Room service and kitchen staff were very nice.

On Booking. Com the ad said, that the room that I applied for was larger than most in McAllen. That was not the case. When I mentioned it to the front desk, he said that it was false advertisement. That was upsetting. I don't know if it was true or not. The room was missing a lamp, which made the room dull .

This is a beautiful and very charming property! The staff was so polite and very helpful. I called to ask for more towels and someone was at my door within a minute. the bartender was friendly and the food was excellent. Lots to explore on the property which was fun. Definitely staying again.

The quietness and the darkness of the room.

Replace thee torn seats around the pool. 3 of the 8 had torn mesh. The pool deck was dirty. Seemed like it had not been swept in a few days. The 3rd floor entrance door closure slams behind you and does not lock properly.

Absolutely love the history! The renovations of common areas are beautiful. Our room was very spacious and I loved having a view of the courtyard/pool. The restaurant meal was delicious. Chef Ari and server Oscar, made our visit memorable. We very much appreciated seeing staff in masks. This is an odd time as we begin to travel again. It made me very comfortable at this time to see staff and guests respecting each other by wearing masks. I also appreciated seeing the beautiful palms, so nicely trimmed. After the big TX freeze this past winter, we would have understood the grounds not being quite back to normal. But the property was lovely and tropical feeling!

The desk staff was a little slow at check in... handling phone calls etc. Just a little acknowledgement was all that was needed. The room seemed clean, but the bed was made in such a sloppy manner that it was sort of a flag. I honestly don't care if the dust ruffle and comforter are super crooked. That's how i make a bed. But to some that would suggest that the room was cleaned too quickly. I would have so enjoyed using the spacious balcony, but the 2 banquet type chairs were soggy from rain. Nesting birds also made the balcony a bit dirty for use. Just a little spiffing up and those balconies will be such a treat for guests!

The facility is wonderful and upkept. King size bed and our room were very clean. Our balcony overlooked the courtyard, which was lovely. The pool was large and felt great to beat the heat.

Wish the room was a little bigger, but that's just looking for a gripe.

The room had a bit a musty scent, and some of the fixtures were broken. Also they might need to update their current pool schedule the one posted outside by the pool isn't updated and the gate closes to me didn't get unlocked the entire day yesterday I mentioned it to one of the staff members and he mentioned talking to maintenance about it but it seems nothing was done.

The location is amazing. The pool is so great, and the rooms are pretty.

My room had ants. The carpet had stains and housekeeping didn't go to the room.

Booked at last minute and made a bad choice for room: rather small. Didn't have hand soap and body wash tube is too small for 2 persons

The whole feel of the hotel is like walking into the 40’s era. The room we booked was a king size with terrace view. I loved how cozy it felt just being in there. The terrace was a major plus! The swimming pool was great it even had side speakers so you could listen to music while you were in the pool. The bar was awesome we had some very good cocktails. The bed was very comfortable slept very well. Over all a great experience would definitely stay here again!

The elevators were a little outdated but still worked okay.
