the room size was good the gardens were lovely and it’s in a good position on a lovely street. the staff are really nice too

the breakfast was not good but that changed while we were there and it was better - still not sure they have it quite right yet - the food was nice but very limited ok for a couple of days but very repetitive if you are there for a week the bedding needs to be replaced with new bedding some of it was freyed with holes in and the towels were clean but old, worn and discoloured umbrellas round the pool area would be handy as there is no shade

Rooms are clean and big. The restaurant is very good. The swimming pool is perfect. But, the most appreciable thing is the staff ! We would like to thank all the staff. You were amazing. We appreciated your good vibes and the conversations we got about your culture during our stay. Take care of you !

Nothing, if we come back in Bali, for sure we'll choose this hotel.

This place was really nice and comfortable. The bed was huge and the room also very spacious and clean. The staff is super sweet and helpful, the wi-fi is good and the location is really nice in a quiet street, perfect ion you wanna be near the center but without all the noise and craziness of the main streets. Especially good if you are planning to do some yoga classes as Radiantly Alive, just 4min walking!

The only sad part was that I could not extend, I really liked this place and would have stayed 3 more nights if they were not fully booked already :)

The room was lovely and spacious! Bathroom was modern and nice. I had a very comfortable 3 night stay. The property is quite well located - a short walk to the Main Street and not far from good restaurants, yoga studios and spas. Staff were all very friendly and helpful! It was nice to chill by the pool with a fruit juice from the restaurant. I will definitely stay here again.

just nitpicking - I got a connecting room and the walls were quite thin so I could hear my neighbors (and they could probably hear me drying my hair too)! It was not a huge bother but it may be good to let guests know / choose the option of connecting rooms or not. The lighting in the bathroom wasn’t great and I would have appreciated a full length mirror. There were also some ants on the sun deck and chair in garden / pool (probably common in Ubud / Bali) so I couldn’t fully relax by the pool.

Kadak picked me up from airport to Ubud, very friendly driver and diligent worker. He made me feel very welcome and booked my transport to Gili T, excellent service 5 stars. Also receptionist and restaurant staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay again. Limited choice for breakfast, would have been nice to have cereal or pancakes on the menu. Close to city centre or easy walking distance. No faults. The room was much bigger than I anticipated. Thanks

The bathroom needs refurbishment

We loved our stay at Batu Empug. The grounds were beautiful with lush gardens and the pool is amazing. The kids swam everyday and quite often had the pool to themselves. Rooms were clean and spacious. Great showers and huge bath tub. The location is perfect for a short walk into town, yet set back on a quiet street so very peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of yoga and massage studios close by. We will definitely return!

Well located, on a side street but within 5min from center, close to yoga studio. Small hotel, intimate vibe (sometimes too intimate due to thin walls). Wifi works well, may happen that electricity goes down but its the poor power line in the area. Breakfast is somewhat poor in quantities but has a fee options to choose from and its freshly made.

Stuff and services offered, but may be a cultural thing, everyone is trying to sell anything for ridiculous prices. Do your check ups before.

Nice quiet street in busy Ubud, with Cafés and spas close. Nice staff, quick laundry service. Room spacious, nice balcony. It is on the more expensive side, however that’s the general price level of Ubud. Therefore it doesn’t affect our general score.

The mattress was pretty hard and the room could do with some minor renovations. AC was pretty loud.

Excellent location.... easy to walk to main areas with lots of options for eating and market shopping. The staff were excellent, always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and was cooked to order each morning beautifully. The kids are still talking about the pancakes!! Our rooms were interconnecting and right beside the pool which meant we had a beautiful tropical view. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back if we are back in Ubud.

The only element of our stay that was not to a high standard was the comfort of the bed.... it was quite hard and creaky. Perhaps even a new softer mattress would do the trick.

I miss the warm, friendly and attentive staff as soon as I left! The compound was beautifully landscaped and carefully maintained. The room was spanking clean. The compound was also located on a quiet street.

Sound in the corridor travels to other rooms even when talking at normal volumes. I was woken in the middle of the night because my neighbour was knocking on his room door to wake his companion inside. Having been on the receiving end of this, I tried to make as little sound as possible when returning to my room. A suggestion is that staff let all guests know this when they check in so that everyone has a pleasant stay :)
