I travel globally for business at least 120 days per year and Hotel La Mère Germaine is one of those very rare instances where they exceeded my high expectations and do so in every manner. The staff is outstanding, very attentive and so willing to go beyond normal to help their guests. I not only experienced this but also noticed that it was freely given to all their guests. The hotel and rooms are also very modern, stylish and exceedingly comfortable. They have two restaurants essentially across the street. Since I travelled with two dogs, I decided to eat at the Bistro and the food was creative, fresh and delicious. Of course the local wine needs no comments. On my next stay - and there will definitely be several next stays - I will hopefully eat at the main restaurant.

Everything was perfect and exceedingly enjoyable. Highly recommended!!

The rooms above the restaurant are great, some have views on the valley and offer great views, some on the street but no noise. The reception is in another building a few meters away so it might be confusing when check in. The rooms are very clean and spacious. What makes the stay unforgettable is the visit to the restaurant that is worth 2 stars (it is a 1 star Michelin), great food, fantastic wine list, excellent service, nice terrasse with view on the vineyards but inside is lovely with paintings on the walls. A great place to visit when in Chateauneuf du pape, right in the heart of the village.

Everything was great, a little pricy though...

The hotel was modern, beautiful, and the room very well-appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable. The Michelin-starred restaurant on the property was exceptional. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, polite, and accommodating. We loved our stay here.

We had a unique situation arise that would not affect every guest: We had to check out before the hotel's registration desk opened (to catch an early train to another EU country). Once the registration desk opened that morning, I called the hotel to pay electronically, and they sent me a link to do so (so far, so good). HOWEVER: The hotel's electronic payment gateway does not work with foreign credit cards (USA cardholder of Amex, Visa), which in 2022, for a hotel of this distinction, is mind-boggling. We spoke to the property multiple times - they were extremely polite - and now that we are back stateside, will be arranging a wire transfer for payment.

The attention to detail at every turn. The helpful and friendly staff with their wonderful English. They went above and beyond with all requests and even brought a dog treat to our room for our little dog. We had dinner at their bistro which is just down the road which had beautiful food, wine and mojitos. We did not want to leave the terrace. Such a wonderful treat to stay in such a beautiful hotel.

Nothing. Pricey but worth every cent.

We booked this hotel at the last minute after finding it difficult to find any availability in the area due to a national holiday long weekend. We had resigned ourselves to driving through the night to return home. The staff were fabulous and went out of their way to help us as we arrived quite late in the evening. Celine reserved a table for us at the hotel’s sister restaurant, who kept their staff working late just for us! I have never experienced service like this from a hotel. The 2 room suite was spacious and comfortable. The sofa bed for our son was more comfortable than my bed at home! The hotel had a lovely child-friendly spa area in the basement.

The breakfast was disappointing. €18 for coffee, juice and croissants. As we were leaving, we noticed that the table behind us had been served a variety of hot dishes, which was not offered to us. I suggest that you go to the cafe just next door. We were surprised that the mini bar was empty. Being in the heart of wine country, it would have been nice to have some of the local wine. You cannot guarantee parking as the advertised parking is the public car park - approximately a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Not a huge problem, just something to be aware of.

An exceptional hotel right in the middle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Wine tastings almost at the door, a short walk to the castle for a view over the town and very close to the local vineyards. Staff were very helpful and always accommodating! If you get a chance to eat in their Michelin starred restaurant, it is an amazing experience on it's own! Highly recommended!!

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful--hats off to Pierre, Camille and Ludy. Location was right in the middle of the tiny village, easy walking to the nearby restaurants and the Chateau, and easy drives to vineyards, Avignon, Pont du Gare etc. Our room was good size and very nicely appointed.

Stunning little hotel in the centre of Chateauneuf du pape. Wonderful staff, beautiful decor everywhere, huge bedrooms, and fantastic Michelin star restaurant. We will return for some more wine tasting and stay here every time!

We had a problem with our luggage at the airport and the staff went out of their way to help us and allowed us to keep the room until after we should have checked out. Sibi was particularly helpful.
