In the past forty years, I stayed in hotels, this one was the first that looked better in reality than in the pictures provided by booking.com The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. We book a stay at Hotel Opál at the drop of a hat.

The gate to the parking lot only opens when you get very close to it. Too close for my liking. - There are no signs directing you to the parking lot, thus, I had to ask the receptionist how to get there.

The breakfast is plentiful and varied. Dinner was exceptionally good. The cleanliness of the rooms was perfect and as soon as we entered the room, a very good smell permeated the whole place. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. We will definitely come back if we visit gyongyos again!

I booked last minute, the rooms were very clean. Even when checking in late someone came to the desk immediately to check me in. Very friendly and attentive staff. Great cleaning personnel!

Everything went well. The staff was amicable, the breakfast and dinner were plentiful and delicious. The dinner was much better than in other restaurants for a friendlier price. The room was large, comfortably furnished, and an easily accessible relax area with saunas. Excursion starting points easily accessible by buses, such as Mátrafüred and Mátraháza. Hotel Opal is close to the bus station with frequent buses.

Small details: TV could be Smart at this price - 99% of the chanels are in Hungarian, uniteligeble dor foreigners. Parking gate has no sensor from inside, you have to ask at the reception to open in the morning

A very nice place with very nice people. Big rooms, very clean, quiet, excellent for a good night sleep. The breakfast was a rich buffet with enough options for all tastes; a good coffee on the terrace made it memorable. I also like they have 24h service which means I did not have to stress to arrive before 9 or 10 pm (I called, asked if it was a problem to arrive by 11 pm and they were very nice and welcoming). People speak English very well so no communication issues at all.

Room was great, clean, bed comfortable.

Breakfast. At 8:50 was just rest of some meal. Eggs and sausage were great.. but rest of not much. Cakes not much and good. Coffee too not so good. But only breakfast was average. Rest was great.
