The location was great. In the middle of the city, but quite easy to get to, not too far off the main road and not that much traffic, even in rush hour. There was a restaurant just outside the front door - but not attached to the hotel, so you couldn't get a plate of chips on the room service menu! Having breakfast in the room was a real treat, we grew quite accustomed to it! The breakfast was very tasty, nice, fresh, large croissants and pain au chocolat. A good range of options, fresh or dry fruit, juice, bread, cheese, cereal, yoghurt etc. Very good. Comfy beds, spacious room, clean bathroom, great breakfast, optional extras like laundry (which we didn't use), room service (but not on a Friday or the weekends, which is a shame).

It would have been a really great treat to have room service on a Friday and at the weekend, because having to get out of your PJs to take the lift down to the ground floor and walk 2 yards out of the front door to the restaurant seemed so far away! The towels were big enough to fit around my large bum, but a bit longer / wider etc would have been nice.

V good location and lovely room overlooking square. Friendly / helpful staff - particularly on reception on our check-in. I left my handbag in taxi and she tracked them down & my handbag was returned.

It would be helpful if reception were able to give better directions to railway station. We were walking with a lot of bags and directions were not particularly clear.

Very good location, with short walk to the old quarter and eating places nearby. Also only 10 minutes walk from the station for a day trip out. Staff very friendly and helpful and bedroom clean, comfortable and good size.

Coffee at breakfast was poor, machine did not work well and would have liked real coffee served at the table. A shame as everything else about breakfast was very good.

The receptionist was very helpful and gave us maps of the town and bus routes to all areas of interest. Gave us directions to the Old Town area and explained the best time to go for meals and places to eat. The room was well air conditioned and comfortable. Very clean and quite room and the extra security of having to use your room key card to access the lifts to the rooms gave extra security to our stay.

All good, and would stay again.

Just what we wanted for a single night on our way back to the UK - everything worked as it should, the room was clean, the shower was a real shower and not an excuse. What more could you want?

Room was clean and comfortable with a table and chairs, air conditioning and a large window. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful.

There was a good selection of foods for breakfast, but we think there should have been perhaps plain oats available , for those unable to tolerate, or trying to avoid sugar (e.g. diabetics).

We left an item in the hotel and called the evening after we left. The staff found the item and held it until out return. They were very helpful. Thank you

Nothing, all good. We use Mercure when travelling in France. They're a good chain. But this was an exceptional hotel. Fabulous!
