A beautiful property and an excellent location! Michael the concierge when we checked in, upgraded our room at no charge, so that we had a corner room with a view of Place Stanislas! He was also very friendly and helpful giving us suggestions for a walk to see sites before our dinner reservation. Our room was spacious and also had a large bathroom with a double sink and drawers under the sink to store our things! We also had coffee maker in our room, which was lovely in the morning. Service was excellent, as was the elegance and cleanliness of the hotel. We were very, very happy and will book this hotel again!

I loved the interiors of Grand hotel de la Reine. It has a grandeur mixed with the history that adds to the overall charm of the place. The hotel is easily accessible from Nancy train station - about 15 minutes or less by foot. The classic double room was comfy. The breakfast salon overlooks Place Stanislas - a splendid morning view! The exquisite breakfast spread featured local delicacies as well. That was indeed a treat! I found the hotel to be worth the price paid and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable accommodation experience in the city.

A mini fridge in the room would have been nice.

Everything! Staff were very efficient and welcoming. The room was very comfortable, the bed was wonderful and big. Bathroom was bright & airy & overall the room was impeccably clean. Nice touch having tea and coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was amazing. Top quality and a wide choice. Central location. Superb restaurants nearby. We were very very impressed. Cannot fault it.

Parking can be an issue however we managed to find a space within walking distance. Parking meters are in force between 10am and 6pm. It’s wise to have plenty of coins with you. Bath shower could do with replacing with a walk in one

We were upgraded to a Royal room with a view of the square, which was truly special. The hotel has tons of old world charm, including squeaky and uneven floors, but it's a very fun place to stay. The breakfast is excellent, and the salon it's held in is gorgeous. Inexpensive daily parking is about a block away in a secure garage. The staff were kind and unfussy. I would love to go back!

This might be a French thing, but there were no washcloths available, so I will bring my own next time. :-) Additionally, the elevator is small and old, but that's to be expected in a 300+ year old hotel.

Location to die for. Breakfast room and view of square.7, though not a lot of point in wonderful range of cut breads without a working toaster

Whole hotel very tired. Faded grandeur....but overdone and overpriced. Amazing double sink in bathroom badly cracked. Noisy room on side of hotel....above the road, despite having nowhere to even bag drop on arrival. Public car park is close but the vibe is poor. Hotel restaurant, not seemingly attached to the hotel and quite rude. But despite all this the location trumps everything, would stay again but take the cheapest room given that the upgrade paid for was so disappointing (except that it was the closest room to breakfast)

We had stayed here nine years ago and it is definitely our favourite hotel in Europe - until we find one we prefer! We were disappointed that our room was in no way as comfortable or spacious but the staff quickly found us a much better room with the view of the beautiful square. The breakfast room is stunning and we enjoyed the breakfasts although it was better nine years ago when we had the most delicious bircher muesli made to a secret recipe by the chef. The postition couldn't be better as it was easy to explore the city centre on foot.

Some redecorating is needed. Bring back that amazing bircher muesli!

Marie Anthoinette stayed here on her way to meet Louis XVI in 1770.Her father is Francis I who was born in Lorraine. Lorraine is the place where her ancestors come from. My room facing the inner courtyard was refurbished and had everything we needed i.e. tea making facility, hair dryer, bathtub and was quiet at night even during the St. Nicolas week-end. Having breakfast at the dinning room on the 1st floor overlooking the stunningly beautiful Stanislas square will be an unforgettable experience in Nancy. We definitely come back.

- The room was beautiful and really large (we stayed in a superior room) - The location of the hotel is amazing; right in the center of the city, where you can tons of restaurants, bars and shops by foot - Really friendly staff - Great bar downstairs for a drink, something small to eat, or breakfast, while you can sit on the square and enjoy the beautiful sights of the buildings around the square

- Relatively pricy to bring a dog along (EUR 25 per night)

Amazing breakfast with a lot of options, and an unbeatable view of the Place Stanislas. The staff were friendly and helpful, and provided us with an upgrade for my mother’s birthday to make our stay extra special. They really seemed to go the extra mile. They were also kind enough to securely accommodate our 2 bicycles in their storage room. Although they did not have parking, a parkhaus was within a few hundred meters of the hotel with very reasonable overnight rates. The beds were comfortable, and very large, with enough pillows of varying degrees of fluffiness so you could choose. The hotel could not have been better located - it’s right in the heart of exactly where you want to be to see all the tourist attractions. Also the pricing was good value for money - you truly will not find anywhere else in any main city in France the level of luxury and the location you get for the price.

Breakfast was a bit pricey for the amount of food I eat, but honestly it’s the same all over France. I’m scraping the barrel here to find ONE negative to mention.

Michael the evening clerk was exceptionally welcoming and knowledgeable of the historic centre of the city, with suggestions for our visit drawn onto a local map.. He suggested restaurants and to watch the son et lumière in the square. The breakfast was exceptional, served in a grand Regency style hall, with a stunning view across the main square. The selection and quality of food was incredible, fresh seasonal fruit, local yoghurt, meats and cheeses, viennoiserie, cakes, seasonal jam, fresh fruit juice, and lots more. The bed was so comfortable, I slept exceptionally well.
