We read about Le Saphir in the Sunday Times - booked to come in April, but after 2 flight cancellations managed to get here in June! well worth the wait Warm welcome from excellent hosts with lots of helpful local information, nice touches like offer of hairdryer, beach towels, wine glasses and corkscrew - and when the weather got hot a fan arrived in the room we had Room 3 with a balcony overlooking street - great for people watching. Good sized room - quiet in evening - and great shower room with lots of shelving /storage. all very clean and well maintained. Simple breakfast served in courtyard or breakfast room. All very good.

Great location close to a small beach, lots of restaurants within the area, very friendly staff, clean room, were able to store our hire bikes in the small garden

No tea or coffee making facilities, small room, website very deceptive says continental breakfast served in the south facing patio so assumed breakfast included as you couldn't pay prior to arrival, €7.50 each breakfast (bread, croissant, jam, coffee/tea juice) expensive

The location of this place was amazing as it is right near a bunch of restaurants and bars, as well as a 5 minutes walk to the beach. The room was really clean and spacious and the staff were really helpful.

The hotel is quite close to a bar that doesn't close to 2am. I was only staying at the hotel for one-night mid-week, and there were still people drinking and being a tad loud until midnight. It wasn't a major issue but be conscious of this if staying at the hotel during the weekends.

Great location only minutes walk from beaches, shops and bus routes. Rooms super clean and fresh, little balcony for fresh air. Good pressure in shower.

The twin room has exactly enough space to move around the beds (if they are pushed together in the middle) and no more. We managed fine and were ok with it as a place just to sleep but it isn't roomy. Very small bathroom, could only just sit down on loo with my knee pressed almost to the wall.

We booked our room, upon which a message was sent that we had the last room on the bottom floor beside the reception. I noted my disappointment, and we were offered money back cancellation. As it happened I am so relieved we stuck with it. Again on check in THE MOST delightful man checked again if we wanted to cancel and were happy with our room. It turned out to be quiet, comfortable, and clean. The position of the hotel was perfect, in the thick of the action without the noise. We were there 3 nights and enjoyed every one of them. Couldn't recommend this place more

Nothing not to like

The location was close to the beach and many bars and restaurants. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel after check out while we explored the city.

The bed mattress was not very comfortable. We had the feeling we were sinking into the mattress and lacked back support.

We only stayed for a couple of nights due to the availability (May long weekend); the room was quiet and comfortable with a great bed and a large, clean bathroom with plenty of hot water. A continental breakfast was provided at an additional cost (€7); tasty and filling. The hostess (Annie) was friendly and attentive, providing heaps of local information and ensuring we were comfortable. The hotel was in a central location, close to the beach, port, under-cover market, bars and restaurants.

Such a great hotel. Staff were lovely to us, the room was beautiful, cosy, everything worked. We felt very good in it. Right in the tourist area. Close to the beach, 5 mis walk to where you can bathe in sea. We would definitely return there.

We had to re-enter the password to the wifi every time we returned to the hotel, but this was a very small thing.

Great location, very accommodating and friendly staff. Great breakfast of croissants, bread, butter, jams, juice and coffee. Would definitely stay again!!

First night we arrived it was unusually hot and there is no aircon. But this I think is quite common not to have one. There was a fan. When it cooled down it was perfect.

Close proximity to beach, old port and town. Spacious room. Excellent shower Nice breakfast served in courtyard. Fabulous communication from Annie when I had left a kindle in the room. On two occasions she tried to contact me and was most helpful in returning it to me, thank you Annie!
