It was very unique - full of history. The restoration was spectacular - and right in the middle of the Old Town. Close to everything! Katerina and her husband running the hotel were magnificent. So friendly, kind and helpful. They couldn’t do enough for us. I’ve never experienced this level of hospitality before. Right from greeting and welcoming us, to the beautiful room, delicious breakfasts and finally waving us off on our departure. An incredible property and our stay I will never forget. I HIGHLY recommend this property.

Everything. The location is very central but also just magical, the conversion of the original building is so well done and it has to be seen to be believed. Lovingly restored, beautiful room, comfy bed, incredible people who went above and beyond in every aspect. Super clean, they also installed a water filter so you could drink the water from the taps, amazing shower but the highlight was always the breakfast. Every morning was something new and everything was so fresh, local produce and tasted unbelievable. Our trip was already good but staying here made it perfect. I can't recommend this place highly enough for the location and amenities but the owners make it, they are the most incredibly thoughtful and generous people I have ever had the honour of meeting. We will absolutely be back!

Portolithos Boutique Hotel is a very special place - a well-preserved ancient treasure, meticulously cared for by Katerina and her husband. Their warm and welcoming hospitality is beyond comparison! They arranged taxi for us from and to the airport. They showed us the sites to visit, places to eat, and when to avoid the crowds. They made us feel like we’re guests to their home, and not just hotel guests. The breakfast was the best part! Beautifully served every morning. Beyond our expectations! Katerina & Zafeiris showed incredible hospitality during our stay in Rhodes. There warm welcome from the first night we arrived to our departure made our vacation truly unforgettable! They are such genuinely kind people. The hotel was beautiful and so unique. It has so much charm and character. Every detail in each room was beautiful. The work they have put in over the years to make the dream of Porolithos a reality is truly amazing. The breakfast spread that was made each morning was delicious and made with love. The location was fabulous and everything in Old Town & New town was walkable.

We loved everything about the hotel.

We visited Rhodes three times recently while touring the Dodecanese islands. On each occasion we stayed at three Porolithos because it is beautifully located in the Old Town and because Katerina and her family welcome you into their family as dear friends. The rooms are each unique and tastefully decorated. Breakfast is an event with pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt and honey, toast and delicious eggs. Katerina has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Old Town and a capacity to suggest just the right restaurant for your mood and taste. We would not consider staying anywhere else in Old Rhodes than Porolithos Boutique Hotel.

Having to leave.

The property is so special. You will live in a recently totally renovated/restored 500 years old porolithos stone house. The whole house has 4-5 units for rent sharing terraces, yard and a living room. Our unit had a spacious living room for our own and a bedroom with a bathroom. The service was definitely beyound our expectation! The host family welcomed the guests with some snacks. The surrounding map and popular spots were introduced. The host not only helped us to arrange a rental car for a day and schedule the departure taxi, she communicated with us while we were out to make sure everything is OK. The breakfast was fabulous and included in the stay. It’s not a buffet style, instead we were served like in the restaurant. On the last day, since we had to leave at 4am, a bag of sandwich and drinks was left in our fridge the night before. You can’t ask for more.

11/10 Gorgeous boutique hotel situated in the medieval part of Rhodes. Walking distance to main attractions. Katerina went out of her way to met us in the square and escort us to the hotel. She welcomed us with warmth, water and sweets. She gave us a rundown of what to see in Rhodes and a tour of the hotel. Katerina upgraded our room also. The rooms are stunning. They have put in a lot of time and effort in saving this piece of history. We have never experienced a welcome like this in all our travels. We had an early morning start and she packed us sandwiches and drinks! Not only is the hotel exceptional but the service provided was way beyond anything we have ever experienced. Do not hesitate and book this fabulous hotel! Thank you so much and be proud of your hospitality!

That we only stayed one night!

I was in Rhodes for two days and what an exceptional stay...The hosts Katerina and Safiros bent over backwards to make sure everything was perfect. I have been to 20 countries and I can honestly say that the freshly cooked breakfast was the best I've experienced. The room and bathroom were clean and all amenities provided...the bed was extra large very comfortable as were the pillows. Privacy and no external noise was a bonus and considering the location it's a feat in itself. Everything is within walking distance and no fear of getting lost...but with age your feet may feel it🙃. I hope I will be back .....I love ❤️ the people... Rhodes is really the island of the sun god Helios.

Porolithos is a boutique hotel so it was small and intimate, our hosts Katerina and Zafeiris, were welcoming from the moment we stepped in until the very end helping with our bags to the taxi. Located in Rhodes Old Town it has the charm of an historic building with intimate courtyards for fantastic 5* breakfasts in the cool of the morning. It was our first visit to Rhodes and Katerina helped to understand the history so we could get the most from out holiday. Our room tastefully decorated in an individual style with separate bathroom in a Byzantine style. The AC worked without any issues, keeping us cool during the siesta and overnight. Katerina and Zafeiris own and run this hotel with immense pride and we were delighted to have stayed to enjoy their hotel & hospitality. As this is the Old Town taxi access is limited but a 3 minute walk from the Gate of the Virgin.

Where to start! Upon our arrival we received the warmest of welcomes from Katerina, the owner of Porolithos Boutique Hotel. With only five rooms, the hotel itself is an intimate and lovingly restored 15th century knight’s house in the heart of the old town. A perfect place from which to explore Rhodes. It was truly fascinating hearing of its history and it’s renovation into its current exceptional form by the owners. Katerina was also incredibly helpful in providing suggestions of places of interest to visit and recommendations for bars and restaurants in the town and other parts of the island. The hospitality shown by Katerina and her husband was wonderful throughout the entire stay. The way the breakfasts were presented each morning was just lovely and made us feel truly spoilt. Our room was beautifully decorated with the most comfortable bed, pillows and linen. The bathroom (that shower!) was really luxurious. Most of all, we will always remember the kindness and hospitality of the hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
