The resort was brilliant and the staff were so amazing! We witnessed a truly horrible German couple complain to the restaurant staff for over half an hour about their meal so they could get a free upgrade while we were at the restaurant on our first night. The German couple should be ashamed of themselves and I hope they read this along with everyone else. It was so upsetting to see such privileged tourists be so horrible to the nicest staff we have ever come across. The staff handled those disrespectful guest so well even after the guest threatened a bad review, in a very obvious bid to get a free upgrade. The resort was beautiful and clean on the most beautiful beach front. It was very very special. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for the most relaxing holiday in a stunning location and want to publicly thank the staff for a great time and amazing service.

Our stay was excellent. Since the moment we arrived we felt the charming attitude from every single staff member. The resort is located in a very private area but still close to town and to the best spot for sunset on the island. Room was extremely clean and super well decorated. A lot of amenities in the room available for free. The food from the two different restaurants as well as the service was definitely top. What really made our stay special was Jack, our "butler". Jack was caring, attentive, polite, professional yet giving us plenty of space to enjoy our holiday. I forgot a book in the room and Jack sent someone to the airport before our flight took off. Outstanding.

The hotel is located in a paradise area in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia. From the moment of our welcome until the very last day, ALL the staff (Jack, our butler, Eggi, the waiter, and some other names I cannot remember ) did everything to make us feel at home. The hotel is cozy and quiet, with green areas and direct beach access. There are 2 restaurants with fabulous views, and excellent food. The high tea with delicious treats was included. The chef was also very attentive to our likes, and I learned how to prepare some local dishes with him. The Hotel manager was very attentive and showed a good experience in hospitality. IN FEW WORDS it was an unforgettable place.

Although all the effort for the hotel staff is put into cleaning the beach every morning, it was unfortunate to see that the waters of this paradise and near the Komodo Islands (UNESCO heritage) are loaded with trash ( plastic bottles, bags, sandals, food packages, etc., etc.). We hope that the hotel and staff continue cleaning and educating the habitants of this location in Indonesia.

DO NOT Stay anywhere else. The price you will pay includes all of the extras that will cost extra when staying elsewhere. Service, accommodation down to beach bag in wardrobe to use.... every single detail is spot on. We stayed 3 nights, then moved on to Seraya Island, staying at Sudamala for 3 nights.... we stayed 1 night then repayed to stay at Plataran for the other 2 nights as we were so disappointed in the next place.

The only things are small, but add up, airport transfers are not included & are very expensive compared to getting your own.

There were too many things to like about Plataran Komodo, so I’ll try to sum it up: - The property is amazing, the attention to detail is just brilliant and OMG the bathroom is so spacious! - The staff, incl. the GM and our private Butler were all very attentive and they really went out of their way to ensure we have a great stay! - The location and amenities of the properties are truly 5-stars quality - The food and all the little services were really good without being over the top, so we felt like we were really taken care of - The communications before and during our stay were really good and our Butler really did us a solid by preparing breakfast picnic for our boat trip, setting up surprise dinner by the beach and so much more. Thank you, Syamsul! Overall, we think we found ‘the’ place for our stay while travelling in Indonesia. Plataran properties really set the bar and we would come back!

There was nothing we didn’t like. Maybe one small thing was the hedge in our Beachfront villa could’ve been grown higher to add a bit more privacy since ours was next to the Restaurant; we just pulled the window blind halfway down to solve it. No biggie. The Manager offered for us to move to another villa, but we decided to keep the original one as we just don’t want to be an inconvenience. All good.

It is an absolutely fantastic resort. Our villa was on the beach and it felt like paradise. Staff was absolutely fantastic , especially our "butler" Saphira who secured that our stay was fantastic from the first minute we entered the resort to the end that came to quickly. Our villa was wonderful in design and comfort. I could not think of a better place to stay at. The whole family would love to go back anytime. I can only recommend it!

Nothing to write here. Everything was perfect! Even the wifi worked well.

It felt really exclusive. There were only 16 villas in the whole property, run by a crew of 130 staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Loved everything about it -- the breakfast, the beach, the sunset, the afternoon tea, size of the villas,... The locals will tell you that the property is 'very remote', but it's only 15 mins drive away from the city centre. For the serenity and private beach, it is worth it.

The beach is MEH. Corals in very bad shape. No where close to a paradise experience. Sorry just being honest here. When booking a spa treatment, it would be best to advise there is a 21% service charge added to the quoted price. That is a bit sneaky! Finally, this place is extremely OVERPRICED for what you get. $400 USD+/night. It’s not the 4 seasons.

We absolutely loved our stay at Plataran from our initial greeting with our personal butler, Devin, at the airport to check out. The staff were incredibly welcoming. Within 20mins of being in the resort we opted to extend our stay. The rooms were lovely, we stayed at a beachfront villa. The room was large with a little sitting room and huge bathroom. There was a turn down service of an evening which was an extra little surprise. A filtered water tap was available so bring a reusable water bottle. The plug socket is a travel adapter- what a brilliant concept! The resort was definitely making an effort to be eco-conscious. Devin was a real delight and incredibly helpful. He was easily accessible via WhatsApp and helped us organise a variety of excursions. His English was great and we enjoyed talking to him. We did the sunrise breakfast which was beautiful. The spa was relaxing. Food was plentiful. We also did the snorkelling excursion to Angel island which was incredibly beautiful and another wonderful picnic was set up for us. There is a lovely on-site gym which was great. We have travelled extensively and the staff at Plataran have to be some of the best we have experienced. It was my birthday a few days after our stay and Devin even took the time to message. It’s this sort of attention to detail that really makes a trip. Thank you to all the team!

The website activity list needs to be updated. One of the caves is closed (obviously not Platarans issue!) and ideally an excursion list with options to visit the Komodo dragons.

Stunning villas, super comfortable beds, amazing views and great staff!

Accommodation is already pricy for regional standards, but additional services (airport shuttle, taxi service to the city and tours via the hotel) are extremely overpriced (3-4x more than similar services arranged in the city or at the airport). Most guests seem aware of this, so what’s the point of overpricing when practically nobody wants to use such services?
