Nice selection for continental b'fast. Great view with the balcony (nice sunsets at 10:10PM!)

We booked our first night through Booking.com in January (at a certain rate). Then in Feb, we decided to add a night at the Strandhill Lodge so we call them to do that (so that we wouldn't end up in a different room the 2nd night). The agent booked us without telling us the rate would be higher. We got the confirmation email which showed the higher rate, sent her a message through Booking.com about it and no one ever replied. A month later or so, we had to call Strandhill directly and they did lower the rate (after many back and forth emails) but not to the same that it was on Booking.com. Something to be aware if you wish to add nights later... Once we were there, the guy at the desk did end up apologizing about no one having replied to our message.

Fabulous view from our room. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Friendly staff at reception. Strandhill less than 10 mins walk.

The breakfast ... if hotel breakfast is important to you, maybe keep looking before you book. Everything was wrapped in cling-film (for example, 2 slices of cheese- in cling film!) Fun-size boxes of cereals (good enough selection). I understand this was appropriate during Covid but now it felt overdone and not environmentally sustainable. I would still stay here but be aware of the breakfast situation beforehand.

The breakfast was good, but no more than that. Self service. Individual packets of cereals (wide choice). Coffee was quite good, a bit better than than average in 4-star places (where it is usually poor!). The fresh fruit was disappointing, small portions in individual bowls (ou could, of course, take a second, but it variety and ripeness disappointed.

A very high tog duvet was far too warm to be even contemplated so we removed the duvet and used the duvt cover - on it own. A light bedspread or similar would be a welcome and useful touch

There was an amazing view of the sea from our room and a lovely comfortable chair to sit and enjoy it. Although there isn't a cooked breakfast what was on offer was excellent. A great selection of bread, pastries and cereals. There were cold meast, cheese, hard boiled eggs and a wide variety of tea. All served in a relaxing setting.

The kettle was stored on a cupboard with no plug near so it had to be lifted on it's tray to a socket but there wasn't really a designated socket with ample space to use it comfortably.

The staff were extremely helpful and warm from start to finish. The room had everything you could think of. It was super clean, spacious and extremely comfortable in every sense. I found it beyond comforting and relaxing which is exactly what I needed. I thought it was strange that there was no restaurant in the hotel but the food nearby was lovely. The continental breakfast had everything you needed so I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for everything, I plan on returning on a monthly basis, depending on the price available.

Price point and no hot breakfast.

Staff, very freindly and competent, contenental breaksfast, depending what time you go for breakfast alot of crossaints and good/sweet stuff can be gone

Rooms need Air Con if the wearther is warm, we had two rooms one at the back and one at the front, fan in room was provided but didn't really help, not sure if air Con shoud be standard for a 4 star hotel or not. Leaving the window open at the back of the hotel was not really possible due to noise of traffic. Continental breaksfast, depending what time you go for breakfast alot of crossaints and good/sweet stuff can be gone.

We loved this hotel. We had a sea view with a balcony. We had a hire car and there was plenty of parking. Before we arrived we were notified that the breakfast was continental. The breakfast was exceptional and nicely displayed. We were an hour early for check in and decided to walk to the beach and ate lunch and a coffee at Honestly. We would highly recommend this restaurant near the beach. We loved the size of the room and also bathroom. Large towels were a plus. Highly recommend this hotel.

We liked everything.
