We love staying at Freigeist Göttingen because they go above and beyond for their customers. We have stayed here multiple times and it has been great. On this stay however, they pulled out all the stops for our fur babies. We booked in advance and let them know we were bringing two dogs with us again. (Yes, you do pay extra for the dogs.) When we entered our room, we saw two comfy, huge dog beds, two food bowls, two water bowls, and lots of prepackaged treats for them. It meant so much to us! Plus we were on the first floor which helped us so much as one of our dogs is blind and it’s easier to navigate with him. On top of all that, the welcome glass of wine is divine and so welcome after traveling for so long. We highly recommend the clean, comfortable rooms, the fabulous food, welcoming staff, and the location is next to the train station. Perfect!

My room was in the corner, exposed to both the ring road and a spur road. Although Göttingen is a lovely, quiet town, unfortunately there was car racing and loud aggressive driving outside (between 03:00 and 05:00) every night, so I was frequently woken up. Not the fault of the hotel, but those who need a good sleep should request an inner room.

The hotel is within easy walking distance to the town centre. Our room was very modern, spacious and clean with a super bathroom and a comfortable bed.

Breakfast was not included and at €25 pp hugely expensive, similar to our evening meal in Göttingen’s town centre. Great food choices but €50 for 2? Parking was easy in their very own private underground car park at €19 per day. So breakfast and parking about half of the costs of the room.

Good choice on a good location. The train station is next door but I luckily did not hear it. You can park under the hotel plus they have also charges for an electrical car. 5 min walk to the city center. Friendly staff, nice spacy room. Everything else you wish for is available; bar, restaurant, sauna, gym etc. I would recomment it.

They are not the cheapest, the price is fairly but high. But at this price level I expect breakfast included. Unfortunately it is 25 euro's extra per person that is way to expensive.

Nice and new "design" style hotel. Lobby, bar, restaurant and roof top bar look fabulous. Rooms look nice as well. Comfy beds, quite space. The bar service is excellent, but not cheap. The front-desk service is nice and friendly. The breakfast is convenient, but service during rush hours and value for money is not as adequate.

Nice design, however, not everything is fully functional (the check-in while sitting at the front desk is a wired experiences, PC screens block the view, no space to hand-over paper). The wellness area with sauna was "designed" by a non-user (no hocks next to sauna door for towels, bright light and full-size windows towards the street where people have to cross between showers and sauna). The fitness / gym room was also equipped by a non-user: it has only 2 running belts, 2 cross trainers and a rowing machine, but nothing like rope pulls, no weights, no dumbbells at all. Overall, room rates and breakfast extra is above an average money for value ratio.

Very nice hotel within easy walking distance to center of town. Good breakfast to start the day - they will prepare omelets or other special orders if desired. Although located on a main highway, soundproof windows kept things inside the room quiet for a good night's sleep. The staff was very friendly and helpful. On site parking garage was very convenient, though there is a charge for using it. WiFi was strong - in summary, a very nice stay.

Because of potential heat waves even in this part of Europe, air conditioning was an attractive feature. However, it seems the AC was centrally controlled. During one warm day we tried to switch it on and it was not working. This was not a big inconvenience, as the temperatures were comfortable for most of our stay. Also there was no desk for those who must do some work in the room - I set my laptop on a small table and it worked out OK.

The room was very big and very nicely designed. It seemed to have a minimalistic approach but everything that I needed was in place. The bathroom was very spacious and clean. The hygiene products (soap, shower gel) were of very good quality. The room was very quiet. The city centre is within walking distance (10min), the train station is 100m away. If I ever come back to Göttingen, I would book the room in this hotel again.

I have found the price of breakfast too expensive. The positive aspect is that one can get a coffee "to go" for free. Having food in the room is not really an option. I had to wait relatively long for the check-out, and there seemed to be some confusion about several bookings.

Hotel is modernly designed, staff was friendly (they helped us to find a restaurant, even called for us). Rooms were modern, clean. Beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was very delicious; there open buffet + you can order eggs, waffles etc. freshly cooked upon your demand. We also loved the cocktail bar downstairs; they have a wide range of creatively mixed cocktails.

When I checked-in online, it says you can check in after 11am which is misleading. When we arrived they said the rooms are only guaranteed after 3pm.

Freigeist is located within walking distance of the train station and close to the city center. Being able to walk into town is very convenient. Very good breakfast buffet and the hotel restaurant is excellent. A bit pricy but certainly worth it. One of the big pluses is that the rooms are air-conditions. That is usually not easy to find in Goettingen, but certainly necessary during the summer months. I have stayed at Freigeist many times over the last 1.5 years and have always been happy with the service and the staff. I can highly recommend it. I have tried other hotels in Goettingen (visited 10 times since August 2020 for 2-3 weeks each time), for various reasons, like quarantine requirements or trying something different, and my opinion is that Freigeist is the best in regards to service and location.

They are a boutique hotel. So some things are cute but they are not functional. Salt and pepper in the restaurant look lie two stones, nut it is difficult to find out which one is the salt. No desk in the room, just a coffee table. But you get used to that. The one thing that I still find strange is that there is no phone in the room. So if I have a medical emergency, I need to unlock my iphone ?

Very nice hotel in a good central location close to the CBD in Göttingen. Restaurants, Cafes all close by and close to the main station. Parking is available for free. Friendly staff and the hotel rooms are really nice and have a great design.

The beds were very soft and breakfast was rather expensive with 25EUR/person. Furthermore the charge for 15EUR/dog/night is quiet expensive as well.
