best place in l.a. and everywhere actually

CM is always a nice place to relax, unwind, meet friends, soak up the sunshine and be transported to another era. The property is central to many things, however feels like its own private sanctuary. The staff are always exceptional, with particular recognition to Brendan who is a staple to the property and the ambiance - he’s a professional who keeps the standards high for all guests and ensures we are never without a cosy nook, a menu or a drink. This trip I met a newish addition to the team, Nick - who was working by the pool, who had a bubbly energy that was infectious to all around him. It’s the staff who make the venue what it is, always considerate and engaging - no matter how busy the venue is.

I loved the personalized touch. I mentioned that I was staying here for my anniversary with my partner. I was stunned to see wine waiting for us but also receiving a room upgrade. It was a literal dream. I do not remember his name but he was working the front desk, hispanic, and told us he lives in Ktown. He made my trip with my partner just out of this world. The wine was great but being surprised to a room upgrade was just everything. I wish I could stay here everyday

The staff was truly exceptional and made us feel like we were at our home away from home. I called the front desk for a toothbrush and she was at my door in 3 min…on an upstairs floor. Additionally there was none of the usual hotel hassle around early check-in or late check out. I asked a staff member if there was somewhere I could buy sunscreen and he offered me his own. Truly above and beyond.

No notes. I read through some of the negative reviews but that wasn’t my experience. Having stayed in hotels all over the world, this is truly a unique experience with exceptional staff. Yes the rooms are smaller and the bathrooms original, but I’ll come back here every time.

The old maintained aesthetic of the place and the history of the chateau marmont itself. Enjoyed walking the campus and the environment. The old chateau has a nice charm to it and centrally located to both West Hollywood and Hollywood.

There were lots of noises during the night from what sounded like in the walls and plumbing. But also the phone kept ringing at night. I would answer and no one would be there. So we would disconnect the phone. It would ring once or twice and then i’d pick up and nothing. But that cause for a sleepless night. Not sure if maybe someone was calling rooms at random or a glitch. The carpet was wet in some spots as if drying from being cleaned.

Had an incredible stay, its a little bubble of coziness and quiet comfort where you can rest in a very warm and peaceful energy, the staff was perfect and i had some great moments sharing with them ! The room got such a cool retro vibe that make you feel in a cocoon. It was perfect for me to adjust from jet lag and get ready for adventure.

Can’t think of anything

I’m not personally a fan of LA, so Chateau Marmont is a very quiet, and extremely private place to stay, with a somewhat colourful history. I last stayed there in the 90s, and thankfully it’s retained its exclusivity, discretion, and mystique. At a price, of course.

Nothing; if there’s anything about this hotel you don’t like, you simply wouldn’t pay the money to stay here.

- rooms are outdated, particularly the bathrooms. I know this is part of the concept, but this is a five star hotel so i would expect at least the bare minimum without losing the historical appeal

Just all around awesome place. We got engaged here and they have been more than amazing accomodating us during our multi-day stay! The staff is super friendly and helpful and amenities are great.

We stayed in one of the cottages and it was magical. Craftsman cottage surrounded by a lush, tropical garden and fountains. The restaurant was excellent, as was the inside bar. The castle itself was spectacular and the views from the various terraces equally so. The staff is really accommodating and so professional. Really a wonderful trip.
