The breakfast was delightful. The hotel owners were extremely nice and helpful.

The economy room on the ground floor had a bad smell. Especially when entering the room for the first time, you immediately recognized it coming from the bathroom.

Lovely old-fashioned hotel, close to the historic centre of Ferrara (what a beautiful city). Lovely breakfasts included. Really nice staff.

The room had a bit of a damp musty smell, though I got used to it. The fridge had things in it but no lost if prices, so I put my own things in there, but not much room to do so. I would rather have an empty fridge in a room to use as I need. There was no kettle and cups in the room. You could order coffee etc. as room service, but I definitely like to have a kettle and cups.

A fairly compact, clearly family-run hotel, with positive personal touches evident throughout - in decor of public rooms, contemporary art on display (not entirely my taste but the point was having quality examples there (and what it said about the owners), well chosen music (jazz/classical), great breakfasts. Very helpful staff - and a near perfect location close to the Estes castle and rest of historic central area - of this rematkable and distinctive city.

location was brilliant, only a 5 min walk into the old centre of Ferrara, and a 10 min bus ride to the train station. It was a perfect place to stay for the New Year’s Eve festivities when Ferrara was very busy. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfort. The breakfast was a lovely selection of fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, pastries and cakes,served in a quiet, charming dining room.

The bedroom looked out onto a glass roofed courtyard which made the room rather dark, but as it Winter time this wasn’t much of a problem.

I was struck by the friendliness and helpfulness of the manager/owner as soon as we arrived until we left. She gave us an excellent suggestion for one of the best meals we had in Italy . This  small charming hotel is nicely decorated ,the bedroom was spacious and clean.  The breakfast was really varied with great coffee. The hotel is centrally located, a few minutes' walk from the amazing Castello, close to the bus station, about 10 minutes walk to the Palazzo dei Diamanti which houses the Pinetoca with some really wonderful art. By the way, there is a regular bus that takes an hour to get to Bologna airport, this was a very good choice for us avoiding Bologna train station.The manager kindly rang up to find out details for us.  Unfortunately  I only had 24 hours in Ferrara but  I will return, it is a lovely town and will definitely stay at Hotel De Prati again.

Loved this small unassuming hotel. It was on a quiet street but near the center and all attractions we wanted to visit. Staff were wonderful and provided excellent restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was very good - with ever-changing options (including an amazing pumpkin tart one day). We stayed in the Junior suite, which was larger than we expected. Access to exterior terrace was a definite plus.

The only concern for us was that mosquitoes swarmed the room when we opened the windows. Lots of bites - but it was our fault.

Perfect location - on a quiet street yet close to all of the important places to see in Ferrara, specifically a couple of minutes walk to Castello Estense, the cathedral, Palazzo dei Diamanti, etc.; - The hotel has personality, not your generic hotel. It seems like an old building (probably with history) but renovated and with all of the conveniences you need (wi-fi, elevator, etc.); nice touch - with beautiful Persian rugs; - Extremely nice staff - once you are there, they recognize you personally, know your room number, etc.; offered me help with my luggage (although there is an elevator); - Breakfast - delicious pastries, served in a nice room; classical or traditional Italian music played; they serve your coffee and make you feel important as a customer. - Room - bed was wider than I expected for a single bed; big screen TV (not like the once attached to the ceiling as small as a laptop screen...).

Excellent location in the old center of town just steps from the castle. Our room had 3 beds and a patio which accommodated our family of 4 just fine. It was very clean and nicely appointed. The building has been a hotel since 1900 but the interior is all updated. The family has been operating the hotel 10 years and have a nice book about their grandmother and a bakery from a couple of generations ago. The lady who checked us in at 9PM was pleasant, assisted us with parking and a walking tour, and gave us a couple of recommendations for dinner nearby which was excellent! The breakfast was very good with choice of eggs and fresh meats. Wish we could have had a longer visit and look forward to returning!

Room was great, it had everything we needed. Breakfast was also great, it had lots of choices. Even for vegetarians. Parking was 3 min from the hotel and we could find a spot everyday without a problem. It costs 5€ a day and you pay it as you leave the hotel. No messing around with parking tickets. Staff was very nice and helpful.

The hotel Manager is excellent! Great communication prior to arrival and throughout the stay. Parking can be a challenge when the city is busy. He was prepared, walking us through where to park and providing a map. He even offered us a pre-paid option that was cheaper and extremely convenient. The location is fantastic! They have a large espresso machine and the coffee is great.
