I liked the location of the hotel. It's close to downtown but also near the entry into town (it's located in the old town of Grand Centre which was amalgamated into Cold Lake). Even though it's on the main road coming in, I did not hear any traffic noise. The other plus is the "all in one" services. Besides the nice room, there is a restaurant (a Sawmill but is being converted to a Smitty's), liquor store (prices seem reasonable too), and a licenced gaming room (VLTs) for those who like to "drop a twenty". All in all, the perfect oasis.

I was kind of sad that the Sawmill is going away but I can also understand that because the hotel is leaning more toward being more family friendly, it makes good business sense.

I stayed in the "motel" portion of the hotel for the first time and actually quite enjoyed it. It's the classic two story affair and is about 10 meters from the main building. It was very quiet and the amenities were the same as what you'd get in the hotel portion. There is a Sawmill restaurant on site for those who like their beef (there are other offering as well) plus an on-site liquor store and a games room with a fair number of VLTs (if you are into a little wagering). Handy location - right on the highway but it never seems too busy. You might also get to see or hear the odd F18 as the 4 Wing is stationed at Cold Lake.

This would be food related although the dinner I had at Sawmill was excellent. My only peeves would be that the tap beer selection isn't great. All the corporate brews are pretty much on tap but nothing in the way of craft beers. The other nit I have is that the "free" breakfast (only if you paid for it with the room) is only offered from 6 to 9 AM on weekdays although they do extend to 10:00 AM on the weekends. Being a retiree traveling for pleasure, it would be nice to amble in at a later hour. All in all, minor inconveniences...

clean, included breakfast was very convenient with a good variety and selection

The air conditioner in our room wasn’t working both days we did let the front desk know after the first night but it was not fixed and it was quite uncomfortable in the room both nights. Otherwise the stay was wonderful.

We like that it is located in the center not far from tourist spots, The hotel is homey, staff are awesome and welcoming Complimentary breakfast is great !

The pool, ( no complain with the pool itself) Just most of the guest that swim there doesn’t follow pool guidelines, it’s just so unhygienic that they just go direct dipping on a pool without pre bathing and wearing the proper outfit. ( we saw people there wearing cotton tshirts ,shorts , some even dress )

Friendly check in/out staff & delicious free breakfast . My other family members who also stayed there loved the pool! Nice clean rooms…

The hotel is well located, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the staff are warm and attentive. The air-conditioned room is warm. I live here every time I pass by.

Pool was awesome,breakfast was also awesome plus the facilities were so quiet. Staff were all pleasant and polite.

Everything was excellent! Except the TV didn't have any Netflix or things like that... Worth the stay through

One bed was hard, the buffet breakfast had no food and plates, and there was load bang above our room all nite it.

it was very nice place but it was very loud. there was wedding happening and was very hard to get my kids to sleep because of the noise
