It was a very fun party hostel with great staff and planned activities every day. Shlomo was a very fun staff member- everybody was very friendly and I had a great time as a solo traveller. The beds had curtains too so there was privacy.
The only thing I found strange was that there was two people who entered who were not staying. One was removed almost immediately but the second went unnoticed and decided to take me on a tour of the city. He was a very strange guy and his behaviour was inappropriate. If I had of known he wasn’t staying there I wouldn’t have went anywhere with him

All of the staff here are so lovely, especially Fransisco and the girl with the curly hair!! You can tell that everyone here is family. They do drinks games in the lobby every night and a pub crawl. I like that they do different bars every night! They also do day events too! Drinks are cheap enough at the hostel. The rooms were small but they have curtains so I didn't mind at all. Free coffee and tea in the morning. They offer free shampoo and shower things as well as hairdryers and straighteners if you ask at reception. There's always someone on the desk if you need something. Location was good, close to some nice cafes too. Would come back!!
The beds were a bit uncomfortable but I've had worse!

If you’re searching for the perfect place to stay in Budapest, look no further than this incredible hostel. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re met with warmth, comfort, and a vibe that instantly feels like home. The facilities are spotless, the common areas are inviting, and the location couldn’t be better, but what truly makes this place extraordinary is the people, especially Andrei. Andrei is the heart and soul of the hostel, the mastermind behind the unforgettable evenings that bring everyone together. Whether it’s lively pre-parties, hilarious games, or just great conversations, Andrei’s energy and charisma create an atmosphere where strangers become lifelong friends. He has a unique ability to make every guest feel seen, included, and part of something special. Every night was a highlight thanks to Andrei’s incredible organization and passion for connecting people. His efforts transformed what could have been a standard hostel stay into an experience full of laughter, bonding, and memories that I’ll treasure forever. This isn’t just a hostel; it’s a community, a family, and a place where moments happen that you’ll never forget. If you’re heading to Budapest and want more than just a bed for the night, you won’t regret staying here. A massive thank you to Andrei, Pietra and the entire team, you’ve created something truly magical. Highly recommended!
It was all great!

If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience during your stay in Budapest, Onefam Hostel is absolutely the place to be. Beyond offering a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment, the hostel has a unique energy that brings travelers from all over the world together. What truly makes this place stand out, though, is the people—and at the heart of it all is Andrei, the incredible pre-party organizer. Andrei is not just someone who plans pre-drinks; he’s the life of the party and a master at bringing people together. His infectious energy and talent for getting even the shyest guests involved turn every pre-party into an unforgettable event. Whether it’s through games, laughs, drinks, or simply great conversations, Andrei knows how to make everyone feel included and ensures that the night kicks off with a bang. Onefam Hostel isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s a home where friendships, laughter, and memories are made. Special thanks to Andrei for creating such a fun and welcoming atmosphere that makes every evening a highlight. If you’re visiting Budapest and want more than just a bed—if you want an experience—this is the hostel for you. Highly recommended!

Totally recommend! Staff was wonderful and very helpful. The location is the best, There are metro, bus and trolley stations in a walking distance. There are many electric scooters and bicycles. Also, many restaurants and shops. You'll be in five minutes in Szimpla Kert and Street Food Karavan. Also, St. Stephen's Basilica. The hostel itself was easy to access. it was clean. There were amenities. There's a storage room where you can leave your stuff before check-in and after check-out. It was safe, haven't lost a thing. Common space is pretty large, with desks, sofas and games.
Rooms can be a little noisy at the time of the Checkouts, depends on the guests I guess lol Coffee machines were kinda hard to use That's all

The social atmosphere starting with the staff. The activities are engaging. I met many friends and had a great time! The rooms are quiet and everything is clean. There's curtain for privacy. Hairdryer and flip flops to borrow.
It's the priciest hostel when I booked (2.5times the cheaper ones). Friday night party boat ride is a bit pricy. If you want to sleep, don't come here, people will return really late (and drunk!). Location wise, I'm lazy, so it not being right by a station is a small downside. People smoking at the front door, as a Canadian, I hated that! Shower is really small. No laundry.

Had an absolutely fantastic time here! Absolutely the best place for solo travellers who want to meet people. I ended up extending my stay by one night but I wish I could have done two. The hostel is well located, either within walking distance of everything you want to see or very near public transport (which is excellent in Budapest). The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the beds have curtains, which is very welcome. The best part about the hostel, though, is the staff and social life! There are excursions organised every day that you can join if you want, and at 8:30 the drinking games start down in the hostel bar. They’re a great way to meet people and have a good time and everyone is welcome and included. The staff run the games and are great for hyping people up. At around 10:30, the drinking group leave for a bar or club so the hostel is quiet after that time. Even though it’s a lively hostel, I found everyone to be very respectful in the rooms and it was easy to get sleep if that’s what you want. There was no one barging in and turning on the lights at 4am. 10/10 would recommend this place as a fun hostel. If I’m travelling alone in Budapest again I will definitely be staying here.
Literally the only things I can think of are that my pillow was quite flat and they don’t have laundry onsite. However, there’s an excellent laundromat 10 mins away so really it’s not an issue.

All in all a very nice hostel! Many activities you can joyn, like Drinking games in the Hostel, pub crawls or a walk through the city with one of the amazing staff peoples, like Pietra or Francisco! The man at the reception, Mauro was very nice too he helped me with the plannings for my further stay and as i got sick he was very sweet and caring and helped me there too. The building is nice, enough showers, good beds with curtains and a small kitchen. Had a good time there!

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! Jean was an outstanding volunteer. When I contacted them to inform them about my flight delay, he remembered my name at check-in, which was a lovely touch. Additionally, Jean gave me great tips about fantastic bars and delicious restaurants around the hostel, making my stay even better. He was incredibly kind to all the guests and provided excellent service. The hostel hosts multiple events every day, providing plenty of opportunities to meet new people. Moreover, the other guests were all very friendly and welcoming. Overall, this was the best stay I've ever had. The many volunteers at the hostel made it feel like staying with friends. I now prefer hostels with volunteers, as they often provide better and more personal service than paid staff. I highly recommend this hostel and look forward to staying here again!
If the hostel wants guests to write reviews, it would be great if they offered something like a free drink as an incentive. I saw volunteers and hosts frequently asking guests to write reviews, and it seemed quite challenging for them. Without any incentive system in place, it's unlikely that many guests will write reviews for free :(

Hostel location is great, just few min walking distance from main attractions or bus/metro stations which takes you further away. I took metro M3 from Nepliget to Deak Ferenc Ter ( 6 stops) which costs 1.20e and is located 5 min walking from the hostel and blue bus 100E from Deak Ferenc Ter to the airport for 6e ( 30 min depends on traffic) and you can pay both by card. Hostel crew was AMAZING and very helpful in every way 😊 There is a Bar on site open from 7 to 11 pm, they organize games/ boat party/ night out/ site seeing and picnic for all guest who wants to join and even a WhatsApp group to be up to date with whatever is going on every day. Kitchen and fridge available to cook or store, as well as free tea/coffee station, hairdryer, iron, towel and lock. Overall clean, friendly and safe... its a Perfect place for solo travelers who - if desired - wont feel lonely 😊
