Hotel Malcesine

The main receptionist at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The shower was good. The views from my room were fantastic.

At least 2 of the younger staff, including one on reception, need urgent training on what is appropriate, professional, and not creepy behaviour outside of a guest's door at night. And further training on how to respond when asked to stop disturbing that guest. I'm not one to trample on young love, but there are limits, especially when the room isn't cheap.

EXCEPTIONAL service! We had an emergency during our stay and the staff was so kind and willing to repeatedly help from 5AM till 11AM despite our checkout!! Unlike other accommodations during our Garda stay, nothing was a problem here and we didn’t feel bad asking for things. To the hotel owner - your members of staff are true GEMS!!, especially the receptionist who kindly called to the hospital for me in Italian and just really made a difference with her polite and empathetic approach. Will be back in the future for delicious breakfast (with kind staff as well!) and hotel restaurant with stunning sunset views and good drinks. Comfy beds too! Grazie mille! Zuzana

Location right at the ferry docks! Not a bad walk to the bus station. The deck with lounge chairs was marvelous for relaxing or sunning. Umbrellas for those that don’t want sun. Right on waters edge! Staff was friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the woman working each day in the breakfast room. A sweetheart! Breakfast was varied and plentiful with something for everyone. Beds comfortable. Fresh towels every day.

Property is a little tired but typical for a 3 star in older section of a town in Italy. Quite clean although some areas could use a little more attention.

Good location, hotel with lift. Breakfast is plentiful. Comfortable double bed. This is not a minus, but it is worth knowing that the hotel is in a pedestrian area. So you need to leave your car in a remote pay parking lot and be prepared to carry your luggage to the hotel.

Very small bathroom. We stayed in a quadruple room with a mezzanine bedroom. I would recommend taking two separate rooms if you are travelling with teenage children as: - the sofa bed is not comfortable for sleeping; - the mezzanine is open, so you can hear a lot if those sleeping downstairs are turning on their side (rustling the bedding).

Loved the place, even the rooms were a bit older, it was clean and comfortable. Duvet covers (instead of blankets) was available. Great location by the lake, and nice sun beds where you could climb down a latter to swim in the lake. The staff was the best, they were so nice and helpful, and the best staff of all the places we went during our ten day trip around the lake. We also had a beautiful view over the lake from our bedroom.

Nothing, everything was great!

Wonderful location , right in the water and completely central to everything in town. I appreciated the on-site restaurant and lobby sitting area ;although I didn’t use it , I enjoyed seeing others sitting in the overstuffed sofas and chairs and socializing and having drinks from the adjacent bar area . . The woman at the desk was incredibly friendly and helpful . Given that it was a brief, one night stay, they graciously accommodated my luggage so I could have extra time in town before departing the area . The breakfast was shockingly extensive , tasty and enjoyable . The on-site restaurant had beautiful views , delicious food , very reasonable prices and I additionally got a discount for being a guest . The last minute room booked through Booking.com was extremely reasonable in price . The room was basic but very clean and met my needs . I was overall extremely pleased with my choice and my stay and would absolutely recommend this property .

Although the room was fine , there were 2 bare bulbs , which were a detraction from the quality of the room . My plan was to splurge my last night of vacation on a nice dinner . The food was very good. The servers were pleasant , but too busy, I guess , as service was extremely slow , such as to negatively impact the dining experience . The other server didn’t have my table but was very available and was doing other clean-up and side -work, while my waiter was so busy he could never get to me in a timely fashion . Long waits every time I wanted/needed something , including the bill. Again, I could see it was because he was so busy , but it would have been helpful for the other server to take care of my table instead as he had all the other tables close to me .

Having stayed in four stars hotel most of our trip we weren't expecting much from this three star. We were very pleasantly surprised. Amazing location right next to the boat terminal and in the heat of the town. Although the bedrooms are not as modern as some newer refurbished hotels, we could not fault our stay. Large partial lake view balcony was a bonus. Would highly recommend for a comfortable stay in an excellent location. Reception staff were very helpful. 10% discount given in the adjoining lake front restaurant!

The bathroom was small for what we have been used to for our 2 month backpacking trip but for all the length of time we spent in the bathroom this was not a concern.

The personell, location and the cleaness.. Food in your restaurant

It's a bitty that still it's possible to smoke in every table outside in your restaurant. That should not be possible nowadays. The breakfast would be nice to be eaten also in outside. The wifi was so poor in the small building. Too slowly and the connection failed all the time.

The location was fantastic and dinner was a beautiful setting over the lake. The restaurant food was delicious and I loved our room with the mezzanine. The staff were all really friendly.

The breakfast options could have been improved. We went for breakfast at 09:30 and some of it was cold, the juice machine had started running out.

Ideal location in the heart of Malcesine. Historic hotel, with views either to the lake, the mountains, or the town square below. Quite good buffet breakfast. Hotel abuts the ferry stop, so very convenient.

Oddly the hotel lobby seems modernized - renovation did not really honor historic hotel. Our family room had a loft, but it did mean the temperature was difficult to get right. Either the people upstairs were overly toasty or the people downstairs were quite chilled.
