightseeing at a leisurely pace, and of course the balloons coming over every morning was a huge bonus. The owner was a fantastic host and the staff were so helpful, the hotel cat was a character so take some treats 😺 very cheap $1 to get a tuk tuk down to the river and restaurants on the West Bank ( 10 minutes) there is a public ferry that goes over to the East Bank every 15 minutes $2 return when you visit Karnak. You can rent bicycles here as well and ride around the canals up to the Temples and even Valley of the Kings. 👍😎

The owner Mr. Farag and staff were very much a highlight of the stay. They were helpful in arranging events like a hot air balloon ride and taxi service to various tourist attractions. I appreciated the courtesy and the convenience of getting meals, even at off hours, and we took advantage of the cook when we wanted some special dishes. The rooms were nice and had nice views. I'm planning on returning and staying here - I think the west bank of the Nile is much more relaxing than central Luxor. The hotel is close to locations like the Valley of the Kings and the Ramesseum. Added - the food was very tasty. The breakfasts had quite a selection of meats, cheeses, breads, etc. The dinners were cooked to order, so all was fresh from the market that day.

The location of the hotel is very close to the hot air balloon and the Imperial Valley and Habu City, which made it convenient for us to go to the hot air balloon in the morning without having to get up too early, (we could also see some hot air balloons in the yard in the morning, just don't know how to get to the rooftop). The front desk staff is very patient and responsible, but also free to upgrade us to a garden view room, the hotel environment is very unique, surprisingly we ate the best local food in Luxor, recommended 👍

When we first checked in the room there was no electricity in the room so we had to wait for a while and it was really hot in Luxor.

We had an unforgettable stay at this hotel, mainly thanks to the incredible hospitality of Sayed, our host. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that we immediately felt at ease. Throughout our stay, Sayed made sure every detail was perfect, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The pool is a true oasis, impeccably maintained, and perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are spacious, clean. offering all the comfort needed for a pleasant stay. If you're looking for a place where you will feel truly welcomed, with service that makes all the difference, this hotel is the perfect spot. Thank you, Sayed, for your kindness and dedication! We will definitely return!

The owner stayed up until 4 am to check me in when my flight was delayed for a one night booking he could have easily canceled. Incredible. I extended my stay by four days because the vibe is fantastic, the grounds are beautiful, and it is so much more beautiful on the west bank. You couldn't make a better choice.

Taxis and tuk tuks are plentiful and cheap, but nothing is walking distance and you will need a cab to the ferry to cross the river. The experience at this hotel would be much improved if they would be willing to call or provide the number for an affordable taxi for guests on the go instead of committing them to full day "tours" with an expensive driver.

The hotel staff, food, and the outdoor space was absolutely fantastic. The hotel building itself had a homely touch throughout. Hotel owner Syed was very courteous. Even treated us with a platter of Ramadan special sweets which we very much appreciated. The food at the hotel is outstanding, mostly home made and delicious (especially the home made cheese and the cakes- absolutely delectable).Staff are all very friendly, kind and efficient (special nod to the kitchen staff). We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool- swimming under the open night sky itself was an experience. A word of caution though- the pool depth suddenly goes deeper and there are no signposts to flag this. This could be potentially dangerous for novice and unconfident swimmers. The outside dining area was also very relaxing and pretty- perfect place to enjoy your meal and a drink or two with your friends and family. One can also enjoy an early morning view of the hot air balloons flying right next to the hotel - if you time it right, the view can be stunning. The hotel is located right next to the Valley of the Queens and you can literally cover it walking. Overall we had a great time at the hotel and would highly recommend it.

The toilets need some maintenance, every time we had a shower there was water all over the floor. The floors looked like it could do with some good cleaning. Our suggestion would be to ask for poolside room bookings as the other ones literally had no view other than a overlooking a wall of the building next to it. Couple of friends in our group requested room cleaning but this was not done.
