amazing place, would stay again

our only gripe was they offered an airport pickup and said it was €90. it’s a 25 minute journey and we got an cab at the airport which was €30. definitely recommend the hotel but sort your own taxi!

Very nice boutique hotel in a charming and quiet neighbourhood. The team is very nice and will make sure you have a great stay. They take the time to call you before you arrival to personalise your stay. And they have all the essentials for families with babies from baby-cot to baby chair, changing mat, bottle heater... Every room and suite is unique as this hotel has different buildings which makes it very charming. From a smaller suite with a jacuzzi to apartment size suite with home cinema room and in-room sauna The swimming pool area is very relaxing and quiet with a nice selection of drinks and food. The on-site gastronomic restaurant "La table de Montaigne" from Chef Younesse Bouakkaoui is a must try for the experience, the food and the wine. The SPA has a great skilled team and with nice treatments. A must stop. Thanks to all the team at Palais Gallien for making our stay here a great experience.

Some suites are only accessible via stairs which could be difficult for families with babies. Make sure to let the team know so they can suggest the best option. It would great to have a kids menu option but I have been told its coming soon.

Loved the room, it was comfortable and had everything we needed, staff were friendly, polite and efficient, We had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was excellent. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the area and a beautiful public park. We visited some wonderful museums and had went on a great wine tour.

We did not have breakfast in the hotel as we don't usually eat breakfast and at 28 euro per person we thought it would not have been worth it for us. The pool was smaller than expected with not much room for sun loungers so it got crowded very quickly and if a few children were in the pool it was not possible to swim so we didn't really use the pool which had been one of the reasons we booked it, but is did not spoil our stay

The pool area was glorious. Very family friendly and the very well positioned with the sun. The Voltaire Suite was fantastic despite it being quite thin I didn’t feel cramped for a family of 5. Hotel service was immaculate. Well done. Thank you for making the room special for my wife and daughter’s birthday parties with balloons, a lovely touch. Fully deserving of your 5 stars! Reception staff were brilliant, very helpful with bookings and assisting our travel. Thank you. They were brilliant at booking taxis for us when we were stuck out in Bordeaux! Amazing restaurant too. Tres bien!

Breakfast was too expensive so we didn’t have it especially with 3 children. Perhaps a lighter cheaper option should be possible - like some croissants? Swimming Pool step very steep, dramatic step to the bottom. No warnings.

The staff were all very friendly attentive and accommodating. There is a lot of attention to detail including welcome note, patisseries, fruit, wine etc when you arrive in the room. Our room on the second floor of the original building, was very spacious and comfortable although all the chrome decor is not our taste, however, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed with wonderful Nuxe guest amenities. The breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choice and a range of breads, cakes and patisseries. The hotel is a good walk into the old town but we managed it easily enough on both the night we arrived and the following morning. The hotel recommended and reserved a table for us at a very good restaurant; 1925; typical French Brasserie. Bordeaux is a beautiful city to walk around and explore; and so many lovely foodie speciality places, restaurants and sidewalk cafes looking out onto the many ‘Places’. We do wish we had stayed an extra night as we did not get an opportunity to avail ourselves of the pool or spa facilities!

Unfortunately on the night we stayed the fire alarm wen off which disturbed our sleep and took the hotel staff a short while to disarm it. The staff were all very apologetic about it the following day.

I liked the breakfast in the garden close to the swimming pool. The hotel is in a comfortable position, walking distance to the city center. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are quiet, and the hotel is quiet. The swimming pool is open 24/7 and due to the heat wave we experienced during our stay, it was great to find the swimming pool available after dinner!

we slept on the sofa bed to leave the bedroom for our daughters and I must say it was not comfortable, we reported it to the staff. Things that happen.

The hotel is beautiful. We stayed in the Montaigne suite and our lovely room and beautiful bathroom overlooked our gorgeous private rooftop terrace with a private hot tub. We spent hours admiring the view and star gazing. The grounds are beautiful with an outdoor pool and very relaxing spa area. Location was fantastic and we walked everywhere.

The food was amazing but we would have liked to see a few more things on the room service menu- possibly a few sandwiches for light meals after a day at the wineries.

The staff are absolute perfection and well deserving of 5 stars. They helped us with everything we needed very promptly and were always smiling. The property is in a nice location very near to the park and tram or walk to city center in about 15 min or less. We enjoyed the beautiful heated pool and hot tub. It was very peaceful and room well soundproof. Breakfast was extremely high quality and I’m really going to miss it. Thanks again to the fantastic staff for a great stay!

It’s a bit expensive. Please consider to offer a much better variety of TV channels in different languages (currently French language only) and a blow dryer that doesn’t force people to hold the on button. Also include at least one veggie item at breakfast.

Stunning small hotel in a quiet location in the city. Perfect for solo travellers or couples. A private jacuzzi outside the room was worth the extra. Stunning rooftop bar for a cocktail...if maybe it closed a bit early! The pool area is compact but ideal for cooling off, and it was much needed. Hotel never felt crowded or too busy even thought it was full. Very helpful and attentive staff, especially Charles. A shower room is available if you have a late flight and need to check out.

Only a small gripe...some glasses were left on the table outside our room for a few days without being taken away...
