Hôtel Maison Montgrand - Vieux Port

The room was very clean. The bathroom was spacious. The beds were comfortable. I liked the complementary tea. The location was great, very close to city center, to shops and restaurants. Good enough sound proof.

- One of the night table lamps in our room was not working properly. We fixed it, but it would have been nice someone checking this beforehand. - Even though the shower was really nice and clean, with good water pressure, the lack of a proper door caused that the water spilled all over the floor. - The sink was too far from the toilet in my opinion. - If you don't close properly the doors leading to your room, you could hear everything going on outside. - The elevator is tiny.

Location, ample and delicious breakfast, beautiful breakfast courtyard too. The room we moved to was a good size with excellent facilities. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The initial room we were put in was much too small for three adults and one child, with many mosquitos under the roof and therefore right above the bunkbed. We asked to change and the staff kindly and efficiently offered us another much more spacious and more comfortable room.

When we first got there on the 11th the rooms that we got were terribly small and inconvenient. We had suit cases and there was no elevator to the 5th floor in this first building. The other room was like being in a dungeon. The rooms we received on the 19th were much better and we were in a building with an elevator to the 5th floor.

better communication with type of room and where it was located. When we first arrived, we didn't have an elevator to the 5th floor. I would have never booked these rooms if I knew.

We had a 6 person room. Bunk beds for the children and a large double for us. Our children are in their teens and found their beds a little uncomfortable and in very close proximity to the room door. There were not ample sockets for such a modern hotel. Milk was not provided with the rest of the tea and coffee facilities. The main hotel is simple but very pretty. Sadly we found the breakfast to be terrible.

The breakfast was very basic. The bread was stale and in all felt a fit like someone had done a quick dip around the supermarket 3 days before. It did not feel fresh. Luckily breakfast was included and im glad we didnt pay for it otherwise it would have felt like paid cafe prices for what was obviously straight out of carrefour.

Wonderful hotel in the best possible part of Marseille, near the old port. The rooms are spread out over several buildings of the street, ours was in Batiment 50. I loved how big and fluffy the towels were. The room is small and so is the shower-room but it’s well designed, organised and comfortable.

To improve: drawers, there’s a place to hang your clothes but very small space for underwear so if you’re coming for a longer stay it’s difficult to organise your clothes.

I appreciated that this hotel was not in the middle of everything but rather a very quick walk to it. This allowed for peace and quiet when sleeping at night and the ability to quickly see the sites. The room was refreshing with plenty of space including outdoor seating. The common area for breakfast was also lovely with options in the shade and sun.

Parking was the only hiccup to call out. The one-way road made it difficult to check in when you had a car. We had to quickly drop our luggage off and then try to find our way around to the 48-hour parking garage. Additionally, we were told that the parking ticket was multi-use (we could come and go as we please) but that was not the case, we ended up having to pay for our second exit. Based on our use I think it would have been cheaper for us to pay as we used the garage rather than the hotel rate.

The property is at a very good location ,very near to the port yet away from the hustle bustle of the port. All the places of interest are at a walking distance from the hotel. The room has mostly all the amenities. A place to stay if you like small cosy rooms. Do go to Culture Thai to have good thai food.

There are few things which we did not like: a. There was no refrigerator to cool your water and drinks b. There was basic minimum toiletries c. There was a stench from the toilet d. The hotel room is not in the reception building so be mindful that you have to haul your luggage around a little bit more than usual. e. The room is little small

Staff, breakfasts, outdoor dining area, location -- all wonderful. The main part of the hotel seems to be housed in an old mansion and features very high ceilings and ornate decor in addition to modern paintings. Nice place to relax at the end of a day of strolling around.

The room, while neatly designed, was really small. We couldn't figure out how to turn out the overhead light on one side of the bed only (my husband likes to read while I sleep!). The room was in one of the several properties the hotel owns and our building was contactless entry with a key card--which means nobody on duty when we came into the foyer.

Lovely garden where we enjoyed excellent breakfasts, comfy bed and super shower. Great bonus in France to have a kettle. Very helpful staff

Room a bit short of places to put things. A few more hooks for coats and towels would help. Annex building not as characterful as the main one with restaurant but it was comfy

Fantastic accommodation, don't hesitate! We only came for one night as we were passing through Marseille on our holiday. We had accommodation in the building opposite the reception on the 4th floor, we had a beautiful view of the street, the room was new, nice, very clean. It was a great sleep. But what I want to say, the staff at the reception was very helpful, they parked our motorbike right in front of the reception under the camera and we only had 5 minutes to the city and the port in the center. We thank you! The price was great!
