The location on the "island" is near the footbridge across the Saône River and in and among cobbled streets filled with fine restaurants and a robust night life. Great for travellers who like to walk. The buffet breakfast was excellent.

The elevator doesn't service the sleeping floors directly, so you have to go up or down a flight of stairs to get to your room. Particularly inconvenient for getting luggage to the room.

Ideal location - easy walking distance to the old town, Bellecour, Hotel de Ville etc and tons of great bars and restaurants ! The room and bathroom were both on the small side but had everything we needed including a kettle, and an iron and ironing board were available to borrow from reception. Staff were helpful and we did use the laundry service which was pricey but quick. Air con in the room was also good.

The staff here was very friendly and super helpful. The breakfast was good with a number of options to select from. The best part of my stay was just how clean the room was. I actually saw my reflection on the sink and shower faucets.

There are only 2 negatives - the first is the weird elevator situation. You select your floor but upon disembarkment you have to go up or down about 6 steps to get to your actually floor; and the second is the harsh lighting in the bedrooms. It was bright white but the bathroom had warm yellow.

Travelled with our granddaughter and thoroughly enjoyed four nights stay, staff were friendly, and accommodated our request to have our rooms together! Absolutely perfect location. Fabulous cafe practically on our doorstep that served great breakfasts, and scrumptious food in general. Would definitely recommend BWLSA and we would also choose to stay there again.

The location was excellent, close to many of the tourist sites and restaurants. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. It was also very clean and quiet with great AC.

No dislikes at all, but a suggestion for your older guests. It would be very helpful if there was a grab bar in the shower or a rubber bath mat. We both almost slipped in the tub because it was very slippery.

We had the family apartment, and it was a really substantial size - fantastic for a family of four. Enabled us to cook meals when we wanted, and to spread out as needed.

There weren't any tea towels to dry dishes, and there was no clothes rack to dry clothes (we didn't want to use the dryer, as it would shrink clothes).

We had the studio apartment which worked out very well. The kitchen was adequately supplied with dishes and was separate from bedroom but convenient for eating. The location of property was also convenient to sights.

Price, location, comfort

The one window opened into an air shaft, and into other similarly situated rooms. Those who are uncomfortable with the feel of enclosed space might want to avoid this room category.

It was clean. The staff was friendly. Very good location.
