Excellent location and lovely gentleman at the lobby reception.

Breakfast quality and selection was poor and service staff not enough. Attention to detail on the room could be improved as some items not refilled daily.

We have been to La Citadelle several times now - on our way to, or from, Italy - and this was the first time we have been back since covid. It is a stunning building in a fabulous location - Metz is a lovely place with a very interesting history and is well worth wandering round. Car parking is perfect - they always look after us very well and the safety of our car is assured. The rooms are modern for the character of the building, however this mostly works. The facilities in the rooms are excellent. Beds are comfortable.

The restaurant remains very good, although the new lighting and decor we felt lacked atmosphere. Some of the tables in the restaurant are a little too close together to ensure privacy if required. Most of the recent upgrading of the rooms and building works well, however I did prefer the previous quirky hotel sign! I very much missed the wonderful shop that used to be in the foyer, selling interesting gifts and handmade foods/oils/spices and their speciality brandy. I do understand, however, that these things were frequently sacrificed during covid and were too costly or inconvenient to be reinstated.

First time staying at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and reception had us checked in quickly. The room was large and well furnished with a great view out onto a wooded area, while the bathroom had a tub with shower and good quality toiletries. The hotel is in a quiet location but a 2 minute walk takes you to the town square, river and green park. Breakfast was of good quality and there was a good selection. The hotel is located in a historical building that has been very carefully renovated and updated to meet the needs of 21st century travellers. Very pleased and will be staying here again.

This is an absolute gem of a hotel in a historic building right next to the armory. The hotel building was formerly a food store for the military. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was huge. The bathroom was adequate. I didn’t like the shower over the bath arrangement but it worked okay. There was a drying rack in the bathroom which was great for drying clothes. The room had a safe and a small refrigerator. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent.

Nothing. Close to perfect. Btw, I’m from Australia, not HongKong as recorded by Booking.com

We loved our stay here! We had a huge room on the third floor with large window looking out toward the historic chapel. They were very welcoming to our cat. We had requested a top sheet and blanket (instead of a duvet)which was on the bed when we arrived. They provided a capsule coffee machine and kettle. The air conditioning system though ecological, worked very well. Our meal at the restaurant was delicious; we liked that if one did not want the entire fixed menu, there were several options. The breakfast was outstanding as one would expect at a hotel with a fine restaurant. They have electric bikes available which we did not have time to try but I am sure would be lots of fun! All the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful.

The elevator broke on our last day but it was not a problem as they arranged to take our luggage down in a freight elevator.

The room, the staff and the location very good.

The breakfast was terrible! Too expensive for what it was - 22 euros. Cold bacon, cold sausage, scrambled eggs finished at 9am although still another hour of service. No bread to toast but there was a toaster. Only baguette which was impossible to slice with a knife. Honey empty jar. I have been in many hotels but none as bad as this one for cost versus food options. The hotel fantastic but the breakfast let it down badly.

The allocated room was very spacious and very comfortable. Quiet and efficient air conditioning. Location for the town was good. The hotel was close to access the autoroute - getting to it was very easy. The hotel was in a quiet, attractive location. Parking was on hotel land but open access. The restaurant was good as was breakfast. The hotel building was interesting. Could have stayed longer to visit the sites in the town.

Paying for a car park that was open to the street with no obvious security.

Good looking, modern hotel at the edge of the old Metz city center (city center is a bit impoverished unfortunately) with parking in front of it. Rooms are dark for a good nights' rest. Restaurant serves dilicious food, both for breakfast and diner. Art is incorporated everywhere very nicely.

Firstly, the beds are really warm, probably caused by the protection layer on the beds. Secondly, the hotel doesn't have enough parking spots in comparison with the amount of guests, so it is a bit of a competition.

Perfect location to explore Metz, just minutes walk to the centre with choice of eateries. Staff were polite and helpful.

Breakfast could have been better, a lot of the options were running low and it would have been nice to have a pot of coffee left on your table instead of keep asking for a top up. Car parking can be a bit hit and miss, be careful if you park against the curb opposite the hotel entrance, it’s closed as a cycle lane and you could, if unlucky pick up a parking ticket.
