We stayed here simply because it was the nearest hotel when our car broke down! Staff were very friendly and adaptable to our needs (e.g. storing oat milk in their fridge for our little one who is dairy intolerant and also being able to make dairy free meal options available including a pizza with no cheese - I'm not a fan, but needs must!) There is also an all you can eat buffet restaurant nearby and a soft play, which was a life saver given our situation of being stuck on the outskirts of Dortmund without a car! The receptionsist was very helpful, acting as a translator to German when we needed to speak to the car mechanics that were fixing our car.

Beds were not amazingly comfortable but we are very hard to please on that front! Other than one restaurant and a softplay, there wasn't much else for us nearby but we didn't expect more than that in this location really.

The location was great. Close to the motorway, yet quiet at night. Surrounded by fields, perfect for a walk in the evening. I felt like on some holiday in a village and not on a motorway stop.

We had to pay extra for the parking. Free parking was only outside on the street and we obviously wanted to park on the hotel parking. It was only £5-6 and we would of still chose this accommodation anyway. Even if the price of parking was added automatically it was still the cheapest and nicest hotel around :)

Despite there weren't that may guests the hotel bar was opened in the evening hours (more precise: the two of us and another one who seemed to be a regular were the only ones). So we could have a glass of well cooled white wine before going to sleep, served by a very friendly bar keeper (who surely hadn't received many tips that evening).

I can't say we didn't like it, but it appeared to us that there aren't that many locations to go AFTER the shops in the vicinity (Aldi, Ikea, etc.) closed their doors … unless you are willing to go by car. (Maybe we just looked in the wrong direction, but the surroundings looked a little bit like – say – rather an "industrial zone" without much of a "night life". (Though don't depend on our words, check yourself on a map, especially if you are looking for a place with a choice of several restaurants and bars etc. around to go in the evening.)

The hotel was close to the highway as we were on the move which was very convenient. It was affordable and the breakfast selection was great to accommodate the kids. It's also very close to restaurants where one can have dinner outside of the hotel. The staff were helpful and gave us everything we needed at check-in

The bathtub could have been cleaner. And the double beds could have been bigger or an extra blanket available in the room.

I felt everything good. I stayed for my work and I had to attend the late night shifts but unfortunately, the house keeping staff wake me up in the morning even though I put the do not disturb board. Which could have avoided.

The room was clean and spacious with ample seating area as well as space for luggage. The location is okay if you are just stopping by or coming to Dortmund by car or have something to do in the area. Otherwise it's really far from everything and not really suitable for a city visit. We also liked how generous the cancelation policy and that we could cancel the booking literally until the last moment.

I can't really justify the paid parking considering it's not secured and it's literally in the middle of some fields. It just seems to be a way to get more money out of guests which is stupid considering there is plenty of free parking on the street.

The hotel was clean as well as the room. Check in was quite simple and straightforward, except for the many Covid related forms to fill out, but that must be done.

Even though we were two people, there was only one duvet and one hand towel and one bath towel! There wasn't a floor matt/towel in the bathroom either.

Very clean , friendly staff. Very good breakfast, plenty of parking

Just a shame the outside looks rather neglected and in side corridors and stairs need attention

Slightly higher standard than your average Ibis hotel

No proper shower. Had to climb into a bath to use the shower attachment mounted on the wall. Could be a problem for someone with mobility issues
