Hotel offers very good standard. Rooms are clean and very big and they offer heater which is very much appreciated as nights in January are cold. Sandstone design is really impressive. Food in restaurant is delicious, you can try wide variety of India cuisine. Restaurant is on a roof top with amazing view!! Hotel has great location - walking distance from Jaisalmer Fort. India is very difficult destination, tiring, noisy, dirty, dangerous, you are expose to scam every minute, this is destination only for very skilled tourists and in this extreme and incredible madness Hotel Lal Garh Fort and Palace is a sanctuary of peace, security and cleanliness. Recommended 100%

no single thing to mention, everything was SUPER

This is a fabulous place to stay where everyone makes you feel so welcome. The room was even better than the photos with a spectacular view of the fort light up at night. It's very comfortable. The rooftop restaurant is lovely although in January it was a bit too cold to stay sitting out into the evening. During the daytime it's a great view and a lovely place to relax away from the City. Upon arrival I was provided with plenty of information about Jaisalmer and which places to visit which was very helpful. I would certainly stay here again as it was great value for money and I really enjoyed my stay.

Our room was huge and had a nice, sunny window seat and the fort could be viewed from the room. The bathroom was also very big and had two sinks (not two toilets as mentioned on the booking.com info). It was in easy walking distance of the old city. Laundry cost 30 INR per item, regardless of size, and was returned the same day. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Although the room had a view of the fort, the window was in dire need of cleaning on the outside. The room would have been a peaceful haven but for the incessant barking of dogs during the night.

The owner, Mr Singh, was an excellent host and he was quick and responsive to our requests. He arranged for us to be collected and delivered back to the airport, a very good guide for the day and a most enjoyable trip into the desert for a camel ride and dinner under the stars. The room was excellent with the best view in Jaisalmer of the Fort from our bedroom window. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to fellow travellers, we felt so welcome

There was nothing we did not like

It was comfortable and extremely good value with very helpful staff. The rooftop restaurant had wonderful views of the great golden fort of Jaisalmer . The rooms were comfortable but the decor would not win awards. The manager arranged a desert trip for us, which was good value.

The restaurant staff were not very amiable. It has its eccentricities ,eg when we went up early for breakfast, one of the staff was asleep in his sleeping bag the middle of the floor. We actually found this rather charming.

The team at Lal Gah really went above and beyond. We stayed one night and spent the next night in the desert with a tour we had booked. Lal Gah not only offered to hold on to our bags while we were in the desert, but let us use a room to shower and freshen up upon our return at no extra charge. They also upgraded our room at no extra charge and gave us tons of recommendations for what to do in Jaisalmer. They really went out of their way to be helpful and ensure we had a great stay. Beyond that, the hotel was beautiful and comfortable, the location was excellent, and the food in the restaurant was great. Can't recommend highly enough!

The view of the Fort from our balcony was spectacular. The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, but Padam in particular stood out. We joined their Camel Desert Camp experience, which was a cut above and so much fun, and Padam, who drove us there, smuggled a birthday cake for my husband into the camp which they then presented during the music show. The musicians, who are top quality performers who have also performed extensively around the world, sang a rousing Rajasthani rendition of Happy Birthday to him. All of this was above and beyond, and made the occasion very special! We very highly recommend this hotel!

From the start Mr Tannu the manager , gave us a warm welcome and a briefing on what to do in Jaiselmer. In fact he was very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is relatively newly built in the Haveli style and has a great rooftop terrace restaurant with a great view of the fort ; the food and service were great so there was no need to go anywhere else. The rooms though not massive were quite comfortable with Wi-Fi available in the room. I would heartily recommend you also spend one evening at the Lalgarh Hotel’s desert camp, arranged by Mr Tannu, it is unspoilt and good value. We had an enjoyable evening there, and would happily do so again.It is much better than Som , which is a sea of hundreds tented camps , thousands of tourists ,noise, litter , dodgy jeeps and quad bikes.

The only negative thing was a slight wiff of the drains occasionally in the bathroom, ( not uncommon in India )Be advised a few of the cheaper rooms don’t have windows.

The rooms were spacious and nicely designed. It was quiet, AC was working properly and the service was excellent. We had an issue with a leaking sink and it was fixed immediately. The hotel manager was very kind, gave us a city map and recommended best times to visit places in Jaisalmer. The bottled water is free in the hotel which is a nice detail.

My impression of the indoor swimming pool was that it was not very clean - I did not enter it. Please note that the hotel offers breakfast and dinner but you need to pay for this seperately.

The Lal Garh Hotel offers great views of the fort with good facilities in a convenient location. On top of this the staff went out of their way to make our stay a very enjoyable one. The swimming pool was open and provided a welcome oasis in the heat of the day. The WiFi worked well across the premises. The food in the restaurant was good and the rooftop was one of the best places to eat in Jaisalmer. We went on a desert safari - facilitated by the hotel. It was excellent. The team, led by Padam and Papu, was knowledgeable and accommodating. It was magical. The hotel made the whole experience frictionless - a late check out enabled a 1500 departure, and we were allowed early access to our room the day after. Special mentions: the early morning transfer to the train station; and getting a pay per view subscription so I could watch the cricket. Really very good.

It was a pity that the tandoor was not working on the restaurant
