Clean environment (rooms/floors etc.). , breakfast. And reception, with even a Dutchman to help me out

When booking, It would be helpful to read something about public transport to the hotel from Königswinter Hbf. (bus nr 521, abt. 15 minutes). In my case that would have avoided my travelling by S-Bahn from Bonn Hbf. which took an awful 25 minutes with numerous stops, ending downtown Königswinter near the river Rhine. And from there as yet bus 521 into the hills, with a stop in front of Königswinter Hbf. There I realized what an enormous unnecessary detour I had made, i/o simply catching the train from Bonn Hbf. But I was told to go by S-Bahn by someone.

We stayed at budget hotels before when travelling on long journeys. Nothing can compare even close to this one. Rooms were super! Big, clean, modern. Toilet was very nice too. Shower great. And then the mattress!!! Mmmmmm comfy! We are def marking this one on the map for next time! Price was no more than the other cheap and crappy ones, so well worth your money!

Had issues with auto-check-in at the door. Didn't recognise my reservation. The night guard sorted access out though, which was good. He didn't have all the info immediately, which at midnight can be a bit stressful, but I'm nitpicking. Also in the morning I had to go twice to the reception in order to pay as they weren't open. A bit inconvenient if you need to get away early and quick.

1. Checkin was an automated process 2. Room was clean and layout was better than other ibis budget hotels that we have stayed in 3. Parking was free and we got a spot 4. The lady at the reception in the morning who okayed our checkout was nice :)

The guy (sorry, cant call him a gentleman) at the reception during the evening when we checked in. We had a minor question about the parking and he refused to talk to us in anything other than German. His inability to speak in English wasnt a problem but his attitude definitely was. Not a smile, not an apology (we did apologise that we dont speak German), no intention to help people out... Such people shouldn't be working in the hospitality business, in my opinion.

Very clean room, very nice staff. Good location close to both tourist locations and the A3 freeway. Centrally located close to Bonn and Köln. Safe location with good parking. For the midnight snacker a McD is right next door. Simple but good breakfast. Nice play corner for children.

Not all credit cards are accepted depending on the issuing bank. Despite having a German MasterCard, I could not pay with this. This is not known in advance. IBIS blames Booking, although I have been able to pay other hotels via Booking with this card. Inconvenient.

The hotel located close to the main road so easy access. There are plenty of parking spaces around so no problem arriving late, there will be space available.

Endless morning knocks.... In the morning the cleaning staff asked when we would be leaving and even though we had the "don't disturb" sign they kept coming back and checking (knocking on the door) if the room is empty. It is especially bad if you arrive very late or early in the following morning and want to sleep a few hours but you get woken up every hour after 8am! This did not use to like this.....

At 11.30pm when we could no longer handle anymore night driving, I came across this Ibis budget on booking.com and it was exactly what we needed: just off the highway, clean, practical and quiet. Easy parking as well.

There was a power outage in the middle of the night (which is completely normal as there was a storm) but the WiFi did not work again, despite us enquiring in the morning. Usually a router re-sets quite quickly. It's not that we're addicted to WiFi but we needed to access Google Maps to continue our journey. The pillows were extraordinarily flat!

Surprisingly comfortable beds. Location - very close to the motorway

No night service apart from night cleaner, but we got checked in eventually...I've been told by this person upon our arrival that someone already claimed to be us and have already checked in, which I found very odd.... There were no rooms available for a family of four, so we ended up paying for two rooms , which was too pricey...

We got a room on the third floor which was very nice and spacious. The standard room what we expected. This time the room was clean and warm, facilities worked as expected. Did not try breakfast but seemed they have a huge selection to choose from.

The self check-in did not (first time in many visits so could be temporary). The parking spaces are limited at the front; but in the back there are plenty.

The room was excellent and modern, and very clean. The staff were very friendly. The wifi was also good and reliable. The room was very quiet, which is great, and exactly what I would have wanted. The view from the room was also decent. The room had some cool lighting!

I think that the variety of food offered for breakfast was rather limited. I think that the breakfast would have been better if more food variety was offered. Also, it would be preferable if a liquid hand wash dispenser was offered in the room next to the sink, instead of a solid bar of soap.

It had everything we needed for a one night say and if we had stayed longer it would have been perfect too. The village nearby appears to be safe and quiet. I love that the hotel allows dogs.

The village is close by but there is only one restaurant there and it was good (not great but good)! I know that's not the hotel's fault but I'm searching for faults and can't find any!!!
