The hotel had a beautiful, classic old-time style. The elevator and the stained glass windows added to the ambiance. The staff were very professional, helpful, and amenable. The breakfast buffet had an amazing choice of cakes and breads. The hot chocolate was wonderful.

As in many hotels, there was little space to organize our belongings. Although our room was large, storage space was limited.

Staff, location, bathroom and bed were all fantastic! The bathroom was one of the biggest I’ve had at a hotel in Europe. Location was close to most everything we wanted to see and do. Free hot chocolate in the lobby was a great touch during the holidays

I have stayed at different hotels in Europe and there's always a few things that bother me: 1) not having eletric kettle to boil water and to make tea 2) being higher rated than what they deserve So when I found that this hotel provide both coffee maker and electric kettle, I was really surprised! Especially the kettle was spotless clean without white buildup( I once experienced having kettle with layers of white limescale at a 4 star hotel in Luxemburg, pure disgusting...) Other than that, M Carlton Lyon hotel is very well located, within walking distance to the old town and central area, surrounded by lots of restaurants and cafes. The room that i was staying really match the photo- really spacious( even the bathroom was big!), clean and quite, makes me feel really comfortable and feel want to go back there for a longer stay.

Not really...the pomp of the shampoo wasn't working, not a big issue to me.

Great hotel in the centre of Lyon that is close to all the bars and restaurants you might need. The parking is valet parking and the team members who take the car are super helpful - Samuel, thanks. We had a view of the square, ate a great meal in a traditional Lyonnaise restaurant nearby and slept peacefully. The hotel is super clean, it has great decor and a fabulous, traditional lift.

If I am being picky the only thing i could find fault with is the fact that we were close to the hotels neon sign so perhaps a curtain on the batheroom window? For some reason we couldn't access the shutters.

All great hotels have great rooms and the Hotel Carlton gave us just that. But, it's the hotel staff that almost always makes THE difference. We were welcomely greeted and provided with information about getting a late night meal, which is not easy to come by in France on a Sunday night. In the bar, Guillaume made us two of the best Old Fashioneds we had ever tasted any where in the world (believe me, we've sampled a lot of them) and offered up some great conversation. The hotel is an easy walk from everything. And, our bonus: after a week traveling around France we finally had a shower that you could turn around in! Highly recommended.

We like the whole staff team at your hotel, we felt it's a hotel with humanity. The whole team included the staff at the front desk, breakfast room and the bar was professional. What we would like to highlight is the housekeeping: my fiancée lost a small notebook in the room, your housekeeping supervisor and her staff put their efforts in finding for us in a professional way. Overall, we felt that each of your staff knows their positions and roles to serve. They carefully listened to our needs without asking us to repeat or clarify, and they did their jobs well. About the view, the room view is excellent where we could see the basilica. Breakfast was good and we especially liked the fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread selection and warm omelettes.

It would be great if there is a fitness gym.

The hotel has a great location - even things to visit that are across the Rhine River to the east (such as Les Halles Paul Bocuse) or across the Saone River to the west (such as Vieux Lyon) are easily accessible by walking. And the area immediately near the hotel contains restaurants, cafes, and great shopping.

The breakfast at the hotel was rather pricey, especially in light of the number of places to have breakfast nearby.

Only problem I had is when I checked they took my credit card number for any additional expenses. But they take out 200€ which I had trouble getting back after I paid the bill. I phoned them up later but they still hadn’t transferred it. So I had to call back into the hotel and he did the transfer while I was there.

The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the centre of Presqu'ile, the heart of Lyon. It adjoins the main pedestrianised area of Lyon and is close to all the "Grand Magasins" and the traditional Bouchon-style restaurants of Lyon. We had a nice room on the second floor that was very quiet, even with the window opened at night. The relative lack of cars in this part of Lyon was the reason, I'm sure.

The lift was a bit antiquated and stopped a few steps short of the ground floor reception.

Hotel was in a nice location and we had a room with a view of the square. Room was quiet and the climate control worked well. The room, 318, was small, but it received a good amount of natural light during the day so it felt less cramped The shower worked well and the bathroom had its' own full length window. The train and buses were about a min walk away. The hotel is just a 2 min walk to the river with nice runing/walking paths and plenty of bridges to cross.

The hotel staff were aloof and barely even acknowledged our presence when we passed by the front desk or stopped by for some water.
