great location in the fort with fantastic view from the rooftop breakfast space. Pleasant renovations in the ancient building. Our room was huge —originally the haveli’s storage room—with a few tiny wall openings ti the city. It was authentic but rustic. We appreciated the owner-manager’s sense of hospitality (he even ordered a few local specialties to treat us on our last night) and reactivity in problem-solving (the antiquated wiring ignited when I plugged in the kettle and he had an electrician in to fix it within hours). We enjoyed the great friendliness of the hotel’s employee, Tajmuhammad, who kept following me to remind me to “mind [my] head” after I bumped it a few times (like in most Havelis, doorways tend to be low!) and was a great help all along.

By comparison with other heritage accommodation in Rajasthan on this trip, we find the INR7000+ daily charge (incl. tax) for this “super deluxe double room” and breakfast to be very excessive. We were also surprised to be asked to pay cash (no credit card machine available) but the owner-manager kindly helped us find an ATM where we could draw sufficient funds to pay for our five nights

The Desert Haveli Guest House was an experience that would be hard to forget. The staff, the location, and the general environment of the Haveli culminated to be the highlight of our Rajasthan trip. After a long day of travel from Delhi, we arrived very tired. However, understanding of the struggles of traveling with kids, the Haveli staff immediately got us to our rooms to rest. Some highlights from the Haveli were… The beautiful rooms each had their own unique style, which instilled a sense of comfort and ease. Watching New Years Fireworks from their terrace which overlooked the city and much of the fort. Opening the windows of our room and letting the desert billow through while watching the regular day life of the city bellow. Live music performances and dinner on the terrace The incredible staff, their kindness, and dedication to making your stay the best possible. The Desert Haveli Guest House will always be a topic of great conversation with our friends and family if ever discussing Rajasthan. We’re so grateful for the amazing experience at The Desert Haveli Guest House.

First of all the location and the facilities are AMAZING! Inside the fort itself, a quiet and beautiful area where you can find the most important tourist attractions of the city. The room had a super cool and original decoration, with stunning views, as well as the views from the terrace, which we can assure you are the best in the city. Hot water, air conditioning and very good cleanliness. They offer food services, free pick up and they are willing to help you with anything you need. We highly recommend the camel ride in the desert that they offer, we did half a day and the experience was incredible; a very local experience, full of peace and calm in the middle of nature and ending with a delicious dinner in the dunes where you can enjoy the silence and the starry sky. Thanks to all the team, you do a great job!

We are an Australian family who travel a lot and stay in many different types of accommodation but I have to say that this property is absolutely magnificent and we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to stay here. Our room had a queen bedroom with decorative carved windows looking out from the fort walls over the ancient city and also a single bed in a very large adjoining space which also had fridge, kettle etc. This was ideal for our family. This Haveli is 450 years old and is housed within a fort with parts that date back 1200 year. The intricate carvings, archers and features of this Haveli are breathtaking, staying here is an absolutely unique experience. The owner is very welcoming and is always on hand to answer any questions and offer advise on history, sightseeing and restaurants etc. There is no pressure to sell you anything and he is absolutely committed to ensuring you have the best possible stay in Jaisalmer. We felt very safe and well cared for during our stay. The fort and ancient city of Jaisalmer are a travelers heaven but to really understand this part if the world you need to head out into the Thar desert. The hotel arranged a camel safari for us and it was fabulous. We were picked up at the Haveli in a Jeep and enroute visited temples, shrines and villages before saddling up on the camels and heading into the dunes. We rode the camels for 90 minutes and then set up a base in the dunes where the guide lit a fire and cooked us a beautiful meal while we watched the sunset and then the moon rise and light up the desert, an amazing experience. It was very remote and there was absolutely nobody else there, there was not even foot prints in the sand, incredible. Highly recommended!

Beautiful quirky historic property where you can fulfil your Princess fantasies looking out the tiny little shuttered windows. Great location in the fort. The owner is “the man” in Jaiselmer, knows everybody, super helpful and I enjoyed chatting with him (and the other chaps). Stunning rooftop views for breakfast. Convenient restaurant on rooftop. They kindly allowed to have a nap in reception when I arrived super early at 5:30am, and allowed me to shower in a free room. Thank you for a good stay.

Exceptional service, food from restaurant is excellent, the bed is comfy, the room design is a must try, nice roof view. The location is perfect and give you access to multiple restaurants around. For any questions, the staff is always ready to help. We did the one night sleep with the stars with camel ride, the staff from guesshouse organized the pickup and trip. Dont think twice, you must try this place.

The Queens room is exceptional indeed! The owner is like "the man" in Jaisalmer, he helped us with everything you can do in the town (guide tour, desert overnight, intercity taxi) and generally he was able to arrange anything we asked for.

On all extra activities tipping was "mandatory" and none was really satisfied no matter the amount. I wouldn't really suggest the Jaisalmer guide he's cooperating with, unless you really want to see all temples in few hours and shop from his friends.

Dushyant was a very good host, he made us feel very comfortable. Generously allowed us an early check-in and late check-out. Helped us with pick up and drop. And arranged us a desert safari and gave us options. A very peaceful place in the fort and the terrace also has a very nice ambience and touch to it. The host made the difference when compared to other places

The only thing that wasn't value for money or could have been better was the desert safari.

Really beautiful and spacious room inside a fantastic Haveli, placed in a perfect position inside the fort. Everythings is maximum five minutes walk. There is a beautiful rooftop, where you can have breakfast or just chill out. Owner and his staff is really nice person, always helpful for any request or information. Really suggested!
