The Spa facilities, although nothing extraordinary, are well maintained and sufficient for a 3-day weekend. The facilities are nice and the whole hotel actually looks very stylish with a very old-school vibe and finishes. The Room has been very clean and neat, albeit a bit small, but you get what you pay for. The presence of a Balcony is actually very useful especially if you're planning to stay for a longer time. The staff is very friendly and helpful, I can only thank them for their service and hope they're appropriately remunerated for their great work! The location is also great as it's on a small 'island' and surrounded by nature and parks. I would definitely stay there again and for a longer time.
The bed mattresses could have been a bit harder but they're mostly the same in 80% of hotels. Ask about the amenities and if you need to make appointments for some of the spa amenities. The Salt Cave would have been a great experience but unfortunately we didn't know that it requires an appointment. Please ask about it and make an appointment, I won't miss it next time.

An amazing oasis of calm away from the busy city nearby. The trees, parkland, gardens and nature surrounding the hotel and spa complex provide a relaxing (and mostly traffic free) environment to relax and unwind. The spa complex is truly amazing, with free use of the many pools (inside and outside) and good value optional treatments available also. A wide range of options were available each day for breakfast in the Grand Hotel. The cafe in the adjacent Thermal Hotel (accessed via the link tunnel if raining) provided good value drinks and lighter food options throughout the day. There are excellent travel links to the hotel. There is a bus stop less then 100m away, a tram stop 400m away (but you can catch the bus there, or further into the city where there are links to other tram lines) and for a door-to-door service the Bolt taxi service is excellent and good value ~£10 each way from the hotel to the Bazilika (Cathedral) for up to 4 people. The staff at the hotel are friendly, but not over familiar; courteous and helpful at all times. Nothing is too much effort, and they all speak excellent English (sadly my Hungarian is very limited, but this was never an issue). If I could give this hotel 11 (or more, much more) out of 10 I would gladly do so, and recommend it to anyone who wants the benefits of access to the city, but from a place of calm and tranquility.
In the spa pools some younger (age 7 or 8?) children were splashing and being quite boisterous at times without adult supervision. I would like the spa staff to ensure this is controlled and parents/guardians act responsibly with the children under their care. There is no real evening entertainment available at the hotel and spa complex, so if this is important, you will need to travel into the city.

We stayed at the Ensana Grand which, with its sister hotel, the Ensana Thermal, is situated on Margit-sziget (Margaret Island), a beautiful calm oasis in the middle of the River Danube within a short distance of Obuda and Budapest city centre. Both hotels allow guests free access to the spa complex which was a wonderful treat for us. Robes and slippers are provided. Our room in the historic Ensana Grand was lovely, very clean, warm and comfortable with a view of the mighty Danube. The breakfast was very good with numerous choices for all diets and preferences. The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. On one occasion, we walked down through Margaret Island to access the city centre - it was a beautiful walk of 2-3 kilometres in the sunshine; the autumn colours were stunning. We even saw red squirrels - such a treat! On other occasions, we used the 26 bus which travels along the island from the city centre through to the Margit Hid (Margaret Bridge) or we walked to the transport hub at Szentlelek Ter where there are frequent buses, trams and trains to all areas of the city and beyond. The public transport network in Budapest must be one of the best in Europe and we were amazed to learn that over-65s travel free on all buses, trams and trains. Proof of age must be produced on request. Disappointedly, we were never asked to show our passports! Budapest is huge and a short break cannot do it justice. We will definitely return to this magnificent city.
The coffee machines dispensed rather disappointing coffee at breakfast. For guests with mobility issues, the walk through Margaret Island to the city centre might be a little daunting although the 26 bus passes near the hotel complex and the stop is only a short walk away. While Obuda is nearby and there are some good restaurants there, the walk from the hotel involves walking from the island to the mainland over a very busy, noisy and polluted road bridge. However, having endured this walk a couple of times, we decided to walk on to the bridge and get on the bus to the hub. This worked well as it is just one stop and there are frequent buses.

I really like the island in the centre of the city. It’s awesome! I like breakfast, a beautiful building of the hotel, spa complex is nice.
Personnel of the hotel was not much friendly (not at all, but still the impression is so-so). The worst thing was when I arrived with 3 luggages, nobody helped me to open the doors …those two extremely heavy doors. They were looking how I was trying to enter from the reception desk. I haven’t ever been in the situation like this =( The room was rather dark as the window loomed out onto the wall. All the other things was nice.

Very beautiful hotel in the most prestigious part of Budspest. The island is very popular and emblematic of Budapest so you'll feel privileged to stay in it. Don't be put off by comments saying that it is not central. Budapest buses are amazing and included in your Budapest card, with so many other things, if you decide to buy one (and you should consider it). The hotel itself is amazing, breakfast is very good (we treated it as a brunch)and outdoor sitting area is so nice in summer. We didn't have a chance to try the restaurant as too busy exploring the town, but it is nice to know you it's there. The spa was a little busy at the weekend (like all spas in Buda) but close to empty weekdays. Don't forget the sun terrace, we almost did, lol. Being able to still use it after checking out was great as our flight was in the evening. Rooms are very quiet, air con could do with upgrade but room was cool despite 35C outside. The island itself has so much to offer: walks, running loop, water show, rose/ flowers gardens... If we come back to Budapest, we will definitely book again.
Nothing really

Brilliant location and beautiful historic building. Brilliant to have access to the Spa facilities for a reasonable price. No better place to stay than on the island imo. We have uploaded a full tour and review of this hotel on our YouTube channel ‘Welcome Abroad’
Not clear online to be aware that you have to walk through an underground corridor for at least 10-15min to reach the thermal hotel where the spa facilities are located. The rooms look lovely however as can be expected with older buildings, they’re not so sound proofed. Water is only provided on the first night. They should provide a new bottle during room service as most high class hotels do. It’s not made clear but there is changing rooms in the spa, even though they tell you to change in your rooms first before heading down the long corridor to the pool

The location is very tranquil, right on the Margaret island. There is a bus stop right outside of the hotel to take you to the city centre within 20 minutes. This was perfect for us as we came for the spa and only ventured out to the city to grab dinner. The hotel room was lovely, had a good size and all amenities needed. The whole hotel had a cozy, old-fashioned (but in a good way) vibe. There is a wide selection of breakfast items that have a good quality. To get to the spa in the hotel next door, there is an underground corridor connecting both hotels, so you can simply walk there wearing your bath robe. The spa has a decent size for a hotel and it has pools with thermal water. It was quite crowdy at times but I'd account that to the fact that we visited in the winter. We had a really great stay and I can absolutely recommend the hotel.
The corridor connecting the hotel and the spa was quite chilly.

Clean and comfortable room. Quiet and peaceful surroundings, perfect for a good night sleep. The spa access in general. The infused waters and the honeycomb at breakfast. Great staff at the reception desk. Overall a wonderful experience!
At the breakfast: Mostly industrial products, cold "hot foods", small coffee cups, no tea pots, the coffee machines constantly in need of intervention from the staff, the ones bussing the tables were too aggressive in their removing of the dirty dishes (barely ate the last forkful and the dish was whisked away), leftover salads from the buffet dinner the night before (in the other building) were not appetizing. At the spa: The foreigners (or people in general?) seemed confused as to the rules of the saunas (textiles/swimsuits allowed or forbidden? Barefoot or flipflops? The need to sit on a towel, or not...) Many people were not rinsing off between the sauna and the cold bath...no surveillance or enforcing of whatever the rules are).

The hotel is extremely beautiful, with a well-preserved vintage air, the island is extremely quiet with areas where you can walk through nature. The spa consists of 3 pools with different temperatures and about 3 saunas included, everything else is chargeable, including the salt cave. Our room looked really nice. The hotel is worth visiting for the spa area and the beautiful location.
The wifi worked quite badly, the thermostat didn’t work at all, so it was quite cold in the room during the night. All the restaurants have the same poor menu, about 10-15 dishes overprice. Regarding the included breakfast, if you are a vegetarian or vegan, the options are extremely limited and many products are bought from the supermarket. The food part was really disappointing, I hope they will be more careful in the future.

The hotel's location was perfect due to its proximity to the city center and the convenience of transportation. The breakfast, with its rich variety and delicious flavors, was the most beautiful start to the day.
The hotel's location on the island and the island's considerable size sometimes made it tedious to travel to the city center. The charm of island life can often be overshadowed by the inconvenience of distance, especially when the island is large and the hotel is situated far from the urban hustle. Travelers seeking tranquility may find this separation from the city to be a blessing, allowing for a peaceful retreat amidst nature. However, for those who wish to frequently visit the city's attractions or are on a business trip, the travel can become a repetitive and time-consuming task.
