The Hotel itself was very good, as expected.

Direction signs from Car Park No.1 were non existent. It was not clear which hotel was the Ibis and which was the Budget Ibis. Actually reaching the hotel on foot at night with heavy suitcases was a nightmare - there were no obvious access points or walkways and barriers preventing access once the hotel had been identified. We had to walk along roadways and through ground level car parks to reach the entrance. This needs serious attention.

The room was comfortable and clean. The pillows though needed some attention as they were not very comfortable to lie on.

The air conditioning was quite noisy and there was some sound of water drainage and dripping coming from another room which kept me awake for some time. Also a little more consideration was needed when people were walking down the corridor at 00:00 hours talking in very loud voices which also disturbed me. I had to get up at 3.00 am so this was not welcomed. I think it was a member of staff talking to a visitor about their room from what I could make out.

This is our third time of staying at the Ibis in Birmingham as its right next to the airport and convenient if you have an early flight. There is a restaurant area and also a bar if you want food and drink. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

I do find the rooms to be quite hot and the windows barely open which I'm assuming is due to health and safety. Reception did put a fan in the room though when asked. From my understanding, the aircon is not a cooling system but maintains a set temperature? but not everyone likes the same temperature hence I had to ask for a fan.

The highlight for me was the location of the hotel, as it was a two-minute walk from departures at Birmingham Airport which was ideal for an early morning flight. My room was spacious and comfortable. I was only there a few hours and had to leave too early to sample breakfast, but all in all it did the job, and I'd return in the future!

The carpet in the room could have been cleaner as I noticed quite a few bits on the floor near the skirting board. The bathroom was a wet room and again, it felt as though it could have been cleaner. I would have preferred a bog standard bathroom, but just a minor point really.

The hotel is just a few hundred yards from departures and not too far from the car parks, although it is a little bit of a walk, but there is a courtesy bus if you're lucky enough to be there when it picks up in the car park. The hotel has a restaurant with a reasonable selection of meals although like all restaurants these days it is expensive. The check in process was done in a minute I couldn't believe how fast and efficient it was. Our room was clean, tidy and quiet. a A great place to stay before our flight early in the morning.

The only thing I can say I didn't like was that the coffee in the restaurant which was far too strong, otherwise all good.

I requested a high floor room and view of runway if possible. They gave me exactly that. All the staff were so friendly. They had time for you and nothing was to much. The rooms were immaculate. Extremely good value for money. We will definitely be staying again. The food at breakfast was beautiful. The morning staff were brilliant also and very friendly. Overall the staff at the hotel i couldnt praise more.

There wasnt anything i didnt like. The only thing i suggest is to maybe give bar staff abit more training. Anita was brilliant. It was the other younger staff they were abit confused on drink orders when it came to spirits and mixers. Nothing id complain about though as everyone has to start somewhere and they were still friendly.

Check in was smooth and quick, no issues either on checking out. However, one member of the restaurant staff on my first night had a very poor manner and attitude towards patrons. I saw food being placed on the table, clattering down, and sighs when asked for napkins. For myself, I still waiting for the extra bacon for the chicken burger I ordered but decided not to draw that staff member upon me. Breakfast staff on day 2 were pleasant and polite. House keeping staff up on the floors were pleasant and chatty. A great night's sleep, never heard an aircraft.

The room was basic, but comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was spacious despite being in a pod, which was impressive. It had all we needed, the towels were changed daily and the toilet paper was topped up. We had a good night's sleep thanks to the blackout curtains and there was a fan/cooling device in the room to make sure we weren't too hot.

Everything around the hotel seems to be designed for cars and it was so hard to walk to the hotel from the NEC through all the car parks. I've also checked the price for the same dates next year and they are over double what we paid this year, which seems less than reasonable.

I came to Birmingham to visit an exhibiton at NEC. This hotel is the perfect choice for the aim. You wake up, having your breakfast and then walking to monorail (airrail) just 150 m. It works every 2 mins during day time, so no wait and missing time. It takes you to the NEC campus entrance just in seconds not a minute. Train station is at this point as well. Here you can walk to exhibiton halls directly, go to lake side, resorts world birmingham, casino and etc.
