The location was perfect- at most a seven minute walk from anywhere we wanted to visit in Bayeux, and the view of the Cathedral was beautiful. In addition, it was maybe a five minute walk from the jumping-off point for the D-Day tours, which my partner and I very much appreciated with the early start. Breakfast every day was delicious, we definitely looked forward to waking up each morning and enjoying it. The room itself was spacious and comfortable and came equipped with everything we needed. It was easy a couple times during our stay to just sit in the room a while and enjoy the view with an espresso and a pastry from one of the nearby bakeries.

No complaints worth mentioning.

The room was large, very comfortable and beautifully decorated, and had a separate kitchen. We especially loved the private garden with flowers, seating and a friendly cat, and the location of the hotel was excellent. We're grateful to Frank for his excellent restaurant recommendations, as they needed booking ahead of time.

Breakfast was lovely but we would have liked a little more variety such as muesli and fruit salad. We stayed on the ground floor and had heavy luggage which was fine, but there was a narrow spiral staircase which would have made carrying luggage upstairs difficult if we'd been on a higher floor. The wi fi password printed inside our door wasn't spelled correctly so we took a while to work it out. We had to pay a tax on the last day in cash, so it's worth taking some cash. Another small point is we would have liked some brochures about Bayeux in the hotel, and instructions about where to park.

Manoir Saint Victoire is an exceptional bed and breakfast that I would recommend to anybody looking for a cozy, luxurious and homey accommodation right in the heart of Bayeux. Frank is an incredible host; he makes homemade breakfast each morning to your liking, including fresh pastries and produce from the local market. The rooms are well-appointed and beautifully designed, with brand new interiors all in a beautiful 14th century tower! The town is very walkable and Manoir Saint Victoire is very close to all of the sites in Bayeux but does not feel like you are a tourist, rather that you are a local in a cozy French town.

Superb central location, very unique staying in a turret tower, plus very exclusive as we only saw maximum 4 other people staying. The owner was a very pleasant guy who helped us out with locations to eat for our stay. Breakfast in the morning was always a pleasant experience, fresh croissants & bread along with a freshly cooked omelette to your liking, along with fresh melon & yogurts. Great little garden to have your own drinks if desired as the kitchenette had a fridge. A very relaxing atmosphere & will definitely book again if we go back to Bayeux.

Absolutely stunning building, restored to perfection. Our room was spotless with a really conformable bed, lovely furnishings and a separate toilet and bathroom within the room. The room also has a kitchenette with a fridge, kettle and coffee machine. Well situated in the town with the main streets within 5 minutes walk. Breakfast was plentiful and in the main kitchen of the house. The host, Frank, was a true gentleman, and even if he said his English wasn't perfect, it was 100% better than our French, but we got through it no probem at all. Highly recommended. One piece of advice would be to ask for some milk if you are intending on a late night or early morning beveridge as there is none in the room unless you enjoy black tea or coffee.

Nothing was wrong with it.

Charming buildings with comfortable and spacious rooms. This located on prime location, walking distance to the city center, cathedral, museums, restaurants, etc. Excellent breakfast. The host is very nice and attentive to details. The closest D-day landing sites such as Omaha Beach is 20-25 minutes by car, the farthest which is Utah Beach is 50 minutes. Mont Saint Michel is one hour and half away. In our experience renting a car was the best, roads are in good condition, an easy and relaxing drive from town to town. Parking was not a problem.

Nothing.

This was the prettiest room I've ever stayed in. It had a rustic princessy feel to it, beautifully decorated! And it was in a literal tower with a spiral staircase. I literally felt like a princess. The host was very nice and the breakfast included was homey and wonderful (the host made us omlets! Plus croissants, fruit, coffee, juice). Great location on a quiet street, less than 10 min walk to the museums, shopping, and restaurants, with free street parking less than 5 min walk away. The bed was insanely comfortable, especially if you like mattresses and pillows on the softer side. The mattress had a topper on it and the pillows were large and fluffy.

I personally loved the spiral staircase, but if you are mobility challenged or pack heavy with large or multiple suitcases, it may be hard to climb the stairs up and down. Obviously, no lift available.

Our host Frank met us at the door and showed us to the room, helping with our luggage. The house and the room are absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. All of the facilities and finishings were of the highest quality. The bed and linens were no exception. Breakfast was fantastic and Frank could not offer enough. Freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit, cheeses, breads, croissants and coffee/tea. Hot selections were cooked to order, I highly recommend the omelettes. The manor is located in a perfect location on a quiet lane but within minutes of restaurants and attractions (i.e., the Bayeux Tapestry Museum is only a 5 minute walk). There is free parking available around the Charles DeGualle park, just meters away. Frank helped us find the best restaurants in town also.

Having to leave....

Perfectly located to all the sites in Bayeux. The host, didn’t speak much English, but enough to understand and communicate . He was very accommodating and friendly, with plenty of wonderful dinner suggestions. We had a car and there was only street parking, but it wanted to difficult to find a spot. The room was lovely, located in an old tower that was beautifully renovated. It was the perfect balance of old and new. The garden is peaceful and the omelet at breakfast was much appreciated.

The stairs can be treacherous with a large bag, but if you take it slow it is no problem.

We were greeted by our host and shown to our room in an incredible tower attached to the main house. The room was beautiful, so tastefully decorated. Very comfortable bed with lovely linen. There was a small kitchenette with everything you would need for making drinks or even something simple to eat. The shower room was lovely with double basins. Breakfast was served in the main house and we were offered omelettes along with a lovely continental breakfast. It was a perfect location and a lovely stay. We would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be returning. Thank you !

Nothing….everything was perfect!
