The breakfast was delightful and spa was beautiful

Room floor was slightly dirty. Picked up a few bits off the floor and put in bin. The jets in the bath wernt working which was a disappointment.

The breakfast was lovely and staff

Rudeness of one of the receptionist on two separate occasions so we kept our distant from her if we had any other queries. Choice of food in Douglas hyde restaurant. Two meal choices. Two of the family did not like the menu and there was nothing else but try at €65 a head and leaving hungry In the upper bar no seats as reserved for afternoon tea and seats remained full until 8pm. Lower bar was closed as wedding. So we either stood or went into a very open dining area which was the walk through for a wedding reception. Bedrooms /spa /gym t swimming pool etc.

The hotel decor, staff, spa, grounds, bar(s), and facilities were all excellent. The casual dining meal was very good and my "rare" steak was cooked and rested perfectly.

The buffet breakfast is a disaster - best to order from the menu, as the eggs were "rubber" and the other items were sitting in a bains marie for a long period of time. The 8-course tasting menu was a bit hit & miss as some of the courses were unrecognizable. The beef in the dish was perfect but the halibut (that me wife had) was over-cooked.

Myself and family went for one night but ideally you would want to spend at least two nights here. It is in a remote area so the lake and the hotel itself is really what is so lovely about Kilronan. The castle itself is gorgeous and exactly what you'd expect from the pictures online. The staff were very friendly and we asked for late checkout as we couldn't stay for two nights and they kindly let us which was great. The food was lovely myself and my son ate in the casual dining hall and there was a lot of choice which was great.

The check in itself was long I think we were waiting 10/15mins before we had anyone talk to us. Now the staff were lovely it just seemed there wasn't enough during that time. Then the only other thing I didn't like was the woman's showers in the spa/leisure centre. They could really do with a deep clean and a bit of maintenance; handles broken off the dial on the shower, shower gel broken off the wall and just on the floor and hairs and fluff on the shower floor. In a hotel which offers such a prestige look and feel in other areas it just lets it down. I expected shampoo and conditioner to be also in the showers as is usually the case in hotels at that price.

Lovely staff, lovely relaxed bar, great breakfast. This hotel was a really lovely place and we really enjoyed it.

Two small issues which could be altered easily. 1.Swim lesson on in pool when we went down (that was no issue per se as all children deserve this), but parents in watching with no shoe protectors on, I view this as poor hygiene practice, strollers with dirty wheels also in the pool area. This could do with being rectified asap. 2.Casual dining area is just a room used as a walk-way to lifts and leisure centre from lobby, this should be screened off I think.

I booked the rooms for my husband and I as well as my 80 year old parents. The view as we approached was STUNNING and the entrance was so gorgeous! My parents were so so excited and that really was the reaction I was hoping for. Our rooms were adjoining but the second day, the power in their room mysteriously went out and they had to change rooms, but they were still on the same floor. I did miss the lovely blue lights under the sink and tub that weren't working in our room (306) and only knew about them because I saw them in my parents room (304). But that's a tiny detail. The rooms were lovely and the bathroom was fabulous, especially the tub! The staff in every instance was professional, kind, and magnanimous. I'd like to specifically commend Ms. O'Rourke who was such a pleasant shining face each morning!! Always a pleasure to chat with her. I hiked many of the trails around the lake and said they were gorgeous. We ate at the fine dining on Saturday night and my goodness!! I've had many great meals and this was definitely one of the finest. The artistic presentation was superb and the taste of the many components was a treat to explore. Seaweed!! He made seaweed tasty!! Haha After 2 weeks touring beautiful Ireland, I asked my parents what their favorite part was... Slea Head, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands, so many other amazing things we saw and did... and they immediately said Castle Kilronin. So thank you for a lovely stay and more importantly, a lovely memory for my dear parents as this might have been their last big trip. (Hopefully not!)

Well, the electric issue, but it didn't really dampen our stay.

Lovely hotel, very clean. Ate dinner in palm court, had the casual dining menu and it was lovely

We were a little bit disappointed with the pool as there were swimming lessons on when we arrived to the pool on Friday evening, half of the pool was cordoned off. We just weren't warned about this in advance. There was very little space to swim as a few people were occupying the lanes that were free for guests. We ended up only staying for 20 minutes as we just felt awkward as swimming spectators were also taking up the lounge chairs at one side of the pool.

Only stayed for one night but it was mainly positive experience. The hotel is in spectacular estate which is well kept and makes great impact on arrival. When it comes to dining, overall very good. We had the 8 course tasting menu which got 7/8 marks. The cheese course was a miss - big slump in the high bar set by previous courses. Service nice and professional. Breakfast was made to order which is a great plus and well expected from 4* up. But no “normal” bread or rolls - only soda bread. Also to point out - there was a wedding on in the hotel but one could not tell most of the time. It was well managed and kept separate. Certainly deserves a come back.

Bit more attention should be probably given to throughout the day cleaning as there was some dust around the reception. I know it’s hard to avoid (it’s a castle), but if done more frequently it wouldn’t be as obvious. The leisure centre is nice. I particularly like the fact that it is on the dark side. Disappointing were the steam room and sauna though. Steam room without steam and sauna pretty cold. Jacuzzi was nice.

Kilronan Castle just blew us away From the minute we drive up the tree lined driveway to the greeting at reception and for the rest of our stay we couldn’t fault it Our room was in the original part of the castle and I’ve never slept in a more comfortable bed There is an amazing spa like swimming pool and leisure facility but it also has a designated SPA which we didn’t use on this occasion unfortunately The whole place including the leisure centre was spotlessly clean The staff are amazing so friendly and helpful The food is delicious I could go on … highly recommend this hotel it’s 5*

Absolutely nothing

Our stay in the castle was a dream we had ages ago. And now it came through. From the very warm welcome through the lady at the reception, the excellent service in the breakfast toom, the restaurant, the bar (drawing room), we felt really special. Everyone was so nice and friendly and all little wishes were granted. The spa experience was fantastic, I even enjoyed a nice back massage. The food was delicious and the presentations are incredible. We will definitely return. It was a get away like no other. We had a fab time and my son felt like the master of the castle enjoying the "room service" breakfast in bed treat.

Maybe highlight small kids splash time at arrival. I felt they were a few elderly guests that would have preferred a more quiet time after splash time was over.
