Cerro is perfect for relaxing and as a base to explore the lake. The hotel is great and everything is made much, much better by the two brothers who run the place. Matteo is super helpful and a font of useful information, while Davide cooked superb meals. Make sure you book into the restaurant at least twice so you can try all the dishes. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Having to leave.

Recently rebuilt hotel, with excellent taste in its architectural features, space, and all minor and major details. Spacious and squeaky clean room with a wrap-around terrace and unbelievably beautiful views of Lake Maggiore. The restaurant has an outstanding chef and excellent choices for dinner and lunch. Food is outstanding! Matteo, one of the owners and manager is a very charming host with the most pleasant personality who is always ready to help and answer any questions you may have, always with a big smile on his face. Definitely staying at La Dama sem Porto was the highlight of our trip. And, by the way, we fell in love with the town of Cerro. Easy access to everywhere around and across the lake.

The fact that we had to leave…

Located in a very pretty village, away from the crowds. Matteo, the owner, always has a smile on his face and treats his guests with so much pleasure.

The Wifi could have been better. There is no AC, which didn‘t bother us as it wasn‘t that hot during our stay, however I could see this to be a bit problematic during the peak of summer.

Stunning and peaceful location right on the edge of Lake Maggiore. Our host, Matteo, was incredibly helpful with information on local amenities. Personal service at breakfast made a relaxing start to the day. Excellent dinner menu and service. Wish we were still there!

A longer stay!

The people running the hotel were exceptionally nice and accommodating. I had to book the room for a Buddhist monk travelling for my father's funeral in a rush and were able to book the room and check in despite the late hours. The monk told me that the staff were very friendly and respectful. The location is situated in a beautiful place and a lovely place to go for a walk or a pizza in the evening. The communication also from the hotel was excellent.

The style of furniture is exceptionally well put together. The view is breathtaking especially in the restaurant. The owner is the nicest and most caring person I have ever met. There complete heart is in the place and he is all about making the stay as comfortable as possible for the guests. Even though we were almost alone in the hotel we didn’t lack anything. The owner even came from home to the hotel well after check in times to check us in. I can and will highly recommend this to anyone who wants to visit Lago Maggiore.

The room was very clean and cosy!! The bathroom was all new and very clean! The bed was very confortable, we spent two nights there and it was wonderful, nice team Mateo is so nice! Very beautiful view and good breakfast in the morning. About 6 min of the ferry station very useful to visit the borromean islands on the lake. Fresh air by night and early in the morning, we've traveled in June and it was no need of climatisation, the fan in the room was largely enough! I really recommand La dama del Porto for a couple vacation.

Wonderful location. Fabulous and imaginative food. The tasting menu was superb. Extremely cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful staff. I WISH I COULD RATE IT 9.5 - which would be the highest rating I have ever given. It was near perfect!

It’s a renovated typical locanda on the lago Maggiore. The absence of TV is not an issue. On the contrary.

But the absence of air conditioning could become an important issue in hot days like there will be more and more in the coming years. The fan is shaky and not very useful. A small fridge could be more useful and would allow to drink something fresh beverages instead.

Breakfast was excellent served and prepared by the chef/owner. The owners, Matteo and Claire are friendly and ver helpful . Matteo is an inventive chef, keen to please. Meals were excellent
