Cahir House Hotel is just a few steps away from the castle. From our room, we could see the castle lit up at night. Great for dreaming of knights and fair maidens. The beds are comfortable, but we arrived in a heat wave, and the poor little fan couldn't cool down the room. We were very fortunate to arrive at Trad Fest, so sitting in their bar and restaurant, we were entertained with live music. If you are staying at the hotel, have your meals there. The food is exceptional. Just like the food, the service is wonderful. A big thank you to Finnbarr for always checking to ensure my meals were gluten-free and my wine glass was full. I would definitely recommend this as a good location to see Rock of Cashel, swiss Cottage, Cahir Castle, and Jerpoint Abbey and so much more You can start your day with a full Irish breakfast or a buffet breakfast, which was included in our stay. then return at the end of the day for the wonderful dinner in a pub like atmosphere.

Location, cleanliness

1 We had a late night on Saturday/Sunday morning and the doors at the hotel were locked. We couldn’t get attention of the night time staff for some time despite ringing the door bell several times and were waiting outside for a while until I telephoned the hotel directly and we waited until he responded to answer the door. 2 A family member was staying on same floor - had bed and breakfast and single occupancy - but paid same price as us as a couple but we didn’t have bed and breakfast. We tried to make sense of the costs - but couldn’t and unfortunately nor could the staff. Initially when the staff member started working out the price - a room cost for the single occupant would have been a lot cheaper. Just for future reference it might be worth exploring before booking

We enjoyed our stay at Cahir House Hotel. The hotel is located right on the town square and our room (103) overlooked the front of the hotel. The room was a fabulous, and very large suite with sofa and chairs, 3 windows with an elegant old world-world vibe, and a modern bathroom with dual sinks and even a dual showers! There is ample free parking in the rear of the building. The town itself is very walkable with the Cahir Castle and its adjacent park only 1 minute walk away. We met one of the volunteers who maintain the park and green spaces in town and he was very proud of his town. He suggested walking paths that go north and south along the Suir River and the views of the river and surroundings were just so pleasant! We only spent one night in Cahir House Hotel but I recommend it.

No lift Service for food was slow - long wait to be seated and served

The staff was nice and the food was excellent. The restaurant was very busy, and the service was slow. We never got the 2nd drink we ordered, but we didn't mind, and we received an apology for that. Maybe more organisation in the restaurant could be improved or could be just a once off as was very busy. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a nice view. Reception staff very friendly . Will be back again. We paid €135 for a double room and no breakfast included, maybe for that price breakfast be included. Overall, it was a very good stay 😊

The staff could not have been more friendly. We had a family event that was both happy and sad where people were coming from from England and ireland young and old. When I say they went out of their way to make sure everything was amazing for us is an understatement. I would stay there again and again. If anyone is planning a trip to the Midlands of Ireland it's a must. What an amazing place to visit and see ( I.e the Vee a slice of heaven on earth) and what a fantastic place to make you base.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I have coeliac disease and was a bit concerned about my diet but on getting there I was quickly reassured and well catered for. The food both at breakfast and diner was very good. I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Cahir House hotel

I have no comments in this regard. I was very well pleased with the accommodation and the service.

The room was lovely, the hotel decor was dated but physically well maintained. The location would have been great for a tourist looking to explore the town, though as I was just passing through, it mattered little.

The reception wasn't always manned, and the number given to contact the reception desk was not always manned either. The overall feeling of the place was that it was dated, but serviceable. Would prefer some later food options.

Fantastic staff. Made our stay so enjoyable and everyone employed at the hotel were so helpful ensuring that we were very well looked after. I asked for a buffet reception to be organised and it was probably the best buffet I have seen at a very reasonable price. I was actually sad to leave for our next destination but would certainly book again and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Cheerful helpful staff who went above and beyond to help you- from the receptionist to the waiting staff, bar staff- every worker in this hotel is intent on ensuring that you, the visitor, has a great stay. Accommodation was comfortable, food was exceptionally good- dinner was well priced and superb. Morning breakfast was wonderful - such a choice - everything you could ask for and then some.
