The location was great, just opposite from the public ferry which takes you into the heart of Luxor. The room was great, the staff were very friendly.

The breakfast was OK, but nothing special - having a few more items would have been nice as it lacked substance.

Location is very convenient. Mini vans are right next to the hotel. Also the harbour for boats to cross the river. It has restaurant in the roof top.

Power electricity was cutted many times, but i assume it is some kind of problem hotel can't solve. WiFi is not so fast....

We had a lovely welcome at the Mesala, and after being shown our room we were taken up to the roof terrace where we were given a welcome drink and an explanation of where we were and what was available, with no pressure. The room is a little cramped, but adequate and the view from our balcony was fantastic, as was the view from the roof terrace. The breakfast was freshly cooked, the best we've had in Egypt, and the fresh orange juice is a treat. If you don't stay here, then definitely eat here! It is very well placed for trips to the Valley of the Kings, and right by the boat ferry and speedboat station to take you across to the Luxor Temple on the East Bank. You can wake up in the morning and watch the sun rise over Luxor Temple from the roof terrace. If you want to be in the mix and see things if you only have a short time as we did, this is the place!

The shower curtain is a bit of a challenge!

Location is excellent! It was amazing having a private balcony with a view of the Nile, nice to sit out and enjoy in the evenings. Pool was great for cooling off during hotter hours. Osama is very thoughtful and they didn't push the excursions on us which is great as we prefer to do our own thing. I much prefer these smaller places to the big soulless "fancy" hotels

Maaybe more variety at breakfast. The omelettes were nice though

We had an excellent stay at the El Mesala. It's the perfect place to stay for exploring Luxor. It's situated on the west bank of the Nile and small boats are available to hire in front of the hotel to take you over to the east bank. You get to see more of the real life of Egyptians on this bank. The view from my room was timeless. The hotel owner, Rakeem was a charming host who looked after us and we felt privileged to be invited back to his home to meet his family and eat supper with them. Rakeem introduced us to Ra who we employed to guide us around The Valley of the Kings and Queens. I was travelling with my Grandson who is studying Egyptology at university and the extremely knowledgable Ra was able to discuss the subject at a high level with him. Everything from the moment I made my booking was Perfect. Such a Lovely Family. The arranged collection fom Airport <--> Arranged boat across the River Nile <--> The Locals as i arrived off the boat <-> Check-in even when I had a bloody nose <--> to Room Service with Beautiful Egyptian Quisine <--> Arranged Hot Air Balloon and co-ordination there <--> Arranged Bicycle Rental which arrived the night before <--> Roof-Top Breakfast where the Owner gave me Special Egyptian Honey to try *yum* <--> Just Absolutely Beautiful People ... I had a very happy stay at El Mesala Hotel! The view from my balcony and from the roof terrace must be one of the best in the world! The hotel has a panoramic view over the Nile with the boats coming and going, and Luxor Temple itself! The location is very tranquil and with a 10 min walk you are in a green area that soon becomes agricultural fields. The colourful taxi boats that go to the east bank leave from directly in front. I ate at the hotel and enjoyed many cups of tea on the terrace. There are also some nice little Nileside restaurants just close by. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the hotel.

We had a family suite with a partial view of the Nile. Across the Nile we could see the ruins of Karnak/ Luxor. We loved the view from the upstairs restaurant. Absolutely spectacular view. Comfortable suite with enough beds for 4 people. Very nice!

When checking in, it seemed like the hotel manager(s) did not believe we really were booked in the hotel, so we had to present our Booking.com confirmation twice. That seemed unnecessary and it made us question our reservations. Luckily, by the next morning, after showing a second person our confirmation, they agreed we were confirmed. So that caused us stress that we would have preferred not to have experienced. Otherwise, everyone was very nice and accommodating,

My friend and I spent 4 days in ...hotel. It is not a five start hotel, but we were treated definitely like Kings 😁 All the stuff in the hotel was good, but Ahmed was especially helpfull and nice. He helped us to organise everything in the best possible way and we had an amazing experience because of that. The location is very good, breakfast is amazing and the view from roof top restaurant is just priceless. We definitely would recommend the place and we will stay there again when we come back

Perfect location, near both private and public ferry. The surroundings are enough quiet at night. Very good quality/price ratio. Good wifi. Staff available for any request and ready to solve any small or big issues. Room was essential, with everything needed to rest and get cleaned.

Not really an hotel problem: The surroundings really need to improve in term of road organization, maintenance and desiderability, but in time I hope it will. They are building a new road along the bank and the hotel would greatly benefit.
