Pat and Carmel are the very best of old world Irish Cead Mile Failte (Ireland of a thousand welcomes). They work seamlessly as a team to assure that none of their guests felt left out while they cooked a sumptuous breakfast and while serving they both made sure to take the time to chat to the multiple guests. Pat's knowledge of the local area and the people who live/lived there is unparalleled. Not to mention, Carmel kindly drove to my cousin's house so that I could enjoy myself and not worry about driving. It was very relaxing and enjoyable staying with them and it's close to: Knock, Brickens and Claremorris. The gardens were lush and beautiful, a true reflection of the love and care that this couple have for the flora/fauna, their guests and each other.

Our visit was only a few days before Christmas and the property (both inside and out) was beautifully decorated for the season. The proprietors were very welcoming and organized. The country setting was peaceful and quiet. The breakfast, which included a variety of options and two homemade breads, was excellent. Close proximity to Knock, where we attended the Carols by Candlelight at the Basilica. Also close proximity to Claremorris and Kiltimagh, which offer a variety of dining options. I suppose the ultimate gauge in any review is whether you would return and the answer here is an absolute yes!

Pat and Carmel made myself and my 9 month old son feel right at home. We only stayed for a night as we were visiting friends but our room was very comfortable with tea, coffee, water and little chocolates in the room! Breakfast the next day was absolutely delightful, with not only a choice of cooked breakfast for me but beautiful overnight oats and some lovely choices for my son who had his own little place set at the table and a high chair so he could eat like a king. Their hospitality truly warmed my heart and if I need to stay in the area again I will definitely choose Conways.

We were delighted with the warm welcome we received, the beautiful house, peaceful surroundings and lovely personal homely touch. Nothing was too much trouble and our hosts were genuinely concerned with our every comfort. The beautiful breakfast was really excellent. Carmel is clearly an exceptional cook and we were more than happy to sample her homemade delights. All in all a wonderful stay.

Nothing to criticise

Pat & Carmel were excellent hosts, very welcoming & attentive. Everything about the accommodation and service was top class. They pay great attention to detail and it shows. Breakfast was exceptional. There was great choice and all freshly prepared. Special mention must go to the overnight oats with yogurt and fresh fruit and the homemade Walnut & Courgette cake. Delicious!

My hosts, Carmel and Patrick, were a delightful couple. They accommodated me in every way. I felt as if I were a member of their family. In fact, I met some of their family and friends. It was a wonderful visit. I hope to stay in touch with them.

It was a bit tricky negotiating into their drive and carpark from the road, especially at night, but with my patience and that of other drivers on the road, I managed without incident.

On arrival I was given a coffee and cake - The property was clean and comfortable with ensuite facilities. The owners were friendly and most helpful with my enquiries about tracing my relations - they enquired with their priest to assist with advice. One owner took me in his own car to show me my areas of interest that I may not have found otherwise. Most friendly and helpful!

Slight suspicion that the drains had a smell! A perfectly adequate air freshener was available but that only masks the problem!

The general friendliness of the owners. Nothing was too much trouble particularly Breakast time.

I cannot think of any criticism for the period I was there. The only issue is entering and leaving the site which is something, not in the control of the site. Making use of a Sat nav is recommended given the hotel being on a main road.

We had a lovely stay in a very comfortable room in a lovely quiet location, a nice touch is having an electric blanket. The breakfast was lovely and great selection it was nice having home made scones and bread. Lovely to look out into the garden seeing the birds in the hedges and on the bird table. Carmel the host is lovely and welcoming and we had a really lovely stay and will be back .

My hosts were just lovely. Went the extra mile and gave me a lovely recommendation to visit Lady of Knock so that I could “ light “ a candle for my late husband. ( first battery powered coin slot candle I have seen but the property was lovely)

A little out of our way… but that was really my fault for not having our itinerary locked down.
