Entry to the grounds is through an electronic gate. As you drive through the grounds deer can be seen. After introductions we were shown our room which was prepared. The breakfast was most enjoyable. The food was cooked in the kitchen infront of you. At the time of my visit there were 2 ladies who engaged us in conversation. Before the main breakfast there was fruit and juice to enjoy. After breakfast a walk in the gardens is recommended reading the signs. If you are lucky you will see the wild boar too. We were even told to eat local at The Hunters Rest which we did.
A lovely place to visit.

10 stars *** ! Such a fantastic stay at Ballinwillin House. Super comfortable beds (maybe the best ever, apart from a rare stay at 5** Hotel !); with a lovely breakfast hosted in the owners' kitchen, cooked to order. The bedroom was in a separate building from the main house (maybe converted stables), really lovely and quiet in a countryside setting, but just 5mins drive from Mitchelstown town centre. The hosts could not have been more hospitable and welcoming, from meeting on arrival and cleaning the car windscreens (such a lovely unexpected touch) - so guests set off with a clean windscreen. My fault for parking under trees with birds! Plenty of free parking at the property. Lovely fully-stocked kitchen and dining room available in the accommodation block, which would be really useful for longer stays or especially familiies. Cannot recommend Ballinwillin House enough, will definitely be back! And a great price for such comfort.. Thank you Patrick & Miriam.

Everything! A warm welcome, beautiful room building and surroundings, bed was SOOO comfortable, breakfast was delicious and we loved the set up for it, what a stunning kitchen and great chats were had. We had a wee walk round the peace Garden after we checked out, just beautiful. Excellent value for money all in all and a memorable experience for us. If ever in the area again would definitely stay here again. Thank you Elaine and all the staff here
We liked everything!

Breakfast was perfect. So beautiful and flavorful. It was the best in our 9-day visit to Ireland. Patrick, Miriam and Elaine were the best hosts. We left feeling very good. Beds were comfortable with duvets that made you want to stay enwrapped in coziness. We loved hiking the grounds and learning about the family, home, work, and history. Ballinwillin House is an asset to Ireland's tourism industry. it's the real deal and a great ambassador for the country.

The property is located on the edge of town and includes pastures and peaceful gardens. Very quiet and an added bonus was the deer grazing on the edges of the pasture. Patrick, Miriam, and their staff, Elayne, were all fantastic. We had an excellent breakfast with them in their kitchen and had a very enjoyable conversation with them. It would be hard to find better hosts! Our room was very comfortable with everything we needed.
Absolutely nothing.

The room was superb, very spacious, with 'like-home' facilities of a shared and scrupulously clean kitchen, dining and living room area. Large comfortable bed. The bathroom was private to the room and very spacious- loved the touch of a proper disability chair for the shower. The rooms are set in a beautiful very large old farmhouse, so it has a lounge room like entrance/foyer, and the shared areas. 5 star quality decor and furnishings, the quality of the furnishings, cleanliness, and facilities would rival anywhere else you could stay. I have stayed in 5 star hotels all around the world, and this is one of my favourites and rivals anywhere else i have stayed! I cannot praise enough the quality of this accommodation. The staff are wonderful, warm and friendly people who could not do enough for us, especially when i became ill and had to call an ambulance - the owners were right there to support my husband and i cannot thank them enough! Breakfast, my gosh the cooked full breakfast was divine! Sausages and bacon from their own wild boar, eggs from their own hens, and all cooked fresh in front of you while you chat. The extensive buffet for the continental option was very impressive and I would say there is plenty of range there to make anyone very happy with breakfast. Their homemade marmalade is divine! Very close to delicious food in the town, we ate in town most evenings at Hunters Rest (great for food). Only a half hour drive to authentic New Zealand Pavlova at the cafe in the Library in Tipperary too, what a bonus! We chose this location because it is so central to Southern Ireland, you can do a day trip in any direction and cover most of Southern Ireland from here. Very peaceful and quiet, such a wonderful place to stay that i didn't want to leave. Very secure with the houses and farm within security gates, i liked the fact that you could go outside at night and no-one would be wandering around.
nothing could have been better, other than not having to leave!

The combination of hotel room with breakfast in the mews combined with breakfast provided at the main house. The plus for us is that the mews contains a separate living/dining/kitchen...all well equipped and it meant that our group of four were able to have a meal together...but our bedrooms were in separate part of the mews. The Aldi at the end of the street (walking distance) means that you can arrive without provisions, go for a quick shop at Aldi and eat comfortably "at home". If you like gardens and fields with deer & boar ...then it's a very relaxing place to spend some time and we would all happily stay there again. The reception by the family both on arrival...and convivial breakfast room/kitchen meant that an informal chat was a pleasant addition. Noting however that there was a second dining table at the end of the room, if there are guests who prefer to remain quiet.
Perhaps the description of Ballinwilllin House wasn't clear to me when booking...I wasn't sure if we were to expect a retreat or a hotel and whether there was a dinner option available. Having said that, it was a pleasant surprise on arrival.

Miriam gave us the most amazing welcome when we arrived and looked after us brilliantly. The estate is magical , animals were a bonus and the farmhand was very friendly telling us all about their welfare a lovely man. The beds were super comfy, we slept well and had a friendly breakfast in the big house. We would definitely return and try the estates wine next time.

Hands down the family favourite out of all the BnBs we visited on our trip to Ireland. They have a lovely farm with deer, goats, and the most lovable dog, Marlie. The rooms were huge, gorgeously put together and the beds were so comfortable. In addition to that, Pat and Miriam were wonderful hosts who served very good breakfast in their home. They were so warm, so helpful and just great people to have a chat with! I enjoyed the mindfulness walk they had in their garden too, and there's not a thing i'd say they could've done better. We will be back for sure, till then i strongly recommend choosing Ballinwillin House for your trip!!

Lovely large room with great facilities, lots of storage space. Lovely en suite shower room with lashing of hot water. Lots of parking too.
Nothing not to like. It was unseasonably warm/hot over in Ireland when we were there and the duvet was far too hot and thick. So a much lighter duvet would have been appreciated.
