This is a very special place. We stayed on a cold night on December and received the very warmest welcome from the owner Didier. He tells wonderful stories about former guests Siegfried Sassoon and Earl Haig. The interiors are filled with a lovely collection of antique furniture, paintings, drawings, and books, all exquisitely arranged. The house, and our room, were impeccably clean. The room was beautifully furnished, and we really appreciated the pristine, monogrammed, thick, white, cotton bedsheets. Gorgeous. Breakfast was beautifully presented with fine china and table linen. Perfect croissants, baguette, home made jam, and fresh juice and coffee. We would love to return in the summer to enjoy the garden and pond that Sassoon loved so much. We highly recommend a stay at this magical place.

Nothing!

This is a quirky and amazing property with lots of history that Didier, the owner, is happy to tell you about. It is lavishly furnished, with lots of art both collected by Didier and also done by him. The gardens are large with a pleasant walk around the lake with seats to sit and take in the views and wildlife. Plenty of parking onsite and wi-fi is good. The room did not have a kettle or tea/coffee making facilities but you are able to use the kettle in the breakfast room. There is no tv in the room but there is a communal lounge on the ground floor. Breakfast was quite basic, a croissant (butter and selection of jams), yogurt and cereals, and although we went down for breakfast at 8am we saw no one so it was very much self service which is fine but just felt odd not seeing anyone not even Didier. Excellent location, less than an hour from ferries and tunnel.

Was disappointed that check in was moved from 4pm to 5pm. After a long drive we were keen to get settled in before going out for something to eat, as it was we had to detour to Arras so as not to turn up too early. Personally, I think 4pm is a little too late for check in let alone 5pm. It's certainly something I will take note of when booking anywhere again.

A particularly precious place to stay for a few days close to the banks of the Lys. The dignified building exudes a lot of prestige, but the jovial, sympathetic owner Didier remains modest and lets you fully enjoy the calm and tranquillity in this unique historical setting full of art and culture. We will not only remember the extensive breakfast and the many 'bonnes tables' Didier recommended us, the suite on the first floor he offered us instead of the booked (simple) room and the ideal location for many walks and trips were also wonderful.

Good location, close to the motorway, easy to find. Didier, the owner, was great host. The house keeps the atmosphere and spirit of the past. Didier was provided us with guide of the best local restaurants where we passed enjoyable time. We also tried the wine produced by the family - natural and strong.

Only, that I had to drive to and from restaurants.

This is a dreamy place to stay. It’s the second and not the last time we visit. The owner, Didier, is a super host, charming and knowledgeable, he always makes us feel we are in a home away from home. Would absolutely recommend this “Zen” house, something really special about it.

The Château is out of this world! So much history and beauty. The owner, Didier, is the most charming and interesting man and he looked after us impeccably. His house, the “Zen” house is just dreamy and we have fallen in love with it. Didier will tell you about the best places to eat of which there are aplenty. I truly hope I will visit the Chateau again soon! Merci Didier!!

Nothing, it was perfect!

The shower didn't run very well, the water was nice and hot though.
