From the moment I arrived (as a solo traveller for a break/de-stress) I was so impressed with the warmth of the staff. When I parked my car, I was unsure if where I parked was part of the hotel complex. I saw a youngstaff member nearby and asked if where I parked was ok. He kindly asked me to wait while he got confirmation from the hotel about where I could park for my 2 night stay. He returned and explained so clearly as to where to park. I was so impressed with this very polite and kind young man. Thank you again Gabriel! The Station House are very lucky to have you as a member of their team. I had a very relaxing stay. The bed was so comfy! I had wonderful sleeps! Breakfasts were delicious! Fantastic range to choose from! Natasha and her team were so welcoming to guests arriving for breakfast each morning. The atmosphere was always relaxed but very efficient.

Having to leave! I will return again soon.

The location was a short walk to the main part of town. We didn’t use any of the facilities like the pool or spa so can’t comment on them. Lots to choose from at the breakfast buffet, including made-to-order pancakes (more like crepes), scrambled eggs and porridge. More than anything though, I have to thank the staff - particularly Jack and Claire - for going above and beyond to ensure that we had the best stay possible.

Our room, 206, was unbearably hot for the duration. We had the windows open as wide as they could go (only a few inches) and we had the fan going the whole time, which helped. It seemed that our end of the hallway was much warmer than everywhere else.

The staff was fabulous and we had an absolute blast every night in The Library into the wee hours

Although the weather was abnormally hot for our 3 day stay in Clifden the rooms were almost unbareable to sleep in, as we couldn’t open the windows more than a few inches and to the get the little bit of air into the room we had to keep the blinds open which meant bright floodlights from the fire station across the street right into the room all night. Grateful for the air conditioning in the lobby and library though!

We had an appartement from the hotel. The appartement was clean, big (110m2) with all necessary faclities (in the apartment but also in the hotel with bar, restaurants, pool, fitness center, etc) Hotel was in the center and so we could visit the city by walking Hotel is also well located to visit Connemara region. Hotel totally met our expectations.

Appartment are quite old and would need some renovation.

I have been a guest at the Clifden Station House many times. There are so many positives - one can walk everywhere, parking is convenient, the breakfast buffet has a good array of choices, staff are kind. The interior decor includes a great collection of vintage travel posters. My room was available when I happened to arrive earlier than expected.

The hot water was slow to reach my room so my showers were warm to lukewarm. But it was a minor quibble.

Great location, walking distance into Clifden town. Access to the hotel facilities, including the pool and leisure centre were great additions, especially with changeable Irish weather. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful Welcome basket including home baked bread bread, milk, orange juice, butter and tea and coffee made it easy to arrive and settle in. Linen, towels and toiletries also provided for each guest.

A little dated interiors but clean and well stocked with living items apartments. Could do with a lamp in the living room rather than all the wall lighting on, just to give a nicer atmosphere in the evenings. We were traveling with small kids so probably would have preferred the tv to be wall mounted rather than on a small freestanding trolley stand.

The hotel is in the centre of Clifden, there were plenty of parking spaces for easy access to the hotel. the Spa is free to residents, good to have a sauna and steam room to help with your aching muscles. The staff and facilities were first rate. The breakfast was buffet style allowing you to fill your plate with as much as you wanted to get you through the morning. overall well worth a stay.

Staff, particularly the Manager, James, were exceptional. Really helpful, friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Girl on reception gave really detailed Information on running/cycling trips. Sinead at breakfast was really nice, friendly and easy to deal with. Strong sense of pleasing the customer clearly apparent.

Room was a little small. It would be nice to modernise the rooms. Even though the rooms were perfectly adequate and the bathroom was pristine, the hotel could elevate itself to the next level with a few fresh flower arrangements outside and inside the hotel

Room size and cleanliness - generally very comfortable Good quality food for dinners - good selection and tasty, using local produce/seafood Staff friendly and helpful

Nothing really but perhaps the breakfast could have provided a bit more variety - for example, no scrambled egg. But there was tasty smoked salmon. So not really a problem.

Breakfast had all you wanted 😊 nice and warm room as I like it

Plugs in the room are located too low on the ground or above dressing/TV table. Needs to be upgraded, not comfortable to use and can break my charging cable. Where coffee machine and kettle is located need two plugs for each machine. Hairdryer wire too short as how it is built in the press. Standing Lamp beside window needs to be looked at as doesn't work, could be bulb or wire.
