This is a wonderful place. Positioned on an island in the river, they have given it a ship theme, which runs throughout, from the cannons on the patio outside, to the boat-shaped eating area we had dinner in, to the old nautical maps in the breakfast room in the morning. The staff were lovely. We were in a hurry to get to a concert when we arrived, but needed to eat, so the receptionist went and ordered our food for us whilst we went upstairs to get ready. Dinner was great. Peter in the restaurant was very welcoming and friendly and the food was great too. Everyone spoke excellent English. Breakfast in the morning was a cooked breakfast with sausages and scrambled eggs. Our room was clean and presented nicely. It had a lovely large balconey outside which had a view of the river and the hill on the other side where Gyor old town is situated, which was very pretty. The location also could not be better. It was literally a 5 minute walk into the old town, so we could just leave the car in the hotel parking and come back and get it later. This place is perfect for staying in Gyor, both in terms of price and what you get. You cannot do better.

The music in the breakfast room, a mixture of what seemed to be an electronic take on 1930s swing, might have been very welcome about 12 hours previously in a bar in town, but was possibly less so on a Saturday morning! I do love swing and jazz generally, but perhaps something calmer and more traditional, Ella Fitzgerald or something like that, might have been easier on the ear at that time in the morning!

Nice hotel on an island, very close walking distance to the historical centre of Győr. We had a spacious nice and comfortable room on the second floor. It is a very nice location (1km walk from the train station) and good value for money.

The only minor point is the fact that the rooms on the first floor have their balconies directly under the windows of the rooms on the second floor. This can be noisy if people use their balconies on the first floor and talk late in the evening there (for example on a warm summer night). However, the rooms have AC and if one closes one's windows there also is no noise issue from below. Only if one switches off the AC and sleeps/prefers to sleep with open windows, this may be an issue in some cases.

Nothing bad

This was a nice place for us, comfy and in the center of Gyor. Staff was nice and friendly.

We had a dog with us, so we had to pay an extra fee of 20 euro for him + parking + city tax, and in total it was almost double than the price of the room. So take this into consideration when booking here while having a pet. And on the rules for pets it's said that if the room needs extra cleaning for your pet you have to pay again a fee, extra of those 20 euro. It wasn't the case for us, just letting others know.

This location was a pleasant surprise, the building itself is very beautiful, very close to the city center, big room, very clean, all rooms have a huge balcony. Staff is very friendly, breakfast was delicious, standard options with a hot meal (eggs, sausages) or cold ( cheese, salami, yogurt, musli). The restaurant is very nice, with affordable prices and huge delicious portions. I liked this location and will consider it for my next stay.

It is hard to find a parking spot in the evening because there are many people coming to the restaurant and there are no designated places for those who stay at the hotel, but the receptionist told us to park anywhere and it will be safe, after dinner and a walk through the city we found an empty lot and moved the car there.

Nice and cosy hotel, very good location near the center and by the river in a park. Room was nice with a balcony, bed was comfortable (if you like hard mattresses). Breakfast was copious. Perfect value for money.

Curtains don't block the lights during the night and as well the sunlight. Not very well soundproofed: although it is not much it can bother light-sleepers as you can hear neighbors and the music coming from the restaurant/breakfast room (1st floor). For breakfast, there was a large variety of processed meat but all was quite fat and salty (seems like there was only pork meat only) - less options for vegetarians/vegans obviously. Staff was ok but I was expecting some more information about sightseeing and going around (Pannonhalma for example) than only talking about what is in the center which can be seen in 2 hours.

The room was large, clean, hot and comfortable, although not luxurious (not that we were expecting it to be). Lots of parking spots in the courtyard, which had video surveillance. Nice location and view. We also liked the infrared sauna situated on the first floor, where there were also bath robes available. In the morning we had a copious breakfast before leaving.

Nothing the property can do about it, but things to be considered if you're a light sleeper. The building is mostly wood, with thin walls, so not exactly soundproof if you are unlucky enough to have loud neighbors (which we weren't) . Also right next to it there is a bridge that had some traffic even during a weekend night, which could be heard from our room.

Located in the heart of the city in the river shore, beautiful and quiet. Parking lot is large and with good video surveillance. Room was very clean and had a big balcony. Breakfast was very good, from fruits and cornflakes to delicious bacon and eggs. Coffee was very good too.

The room’s entrance door and the bathroom’s one need to be changed. We arrived in the evening and we wanted to have one glass of wine in the pub, but the waitress refused because he said that the pc was turned off. It was 21:45 and there were a lot of local customers at the tables.

The hotel is located on a island in front of the Old Town of Gyor, so from my room (and balcony) I had a marvelous view on the Old Town walls, cathedral etc. To get to the old town you just need to walk 100-200 m, on the other side you may park your car at hotel's parking which is very convenient. Clean, quiet, very good breakfast. If I come back to Gyor I will for sure stay in this hotel once again.

Well, the hotel is not very modern, looks like from 90's or even earlier, but the marvelous location compensate everything.

The temperature inside the room (only A/C) can be controlled by the manager (trough an phone app). When I arrived it was cold; he put the temperature at 28, with no change till morning; it was almost a sauna inside.
