I got a triple room only for myself and it was quite comfortable. Big window looking out at the hotel front with lots of lights coming in. The room was clean and simple. The kitchen is nicely decorated and well-equipped. Free coffee and tea are provided there. Plenty of spaces to sit and hang around. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's about a 10 min walk to the old town and there is a bus running from the main train station directly to the hostel.

As it's a hostel, the fridge and kettle are in the common kitchen. You have to make your way upstairs for it. Wifi is not working properly and very hard to get connected. There is no handheld showerhead and you need to push a button to have the water running and it's spreading everywhere from above.

Loved the decor of the hostel, the opera theme was unique and very appropriate given the name of the hostel and its proximity to the old Erfurt opera house. The opera theme gave the hostel a cozy and luxurious atmosphere, and the musical decorations added a really nice touch. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful, and that made checking in and checking out a very pleasant experience. The breakfasts, while you had to pay for them, were also very nice and well worth the fee. They were a great way to start your mornings while visiting Erfurt. Overall, this is by far one of the best hostels I've been to, I'd highly recommend it!

My complaints are minor, and in no way reflect the hostel staff and their services. I will admit that it was difficult to find the electrical outlets in my room, and the few that I could find were often taken, which made charging my devices a bit difficult. The hostel wi-fi, while decent at certain times throughout the day, was a bit unreliable in the evening (probably due to all the guests logging on at the same time and slowing down the bandwidth). Lastly, some of the guests that shared my room were a bit noisy (snoring at night, etc.). However, this is to be expected with hostels, so it's not really worth complaining about. Given the price, location and services of this hostel, I would rank it very high among the hostels I've stayed at over the years, and it is definitely worth a visit!

I have been to many hostels throughout the years but none of them compare to Opera Hostel. It was absolutely clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, equipped with everything one can need, and staff was exceptionally kind, speaking very good English but also willing to let me practice my German :) An amazing experience altogether. I would definitely return here. Thank you, Opera Hostel! <3

There isn't anything that I didn't like. Maybe a single thing I found strange (although it didn't bother me that much): there is music playing in the bathroom/toilet area during the day :)

The hostel is beautiful decorated all over and taken care good of, very clean and nice stay. With Towels etc. Wifi available and the location is good close enough to the train station and city center. I didn't try the breakfast but it looked nice. The showers & toilets are enough and I loved the music playing, there was even a hairdryer if needed.

We had little problem with the key cards not working all the time and left us on the street, but the staff was nicely helping out. Unfortunately the showerhead is not movable so when you turn on you have to already stand in cold water without any choice before it gets warm, not sure if there are any other option, I imagine it cold in the winter ;)

Very helpful staff, great location, very comfortable. Sink in private bedroom was a great feature. The coffee in the free coffee machine (even free latte, cappuccino etc) was great, fresh beans!

It was a bit sandy on my floor (I didn‘t report it as I wasn‘t really going to spend any time in the room), but everything else was impeccably clean, so it must have been a mistake, or maybe it came in through the window!

I loved that it's a place with a beautiful ambience, very well thought, super convenient location wise. It is one of the cleanest and most organised hostels/hotels I have ever been too.

A small item is a shower that is in a pulsating mode. It may be quite annoying for some. Otherwise facilities were absolutely great.

A normal hostel with an average price for the service, but furnished and decorated in such a beautiful way that I had the impression I was walking in a museum. Highly recommended for people that believe that "beauty will save the world"!

Wi-fi didn't work properly, especially in some areas.

I liked everything about the hostel. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, everything looks really cool (and fits the opera/theater theme) - you only walk about 15 minutes to Erfurt central station or Anger, and there is a bus stop almost right in front of the building. I booked a double room, and it had a very nice interior - the extra sink in the room was really useful. The shared bathroom was really clean - as was everything else. I really look forward to staying here again.

The hostel was very clean and the common areas were very cosy. There was complimentary coffee and tea in the kitchen, which is always a nice touch.

The coffee machine is turned on at 7 am in the morning, but there was probably 5 of us already awake and ready to start the day at 6-6.30 am. Not being able to make coffee in the morning when you need it.moat makes it quite redundant 😅

Location is good, it has a bus/tram stand just across it (anout 2 minutes walk).

In the morning, sunlight enters through the uncovered parts of the window, making it too bright. To prevent this, you can extend the length of the curtains to ensure they cover the entire window.
