Very centre of town and hardly noticeable from the road as hidden away behind gates from the street. Very quiet and private property. We were given the top floor room which is 40 steps up a spiral staircase. Views were lovely, room was enormous, bathroom the same, very large bed. Washing machine, iron and ironing board which we found very useful. A lot of character. Lovely breakfast served in the dining room on the ground floor. Very central to restaurants but make sure you book ahead as we could not get a table reservation at the one the host’s recommended, nor the second and only just got in at the last.

Fantastic stay for 3 nights at Le Castel Ecossais. Great location very central in Senlis. Lovely large room with separate dressing area / sofa and big bathroom. Stand alone toilet in the bedroom area. Our Hosts were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay including parking the car for us down the very narrow path. Lovely patio with views to sit out on and wonderful breakfast each day

We are a family of 2 couples and took 2 double rooms. Senlis is a gorgeous town, full of history but with modern facilities - a joy to visit. Le Castel Ecossais is very central, within a few minutes walk of the restaurants and shops. There is parking on site and we received a very warm welcome on arrival. Both of our rooms were spacious and clean with plenty of hot water and comfortable beds.

The location is very good within Senlis, close to shops, bars and restaurants. It’s very quiet, even if within the city center. The view from the room and balcony is very nice. My room was very big and spacious. The owners are very kind. Breakfast is simple and every day the same but ok and of good quality.

Where the house is obviously antique, the facilities haven’t been upgraded much. It was quite cold in the room - even with the heater on - and the bathroom is outdated (old sink + you need to take a high step to get jnto the bath for showering, which a danger for slipping when coming out). Some small details (eg different types of towels and showering products) make you feel more in an airbnb then in a hotel. Which is fine, it’s just all about expectations. In the end I feel you mostly pay for the antique house and furniture, and less for comfort and facilities.

Le Castel Ecossais was a wonderful b&b to spend the last night of my trip. Only a 30 minute drive to CDG airport. An elegant and historic building in the old town, it was perfect in every way. The hosts were charming and helpful, and shared with me more of the building’s history. I loved my room with its four poster bed and dressing room that helped with packing. It was quiet and comfortable, with a lovely garden view, an excellent breakfast and parking in the courtyard.

It was a treat to find ourselves in such a unique and historic building right in the heart of beautiful Senlis. We had only booked for one night which we instantly regretted and would happily return to explore further and enjoy the hospitality at Le Castel Ecossais. The breakfast was plentiful and served in a lovely room overlooking the garden.

Central location, just off the main Place Henri 1V in a C19th building built on an original C13th building. Huge bedroom and bathroom, very quiet. We slept wonderfully. Modern fixtures included a walk in shower. Breakfast was very good. The owners were friendly and helpful e.g. choice of local restaurants. Parking was provided but, since we had arrived early and were in a free carpark nearby, we did not use it.

The location, right in the centre of Senlis was perfect. Our room was superb, with wonderful views over the beautifully kept garden. We hadn't realised that there is an infinity pool, so next time we'll pack swimming costumes. Our hosts were extremely hospitable, and couldn't do enough for us to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely be going back!

The only problem we had was finding the place!

Excellent central but very peaceful location. Large comfortable rooms. The hosts were extremely helpful, including insisting on parking our car for us because the turning into the private driveway was unusually intimidating. Good fresh breakfast.

Bathroom facilities were a little tired.

Locarion, architecture, style, people. We felt like their guests. The house is magnificent, the garden beautiful, the patio retracting swimming pool is like a film set.

Being at the top of a tower would have been a challenge no matter how beautiful the room, but we were helped with our luggage so it was fine.
