The staff at reception were always nice and helpful. One of them made a drawing on the map where I should go; I did and it was superb. I liked the location, which was parallel to Reeperbahn. One could walk to the harbour as well as to Jungfernstieg and see and experience many interesting buildings on the way. I preferred to have breakfast round the corner on Reeperbahn, or at the ‘Kietz Bäcker’ in Silbersackstraße, for which you have to cross Reeperbahn, turn right, walk a stretch, then turn left. Often there is a cue. If you like to have breakfast before going out, the Hotel breakfast is sufficient, although not great. If you are in to really good food then there is Fischereihafen Restaurant. A nice way to get there is by ferry, get off Dockland and just walk strait on. It is the big building on your left.

I was missing a comfortable chair in the room and a shelf in the bathroom for placing my cosmetics. Generally there was little facility to place the content of my suitcase.

The personnel were very friendly. Someone from reception even spoke to me in Bulgarian (my mother's language), which made me feel very pleased. Although Booking stated that check-in would be after 14:00, I arrived around 10 and my room was ready by 11, which was a pleasant surprise. LOCKERS AVAILABLE - I put my luggage in a locker while my room was getting ready which gave me flexibility to move. My room was clean and had a view of the backyard. The hotel is very close to the U3 subway line, just a 3-minute walk (yellow line), and it's near the Hamburg harbor walking distance. You can have a longer walk to the center or take the subway. Overall, it's a good place to stay for 2 nights. I was there during the week, but if I had been there over the weekend, I probably would have chosen a different district. ;)

If you're considering a district, be aware that on weekends it resembles a mini Las Vegas. Generally, I didn't venture into that district during daytime. The window couldn't remain fully open by itself due to its size and weight. Additionally, there were minor details, such as small stains on the shower cabin floor, but I always wear flip flops.

Good value close to the main attractions of Hamburg. Very helpful manager when I had problems with the carpark next door.

I was travelling by motorbike and tried to get into the carpark that is run by a separate company. To get the barrier to open you have to be exactly in the centre of the barrier. I didn’t know this and the barrier wouldn’t open. I pressed the help button and the person who answered said it was not possible for motorbikes to enter and wished me a good day. Luckily one of the other guests saw my predicament and explained what to do and the barrier duly opened. When I queried out with the manager he confirmed that the people running the car park are f’ing arholes. I concur.

The hotel is at a lovely location. Very close to the station. Wonderful transport connections. Room is great and bed was very comfortable. I am extremely happy with my stay.

Upon arrival the guy at reception was very rude. Made me pay, had a conversation over the phone and then asked me what I wanted... I was really disappointed. He didn't even remember I had just paid. He questioned the fact and even was surprised when I pointed out he was holding my receipt in his hand. Then very reluctantly gave me my room key. I felt like some kind of criminal. He was horrible with the service.

We got exactly what we were looking for - an affordable room in Hamburg. We stayed in the triple room and it was a bit too cosy... This required an extra effort on our part to keep our things tidy, otherwise we'd be splitting our heads open by tripping on everything because the space was small. The room had the toilet, shower and washing basin all separate, which helped when we were getting ready in the morning. The common areas and room were generally clean, the room quiet and warm (it was zero degrees outside and we didn't even have to turn on the heat!), the morning breakfast buffet quite varied. Remember that the city centre is about a 30-40 minute walk away.

The staff provided basic help and answered direct questions, but made little effort towards a particularly welcome stay. We had the cleaning crew in our room once and they didn't make one of the beds. Some dirt under the beds. Also, one of the mattresses was a bit sunken in, so my friend would wake up with a neck and back ache.

location was great. St. Pouli station is just 2 minutes walking distance. from there you can reach to everywhere. Rathous is only 4 stop.

I think it is bad that there is no kettle and fridge in the rooms, but Ibis hotels don’t have it at this level anyway. ı think the worst thing in the room is the bed. I have never seen such an umcomfortable bed in my life. Stayed 3 nights but I could never sleep. my travel is over but my whole body aches never went away. They definetely need to improve the bed quality

Location, staff, cleanliness and price.

Pillows were just a piece of cloth with almost no filling. Aircondition was quite noisy and didn't cool much at the highest setting (it was 30c outside) and the shower head was a bit annoying because it couldn't be adjusted/tilted. It would also have been nice with some storage for your clothes, but there were only two hangers and no cabinets or shelves.

I like the fact it is very central, lots of things to see and experience, and restaurants as well.

Staff could be a little bit happy and smiley so that I could feel a little bit more welcome to be there. You can't feel comfortable where people just look at you serious. And have not idea why, the wifi just blocks some (legal)websites I work with. So you got to have a vpn, or use you mobile internet.

Very friendly reception staff, allowed me to check in an hour or so early. Great location, on the edge of the reeperbahn so its still pretty quiet at night. Station across the road and hamburg centre within a reasonable walk anyway. Room was clean, spacious and modern, very pleasantly surprised. Felt more like a modern trendy hotel. Great shower with loads of hot water and pressure. My room had a double bed with a single bunk over the top so perfect if you've got a little one.

Rooms are pricey really as with everything in Hamburg but good value nonetheless.

Location is great for S3 S-Bahn (yellow line). All attractions are mostly covered on this line. Nearest S Bahn is St Pauli. 100m away. Best to book non-street side so you can open the window for fresh air without street noise. Car parking is excellent. Normal daily rate from Apco car parking 35 euros per day ! Ibis Budget hotel gave us a discount card before paying for 4 days in one go costing only 25 euros !

Ibis Budget is budget compared to "normal" hotel standards. Very small rooms for 3 people being 2 adults with Bunk bed for 1 child. Shower cabin full plastic. Looking slowly yellow with time.... Of course no tea or coffee making facilities in room. Hair dryer has to be obtained from reception. Apart from these small diffences Hamburg is the main reason and saving money on a hotel helps in an expensive city.
