Hotel Città Dei Mille

At first glance, the hotel looks old-fashioned, something from the seventies. But everything perfectly maintained and works great. Good bathroom, perfect bed and linens, fast wifi. Impressive lobby, friendly staff, reception working 24 hours a day, convenient check in and check out. Good breakfast. The hotel is not in the city center, but in 15-20 minutes walking you can get to the most of city attractions.

Tea and coffee facilities in bedrooms are really missing.

The staff are wonderful - they couldn't do any more to make me feel welcome. From the first greeting to the final farewell, every single person was friendly and kind. The location is around a 10/15 minute walk from the town centre but there is a bus stop 5 minutes away that will take you into Citta Bassa and also up into Citta Alta.

A bit more information on what was available as part of room service and maybe the option of some snacks to buy. There were terrible thunderstorms on my first night and there aren't any restaurants really close by so would have been nice to have the option to purchase even some crisps in house.

I missed my flight due to huge and slow queue to Security Check at Bergamo Airport. So I booked a new flight and this hotel for the week-end as it had good reviews and location. This hotel is of old-fashioned style but really well renovated and beautiful inside. Personnel is very active and talented. Breakfast quality is well above average level for this kind of fair-priced hotel. I had one-person room at the highest 7th floor. That room is small but it has good view from own balcony. There is constant traffic and airplane noise outside but it all vanishes when you close the balcony door or bathroom window. There is also a minibar hidden under the writing table, I found that just when I was leaving! Location is about 900 meters by walk from railway station or 2,5 kilometers from Funicolare Bergamo - Città Alta. From BGY airport the distance is 4...5 km (by car or walk). I had much time left when leaving Bergamo so I walked to the airport with my small backpack. Took about 1h. (Of course there is airport bus connection between airport and Bergamo city center. At the airport go to platform 1, ticket price at the ticketing machine there is 3€. Fastest to buy with a card using NFC. At Bergamo center the bus station is located near the train station). And if you really have excess time, visit the huge Oriocenter opposite to the airport!

Selected as an overnight halt, that was near both the railway station and Bergamo airport and it was perfect for that. We walked with luggage from the station in about 15mins. Next morning we used a taxi to get from here to the airport, but the bus route is in nearby (next parallel street) if you want a cheaper option. We didn't get the chance to go to the old town (lack of time), but it would have been possible to walk to there from this hotel. The hotel itself was clean and well organised. Slightly strange mix of old pictures and decor style, in quite a modern hotel... But smart nonetheless.

One of the more old fashioned hotels I've stayed in, this hotel is a bit removed from the keycards and computerised check ins I've got used to. While the room did look a bit 1970s it was comfy, a good size and perfect for me staying alone. The location is good; just outside the lower city centre and close to both the train station and airport.

If one arrives late at night there isn't the greatest choice in that location to grab some food except for the hotel bar and the minibar in the room. Breakfast can be crowded when the hotel is busy and was a smaller choice than maybe some are used to.

Good hotel location - 15 minutes on foot from the railway station. Close to Via Don Bosco bus stop, where the Airport Bus stops. The staff was very nice, the breakfast was tasty and the rooms were clean.

The only problem might be a bit busy street in the front as it was a bit loud during the night.

Fantastic, comfortable hotel with lovely character to it. Room was warm and comfortable, air-conditioned. Delighted with the inclusion of breakfast in the rate, as this has not been offered in many other hotels I've stayed. Perfect location for town, ten minute walk from train station. Desk Staff and waiting staff were all very friendly. Couldn't have asked for more.

I really liked the staff, who were all friendly and very helpful. They allowed early checkin without extra payment. No problem communicationg in English. Regarding the room - the bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean. Everything was quite dated though. The hairdryer in my room didn't work (had to borrow one from reception each morning).

The breakfast wasn't anything special, really - I expected more looking at the pictures on booking.com. The coffee available on the breakfast tables was horrible. You can ask the ladies serving breakfast to bring you coffee from the coffee machine (which was very good). Bear in mind that the location of the hotel is not conveninent to see Citta Alta (you have to use the bus). It is close to the train station, though.

The Hotel was amazing I had a single room on the top floor with a balcony looking over the old city, the flowers hiding the height of the balcony, was amazing sitting there in the eve watching the thunder and lightning in the mountains. The room was really clean and towels etc changed daily, if you need it the fridge was stocked with beer and soft drinks at a very good price. The breakfast had everything you could want from a buffet style and your were served your choice of coffee. The location was excellent for me 10 mins walk to the station which I used to visit Milan, Garda and Como and where the Airport bus drops you off.

Excellent hotel. It took us only 10-12 minutes to drive from the airport, great location! The parking is huge and free which was a plus for us. The check-in took just 2 minutes-that’s awesome! The hotel is so stylish with its character and charm. We stayed in a double room on the 6th floor. It smelled good, everything was clean and as described. Breakfast was included and there was everything you can usually have (eggs, sausages, cheese, toasts, croissants, jams, fruits, yogurts, cereals, etc.) The staff and receptionists are so kind and always ready to help. Our booking was non-refundable, but they allowed us to change dates 2!!! times (we had unpredictable circumstances).. My recommendation to stay here and enjoy!
