The staff were very pleasant and the service had nice finishing touches, like drinks on arrival each evening - which was lovely. The main restaurant was also good, with a nice menu and properly cooked steak. Facilities on the whole were okay and the hotel was heated to a nice temperature. They also have good quality "Illy" coffee machines in the room - which was lovely. Our room had a safe (although it was hidden in a drawer which we didn't find until the last day). It also had an iron and board (fabulous addition). One suggestion - advertise more clearly what's in the room. It's nice to know in advance as a customer and should be a selling point.

The gym and spa (whilst of good size) are tired and need updating. The jacuzzi wasn't working during our five night stay and the steam room was out of action on the last day. We chose this hotel for it's facilities, so this was a bit frustrating but not the end of the world.

Really nice and accommodating staff. I booked the room last minute for my boyfriends birthday and asked them if they can do anything to the room and they had put some sweets on a plate with a happy birthday message and a card which i thought was very sweet considering i only booked it on the day. The breakfast buffet was very nice and had a lot of options.

The al a carte menu wasnt great, didnt have many options and had to pay additional money for certain things. Possibly they could make some changes to menu to improve it. Loved the cheesecake for dessert, probably the best thing from the menu.

Loved the location and its beautiful vibe. The staff were very accommodating and lovely. Reception greeted us. When we needed extra towels etc, they had them brought up to our room within 10 minutes of asking. Waitress in the morning remembered that my fiancé was lactose intolerant and asked if he would like a coffee with a milk replacement. A genuine touch customer service. Restaurant in the evening also has good food. Generally a really great place to stay. We also used the swimming pool, sauna, steam room. It was a nice stay. Would definitely stay again.

Fabulous setting so close to Solihull and surrounding area but in a beautiful, peaceful countryside setting. Delighted with how friendly and helpful ALL staff were from reception right through to the restaurant team. I have never seen so many staff working so hard together but with such enthusiasm, time and warmth for guests.The beds were so comfy that a deep, restful sleep was had all. Breakfast was stunning. A fabulous variety of choices, beautifully prepared and presented from pancakes to fruit and full English breakfast. Even a chef on hand to cook your choice of omelette fresh in front of you. Utterly divine in flavour! Only wish we could have had more time to explore the grounds and surrounding area, as we had a wedding to attend, but that just means we will visit again as a holiday base or weekend break.All three of us, had a wonderful time that a one night stay had felt like so much more. Thank you to everyone who made our stay special including those unseen heroes too.

Just a small but very useful point. Would have liked a small table by the two beds on the sides furtherest from the central table between the beds. Useful to put drinking water on and for things like a phone, book and tablets without having to get out of bed or wake up my husband during the night.

facilities and staff were great, rooms were clean. the pool was nice, but the hot tub could have been a tad warmer . we liked the Halloween decorations and the play room for the kids. My grandson especially liked the treasure hunt. an option for pillows would be good as my husband loved the pillows, but I thought they were really soft.

more things for children, especially outside, considering it has so much land you would have thought there would have been a little park for them. I asked for an ice bucket to chill some champagne as I celebrated a birthday, but it never arrived, I had to go to the bar after waiting over an hour.

Breakfast was fully of variety and gave many options. Dinner had two types of menu and had very large additional costs when a beef item was chosen. Our meals were tasty and had good content with some attention to detail. Service was very good and staff generally very attentive. We were very well recieved and shown great kindness. The mixture of a major old property, modernised and delivering a fine golf course in magnificent country grounds was hard to beat. As a one night travel break we rated this overall as extremely good. The reception team were universally kind and helpful and made us feel very 'at home'. There are many facilities at this hotel that we did not use, gymn, spa, swimming pool. Also huge facillities for weddings and conferences.

There were elements of our disabled room that were 'tired' - the leather seat was very worn and the shower had a very heavy control and a shower head that seemed to wet most of the bathroom. The shower curtain was high off the base tiling and after a shower you had to spend some time drying the area before you dried yourself.

Very impressed with the Reception staff who remembered our names each time we went to Reception and were always very helpful. Pleasant room with a lovely view (as requested) across the grounds & countryside. Enjoyed a beautiful walk around the fishing lakes at sunset. Lovely to see the deer roaming happily around the golf course too. The breakfast staff were excellent, as was the breakfast.

Sadly the spa was disappointing - tired decor and felt like a public leisure centre. Our waitress in the evening was very forgetful.

All of the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The location was perfect and the grounds beautiful and very well maintained. Fabulous breakfast every morning with plenty of choice. Very comfortable beds with good quality linen and big towels.

The room was very dated and in need of refreshing. For the price we would expect a more modern bathroom (it was very worn), a better shower (head too low and not much spray), the furniture in the room was very old with a lot of wear and tear and a coffee machine (or better quality instant sachets).

My first impression was of the grounds of the hotel. Beautifully looked after, perfectly manicured lawns, lovely flower displays, clean gravel with no weeds and inside lived up to first impression. Spotless, light and airy. The staff in all areas, reception, restaurant, and bars were polite and helpful. They all looked happy in their work.

There was nothing to dislike. I could see no areas that needed improvement. My room was spotlessly clean, with shiny chrome and glass, unsoiled carpets, comfortable chairs and bed. The food at dinner was delifghful and piping hot and breakfast catered for everyone's needs and preferences.

The staff in particular were amazing. Very friendly and the service in the bar was particularly attentive.

Cobwebs in bathroom was a shame. Tea making facilities were really dated and would expect more from Marriott. No coffee machine in the room :( Cutlery in the bar was 3 different pieces from different patterns / manufacturers. Not from the same set , Breakfast was lovely but again the tableware didn't match the overall experience. Seems a shame to have such wonderful staff and food and not provide equipment on the same level as the rest of the experience. £50.00 surcharge that is returned if unused is not explained anywhere in booking and not explained well at reception. Although reception were very helpful and friendly. Can't fault the staff.
