Friendly staff. Lovely room. Very dog friendly. Excellent on-site restaurant. Good position being a close walk to the old town and walls surrounding it. They even have a swimming pool in the grounds although when we were there, the weather wasn’t really conducive to its use.

Everything is lovely but they need to rethink their position on Electric Vehicle Charging. We came here a while back and EV charging was FOC. Now, it’s the same chargers but the hotel is charging 1.00 euro per KWh. This is little short of extortionate. The hotel would be better served to invite a Car Charging company to provide chargers with the fee paid to them. Around 40 cents per KWh is normal. Some chargers ask for 30 cents, others 50 cents. 50 cents we would pay. 1.00 euro we won’t, especially given that we still have free charging miles on our Tesla at a Tesla charger, which is close to Angouleme. This is simply a matter that needs to be addressed and in no way reflects on the Hotel, which is quite lovely.

The hotel is beautiful and in a central location. It is a former abbey and is picturesque but a 2 minute walk into the town. The restaurant was excellent for dinner and the breakfast was also great. We loved the pool and the beautiful grounds. It was great heading into town for shopping and drinks and then returning to be this oasis

Excellent location a few minutes walk from the city centre, but with ample adjacent parking owned by the hotel. Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Lovely room, spacious, modern decoration with a large covered balcony with table and chairs outside. Large walk-in shower in the bathroom and separate wc.

Unfortunately the hotel's restaurant was closed this week for holidays.

The hotel is beautiful and quite unique. The bed/mattress was very comfortable and the black out curtains were great. The food in the restaurant was very nice and the 1st night the service was fantastic. The pool is perfect.

Had dinner there. We each just ate a main course. The best I can say about the food is that it was edible. The food was lukewarm / cold, unseasoned and very basic. Such a pity. Waitress service delightful. Surroundings pleasant.

The building from the outside is very beautiful and the gardens and outdoor terrace was gorgeous. Our room which was newly renovated was fabulous. Very spacious with a very comfortable bed . There was also a large balcony overlooking a very quiet street

I thought the charge of 18 euro per person fir breakfast was expensive. There was not a wide choice

Wonderfully situated within the old city walls. Spectacularly beautiful setting and beautifully presented accomodation. Free off-street parking. Very dog friendly. Stylishly decorated. Excellent restaurant. Highly recommended.

A bottle of wine and snacks were put out in our room which could perhaps appear to be complimentary, indeed for the cost of the room might be assumed to be so, but only by getting down on our hands and knees to read the price list on the door of the minibar did we discover that they were actually chargeable, and pretty expensive too. Breakfast pricey so we walked 5 minutes through the old streets of Angouleme and found a perfectly good French cafe at a fraction of the cost.

The property is beautiful. It's located right next to a large historic church and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and cafes. The in-ground pool was amazing and the staff was very helpful. The in-room breakfast on our last day was lovely. It was also cool that the actors and crew from the movie, "The French Dispatch", stayed at the hotel and we enjoyed viewing the movie memorabilia on the walls.

I didn't receive any information about the wi-fi and we didn't have a safe in our room.

Loved the location and very pleasant, welcoming staff. Just a short walk to the Old Town and the shops and bars. Beautiful setting with a "tepid" outdoor pool - very welcome on a hot day! They generously gave us a large, elegant "easy access" room (wet room with grab rails in the shower and by the lavatory: ideal for my frail husband). We did not eat breakfast here nor did we try dinner but the Menu looked lovely! Super Stay; highly recommend this pretty hotel.

Even though travelling with our dog, we were upgraded to an exceptionally luxurious room with view over the pool and garden. Very good city centre location and with an adjacent enclosed public park for exercising the dog. Staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Food was excellent.
