Landhotel und Gasthof Kirchberger

We wanted to stay in Wildsteig as part of our hiking of King Ludwig's Way. This guesthouse is directly on the path, so that was perfect and we could check in early. The only down part for us was that the restaurant was not open (nor were any others in town) so we needed to drive to Steingaden for dinner. It was not a problem for as as we had a car with us, but our initial plans were just to hike in, and then we would have been stuck as the closest towns are 5-10k away. So if you are hiking in and will be there on a Monday or Tuesday - double check first. Other than that it was great and we were able to have a beer from the fridge when we finished our walk. Breakfast was good.

Lovely family run hotel with good room and fantastic food and atmosphere in pretty garden setting.

Unfortunately it was not a peaceful nights sleep as the close proximity to the church meant a disturbed night as the church bells ring every 1/4 hour all night and day. The church bells spoilt what should have been a very quiet night as the rest of the village was quiet.

No staff when we arrived - key was left out for us. Restaurant was closed the evening we were there so had to travel to nearby town for food

The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was very quiet and comfortable, and breakfast was a pleasant and relaxing experience.

The shower nozzle appeared to be broken and was leaking from the hole joint. The water pressure was weak and not comfortable.

We enjoyed a great German breakfast which was included in the room price. Breakfast was served at a good time in the morning to get an early start for sightseeing. Our rooms were very large and comfortable and included a sauna.

There was nothing we did not like.

Bathroom could use an upgrade: over 20 yrs old I think. Showerholder was taped to keep it in place! Water was just about warm enough.

The room was modern and comfortable. The location was lovely, in a small village in the countryside. Our dinner in the hotel restaurant was exceptional, and breakfast was also delicious. Our stay here was a highlight of our trip.

The clean simplicity of the décor, the lovely garden in the back of the hotel, and above all, the exquisite quality of the dinner -- truly superb!

Excellent breakfast and lovely staff I had a puncture of my bike. The owner of the hotel offered me to bring my bike to the nearest bike shop

Good food.

Our bed room was on top of some music bar that played music auditable approx 20:00-02:00 every day, except Monday/Tuesday. Not so great when having small children needing to sleep with such music.
