Friendly staff, the lady at check-in was very helpful (even with the language difference!), she kindly arranged for a breakfast tray to be put in our room the night before an early morning start as we were going out before they served breakfast, which was great. The room was spotlessly clean for our whole stay. Location was good for walking to the city centre or down to the river.

Room was quite small (although nice big bed) but fairly typical for a city centre hotel, and unusual bathroom that was more like a cupboard! Had to keep window closed at night even though it was warm due to the traffic noise, but couldn’t be helped. Paid parking was available right outside the hotel but it was difficult to work out the time restrictions and whether we needed to move the car (not the hotel’s fault, but just a heads up for future guests).

Location: - A short walk to and from the SNCF train station - Not far from the Château de Caen. Only a few kilometers from the memorial du Caen. At the memorial du Caen you can book a guided tour to the American military cemetery and d-day beaches for a great price. The memorial is within walking distance and is definitely worth a visit. Room: very clean and the bed was comfortable. The view from the windows was my favorite part (see photo). Was perfect for a solo traveler but would work for a couple also. Staff: the staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a young woman there when I checked in and she explained everything very well and was very nice. The next two days there were two men working who were there for breakfast and were very hospitable.

The only thing I wish I could have done was check in before 1500 (3pm).

The property is situated near both city center and train station. The room was very clean and quiet with a view of the Saint Jean church nearby. The reception is open all day long and it was possible to leave my luggage for c. 8 hours after check-out which was very convenient.

There is no elevator. My room was at the 4th floor, and it was a bit difficult to lift my heavy luggage up there on my own. The breakfast was below average, and one is asked to opt for it the day before, specifying the hour one intends to have breakfast.

Good location between train station and town centre and literally 3 mins from the tram stop. Typical French breakfast with croissant and baguette with butter and jam (cheese, ham and yogurt also available). Friendly staff who offered to take my suitcase up the four flights of stairs and kept my luggage on the day of departure.

The room was very small, but since I was alone it didn't matter. The bathroom was very small too, but it had everything needed.

The location of the apt was central and convenient. Railway station approx. 15mins walk, plenty of restaurants nearby. The view from our room towards the church behind was great, especially in the evening. There were proper blinds for the windows, covering from the sun. The bed was good and we got a good sleep, no noise from the traffic. Would recommend this hotel for a overnight stop-over.

We paid extra for the bigger room, the promise was 20m2, but the room was clearly smaller, although the bathroom was quite big - not giving that much of the value. There was any table for eating, no kettle or coffee maker. The room did not have air-conditioning, but the air flowed well, when you opened the window in the room and the bathroom.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast for €8 was plentiful. There was secured parking for my motorbike at the rear of the premises for €8 a day which is a bargain compared to some larger hotels charge €18 a day .

The hotel is great: really well located, near the train station and the city center; the staff is lovely and really helpful; the room had a nice size and it was well organized; and the breakfast was also pretty good.

I can't actually think about anything bad. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but this information is really explicit from the beginning, both on the website and in the confirmation of the reservation.

Hotel du Havre is in a central location easy to walk to fabulous places of interest, William the Conqueror’s castle, cathedral and churches. also shops and restaurants. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very accomodating and went above and beyond to assist us navigate the town.

Nothing - this is an unpretentious and good value hotel central and comfortable.

The rooms were clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were absolutely lovely. It's in a great location, too, between the old town and the rail station.

My husband and I are both tall (my husband is 6 foot, 5 inches), and we didn't fit on the full-size bed, so we had a terrible night's sleep!

Delightful room with comfy bed, nicely decorated throughout, good breakfast, friendly helpful staff. I was able to store my bike securely. Central location.

My room was 4 floors up with no lift...not for everyone, make sure you get a lower floor if you find stairs difficult.
